Dark deeds, intended to remain hidden beneath the cold waters bordering the island, have surfaced, shocking the small community and casting a dark shadow over its residents.

Confronted with a blood-speckled rowboat and a waterlogged corpse, Sheriff Lane is desperate for answers, some of which can only be found on the mainland.

Faced with limited resources and her lone deputy following another lead, Lane turns to Park Ranger, Philp Russell, who is more than eager to help investigate the mysterious homicide.

The pair piece their findings together while trying to separate gossip from the truth and answer the most pressing of questions: Whose body was pulled from the icy waters, and who, in their tight-knit community, put it there?

Once again, J.C. Fuller wrote a book that I couldn’t put down! False Findings had me reading until the very end to find out who the murderer was. I’m so glad that I met Fuller on TikTok because her books are amazing. I’ve been captivated by all three books in her Rockfish Island Mysteries series, and I can’t wait until she releases her 4th. Since all the books are set on the same small island, Fuller brings back the same wonderful characters for each book. Sheriff Lane, the new sheriff from the first book, Black Bear Alibi, is finding her niche in the community. Lane and Ranger Philip Russell are at it again when it comes to book three’s murder. I really enjoy this couple’s dynamic, and I like how they’ve grown closer over the course of the books.

False Findings really kept me guessing since there was an array of suspects. It seemed like everyone had a reason for wanting the victim gone. I loved messaging J.C. while I was reading with my guesses and observations, which is another reason why I love reading her books! The plot was so compelling, and with each new clue, the pool of suspects became larger, and everyone seemed suspicious. I just had to keep reading to figure everything out. There were so many layers to this case!

So, if you enjoy mystery and an author that will keep you guessing, add Fuller’s books to your TBR/ Shopping Cart because you won’t regret reading these stories.

Phil & Lane are back again with more mysteries to solve on Rockfish Island. In this third book of the series, JC Fuller takes a little bit of a darker turn into the messiness of life and relationships. With a well established cast of supporting characters, JC’s fans are able to dig deeper into the island drama and enjoy this wild murder mystery ride.

Per the usual, I wasn’t sure who the guilty party(s) were until the very end. I love that about her books! She keeps me on the edge of my seat with a beautiful Pacific Northwest scene surrounding me.

Now it’s on to book 4- Within the Pines!

PS for the Fuller fans, I loved that Caleb had such a big role in this book!

The mystery that JC Fuller writes is fun and enticing the entire time. And also there are nods to prior events in the earlier books, yet nothing that would give away the events of those books. It makes for such a fun experience. The characters are dynamic and I find myself cheering on all the relationships and feeling so invested in the investigations myself!!

JC Fuller has done it again. These beautifully drawn characters propel the story that’s filled with little twists and turns that keep you guessing. I won’t summarize the story because I always inadvertently drop spoilers but this third installment in the Rockfish Island Mystery series is perfect. Looking forward to book four!

This is my favorite book of the series! First off I was like ok JC Fuller getting extra gory with this murder scene, I like it Picasso. IYKYK. This entire series hooks you from the start and it so hard to put down. I finished this book within hours and I was taken on a whodunnit rollercoaster because just when I though I for sure knew what happened I went plunging down and hit a sharp right turn where in the end I came to a jaw dropping stop and didn’t see that coming.

I have to wonder if Sheriff Lane had any clue that coming to this small island she would see this much murder action in such a short time! I do love how her deputy has really come into his position in this book. Also can I saw how adorable it is that the coroner names each case and that is the book title, that little bit has made me smile each time, I know probably morbid to smile at a coroner giving names to his cases but I can’t help it. Plus his love for cookies adorable.

I was sad to see how I was finishing this series but was surprised at the end that another one was coming this summer and now I can’t wait as it’s summer and that means hopefully soon! I can’t wait to see what case J.C. Fuller comes up with next.

This series is highly recommended for any reader who loves a good murder mystery!

I’ve been loving this Rockfish Island series. This book is actually better that’s the first two… I believe because the author has really submerged herself into this island and it’s residents.
After another murder on the island…. I think I’d be watching my neighbors carefully LOL.
She has a way of writing that makes you feel like you are right there next to the Sheriff, Ranger, and the rest.
One scene pops out at me that seems mundane but it made me realize how great J.C. Fuller is. This couple has sat down to dinner. They discuss the case and go about their lives. Right up to even doing the dishes together.
She writes this scene so beautifully put together that I can hear the chatter, water running, the chink of dishes.
These books are full of everyday lives that I feel Rockfish Island is a living breathing place. I could read about this place for years. Also wish I could visit it!

Entering back into the world of Rockfish Island, we are immediately pulled into another crime. This one takes some of our favorite characters to the mainland to question hotel staff. Giving us different perspectives on the victims and our main characters. The bodies start piling up as Lane and Phillip rush to find the perp or perps. This book kept me second guessing everyone but the Local Queen herself. Hattie. (She's my favorite) I recommend this book series to anyone wanting a suspenseful mystery that will keep you engrossed in the story.

I adore Philip and Lane. They are the dynamic duo. Lane is no nonsense, by the book. She doesn't let emotions get on the way. Philip has lived on Rockfish Island his whole life. He only sees the good in all the people that reside there. The small town charm in False Findings will keep you guessing until the very end. Just when I thought injad everything figured out, a twist would shock me. All the loose ends are tied off with a nice bow. I love the authors writing style. I can't wait to read book 4.

This third story in the Rockfish Island series is even more amazing than the first two. And those were both fantastic stories. Without a doubt, as much as I loved books one and two, this one is my favorite. JF Fuller keeps getting better and better. I can’t wait for book four. I couldn’t find an audiobook, but perhaps she has a fourth book in Kindle format. 🤔 I’ll have to look. If you love a good, clean mystery, this series is a must-read!! Enjoy. 🤗🤗

Sheriff Lane and Ranger Russell team up on a new case when a body is found floating in the lake. It is found to be Bob the local boat repairman. When they start investigating they realize he had a lot of enemies but who hated him enough to kill him?

This is the third book in the series and I listened to this one on audio. I am really enjoying this whole series so far. This one really kept me guessing the entire way through and I was shocked by the ending! I cannot wait to read the last one to see how everything is tied together!

Love returning to RockFish island and its small-town shenanigans. This is the third book in the series and it kept me guessing to the very end. Ms. Fuller's wonderful characters quickly become friends, who you can't help wanting to catch up with time and time again- and of course, the whodunit is excellent. Do yourself a favor and dip your toe into the pages of Rockfish Island Mysteries.

Highly recommend this book!

The writing itself is gorgeous, if you don't get sucked into the prose, you have no soul. But don't let that fool you! False findings is a perfect example of things not being what they seem. You have to look deeper and yet still be left speechless at the end. Keeps you on the edge of your seat until it's finished. Can't wait for the next book!!

Keeps you Guessing!

Another great whodunnit by JC Fuller. Sheriff Lane and Ranger Russell have a murder to solve when a badly beaten body is pulled from the ocean. Of course there are lots of suspects on Rockfish Island. This is a page turner. Yet again I suspected everyone and was surprised in the end.

Great!

This actually might be my favorite in the series so far! I couldn’t figure out who done it for the life of me! I really enjoy the continued main character development, introduction to some “new” island faces, and teaser at the end for a 4th book. I want more now!

I like to read series book in order to get the all the details on how the character interaction develops. This is the third book and I just want more, more, more. I love that there is a smart female detective who has her soft and mushy side to her also.

Still loving this series! It takes place more off island which I understand but was not preferred. Because I love the setting and townspeople.
There is A LOT of crime and bad people in such a small community, as someone from a small town in Wa it's wild, but again I am eating it up🍽️
At least three people in our book club have continued on and are finishing the series! Highly recommend!
