Magnus de Wolfe, who takes after his Viking forefathers, has his story told in a unique and powerful way. The story of a love nearly lost… but for an angel. Paternal grandson of England's greatest knight, son of the man known as Nighthawk, and grandson on his mother's side of a Norse king, Magnus de Wolfe has the blood of elite and royal warriors flowing through his veins. With older brothers who are much accomplished, Magnus needs his time to shine. But his moment in the sun could potentially burn him. Delaina de Courant is a courtesan. That's putting it kindly. A beautiful, intelligent and accomplished woman, that beauty was noticed by a nobleman when she was young and he took her as his mistress. Through the nobleman, she was educated and taught the finest skill and manners, so the result is the most sought-after courtesan in all of England. Delaina is very selective on the men she keeps and she is wealthier than God himself because of the gifts of monetary tribute given to her by hopeful suitors. Until Magnus comes along. When the chaste knight from a powerful, noble family falls for a woman his parents would not approve of, Magnus finds himself caught in a maelstrom of emotion – duty versus his heart. His family's reputation against Delaina's known profession. It's a horrific battle until Delaina realizes that the love she's always wanted – and the knight she's always hoped for – is simply out of her grasp. Or is it? Help – and redemption – come from an unexpected source in this turbulent de Wolfe Pack Generations novel.

3.5* This author has written so many books. Looking at the list is positively daunting and so I’m sticking to just de Wolfe Pack Generations.
This is the story of Magnus and Delaina and it’s one of my favourites so far.
Magnus de Wolfe is Captain of the Kings Guard. A Nobel knight from the legendary de Wolfe family. Delaina is one of the Jewels, the most beautiful and accomplished courtesans in the country.
He has a promising future and she’s ruined. How could it ever work?
I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by the publisher and NetGalley.
It's always a treat to sit down and read a book written by Kathryn Le Veque. The way she writes, her characters, the history, it all comes together so beautifully.
This is Magnus and Delaina's story and although I'm never keen on the heroine being a courtesan, the author spins her tale in a way that makes the reader understand she had no choice. Even when she fights against being a pawn to any man, she gets captured and punished. Magnus is the only man who gives her hope but she balks at ruining his life. What both of them endured broke my heart and no couple has ever been deserving more of a HEA.
This is another Kathryn Le Veque story that will have a special place in my reader's heart.
Action from the beginning, a brilliantly crafted and well executed story that is one of the best I’ve read from Kathryn.
I’m a big fan of this author and I think I’ve read all her books, this takes me back to some of her other books, Lord of Shadows being one. I love the court setting, the protective way of the hero and the way the characters gel so well, the chemistry is really great between them. You’ll kick yourself if you miss this one .
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review
Magnus de Wolfe commands the king's guard. Men fear his power and strength. The night he meets Delaina, his honor and compassion as a knight compels him to come to her rescue. A woman who has no control over her life is given hope for a new one with Magnus, until circumstances force them apart. What a love story. Grabs you from the first page. Definitely not a disappointment! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this.
My attention was captured from the opening chapters of this well-written novel as Magnus de Wolfe comes to Delaina de Courant's rescue when her protector goes missing. Discovering that Lord Daventry has suffered an appalling death, Delaina realizes that she has to get away with all haste if she is to avoid a repeat of her past life. Magnus de Wolfe as head of the King's Guard offers to assist her but did not expect to fall in love with the beauty. This is an emotional and suspenseful drama as the star-crossed lovers are separated by force of circumstances, but through the intervention of good friends, are finally brought back together again. I received a copy of this fairly sad novel as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
A wonderful read. The writing is telling to a entertaining read. As I continue to read I was hooked from the point of Magnus could still scare the living daylights out of his eldest son. I sort giggled at that part. I loved the story from the matriarch himself of a love story that began years ago. Their story was truly one that had its moments of Will villages burn or continue to grow. I also like how Patrick’s mom and other ladies are referred to as specific jewels. The story is one of family, history, love and loyalty. I give this story two snaps and a twist. Until next time my fellow readers. Read on! I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
A proven master in delivering page turning romance, Ms. Le Veque doesn't disappoint with her continued foray into her vast encompassing world of the De Wolfe Pack.
First of all, this story is framed beautifully - the prologue and epilogue are exquisite bookends to this compelling story. The story itself is one of the best I've read in medieval romance, one of the best by this author.
Delaina is grossly misunderstood - presented as one of the most valuable, sought-after women in all the kingdom, underneath all the glamour lies a horribly abused victim of what we would rightly call sex trafficking today. Sadly, women of that time had so few rights and such little power that her experience is held against her as a character flaw, and it's only Magnus and the honorable men like him who can see the tragedy that has been her life for far too long.
Once she finally has the chance to escape her gilded cage, she doesn't know who to trust and it's all Magnus can do to show her that the men she's known before aren't the only kind of man there is. Still, needing to make her own decisions is the only thing she can think of, and there's more tragedy in store for them both before she can love herself enough to accept a second chance at a beautiful life.
It's heartwarming to read of true heroes who care for the women in their lives during a time when women were routinely at the mercy of mostly selfish men. It is a stark contrast to the freedoms most women enjoy today, yet it serves as a reminder of both how far we've come and how far we still have to go.
These unforgettable characters, this powerful love story, this study of the strength of the human spirit is a must-read for anyone who loves romances, especially historical romances. No one writes medieval love better than this author, and this book is a shining example of the depth of her talent. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
As I do with all Kathryn Le Veque books, I auto purchase without reading the blurb. Thank goodness I did because I wouldn't have bought it. Why you ask? Because I don't care for stories about courtesans. I am so happy it all worked out because this is one amazing story I would have missed.
Yes, our h is so far from being virginal, but through no fault of her own. I was rooting for her to get to choose what her life looked like. Not what the men who controlled her wanted.
Our H is all you think a man with the name de Wolfe would be like and this caused him many problems. He knew what he wanted and it wasn't going to be easy to make it happen.
The way the story opens will pull you in and you will stay til the last page. This does end at 93% on my e-reader.
Lovemaking outside marriage - heat level 5 out of 5 and only described once.
Story is filled with suspense, twists, honest dialogue, main and secondary characters written with depth, romance, sorrow and one lovemaking scene. I did want to know the reaction of the son of her last protector.
No cheating, HEA, heartwarming epilogue written 44 years in the future. (ljb)

Loyalty, Confessions, Secrets: This is a magnificent love story that I could feel the tension, desire, and anxiety coming off the pages. There is so much going on in this story with these amazing characters that I was so engrossed I read the entire book in one day. The story begins with a bit of history before we meet the courtesan Delaina also known as The Ruby. She is in attendance with Lord Daventry to honor the king. A tragedy takes place and as she literally bumps into Magnus who then offers her help. From that point the story takes us into a thrilling direction of secrets, loyalties, honesty, desirous attraction, and many scenes that had me holding my breath or shedding tears. A wonderful well written story that had me captivated from the start. This authors stories have captivated me for many years, and I always look forward to reading the next one. Cover: Excellent. Enticing. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy for my honest opinion.
I've read a number of this author's books and have enjoyed them all and this one also did not disappoint. Ms. Le Veque has a way with creating medieval stories that really pull you in and you feel like you are experiencing everything yourself and you get immersed in the medieval time period. Magnus de Wolfe is captain of the King's Guard. He comes from a powerful and noble family. Delaina is a most sought after courtesan, and Magnus does the unthinkable and falls in love with her, a woman his family would never accept. Magnus is caught between following his duty and protecting his family's reputation and following his heart. This beautiful story of two star-crossed lovers grabbed my attention from the very start and held it all the way through. The strong and unforgettable characters captured my heart and I couldn't stop reading. An absolutely brilliantly written novel! I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
I loved it! The intrigue of the Royal Court comes to life in WolfeAx as Magnus de Wolfe finds himself coming to the rescue of a courtesan, Delaina they find themselves on a rollercoaster ride that brims with tension building twists and turns, trials and tribulations, danger and suspense that will keep you sitting on the edge of your seat. Kathryn Le Veque has given readers a book that is well-written, filled it with great cast of characters that come off the pages and pull you into this emotional ride that keeps you involved until the very end, passion and with great dialogue. With setting descriptions and action sequences that are wonderfully vivid that brings the story to life and as the uncertainties escalates the suspense builds and danger abound which brings this read together perfectly.
Magnus de Wolfe is the commander of the King's knights. The honour of his family history is bred into ever fibre of his being.
Delaina de Courant is a valued courtesan, bartered by men of power for years. When her latest master dies she sees an opportunity for freedom.
This story is told as a memory and a lesson against judging people before you know them.
As is usual in the de Wolfe family our hero is big, brave and very loving. Nothing and no-one will stop him from what he knows is right.
Our heroine has only ever known the selfish and ruthless side of men. That makes it too difficult to trust one. Fear and her training is what is ruling her actions.
An action packed story that could easily start a war.
I loved it and want to know more about "The Jewels"
This book is like KLV romances of old. I loved the atmosphere and the people. The premise is unusual, Delaina, a courtesan against her will falling for and ultimately marrying Magnus, the elite knight, commander of the King's forces. The story is told as a long flashback by an older Magnus in order to show his son and grandson how tolerance and love transcend all. As a device it works very well and as I became involved in the story I forgot this was not happening as I read it but had occurred 40 or so years before. Cleverly done. I do hope Kathryn treats us to many more such enjoyable books. I think I have practically read them all now and they have not all been as entertaining. This is much more like her earlier books. looking forward to her next tome.
Magnus de Wolfe is Lord Commander to the King. When he encounters the lovely Delaina, a courtesan at the King’s feast he feels the need to help her. Delaina is one of the Seven Jewels, the Ruby, a group of highly trained and educated courtesans who serve warlords for a price. Bartered and traded for money and power. When Delaina’s current lord dies at the feast she takes this opportunity to escape this life she never wanted. But it wasn’t easy as she and Magnus will soon find out. They must navigate politics, honor, loyalty, and Delaina’s past to find their happily ever after.
I loved this one! (As I do all of them!) I love the de Wolfe men. Kind, compassionate yet so strong, virile, ferocious in battle and with a hint of arrogance (sometimes huge arrogance) but always lovable. Magnus is a favorite and his love story is powerful. A beautiful couple who finally succeed in fulfilling their love and dreams. I also loved Denys. He is very strong, loyal and outspoken, perhaps hard to handle at times but he also was humble and admitted when he was wrong. A great character. I have a feeling he will get a book dedicated to him. I hope so. pamarella PRCS
I am totally blown away with the story of WolfAx. The story of Magnus and Delanie is unlike anything I have read lately. This story touches on such a topic that it breaks your heart and I rooted for them all the way through. I'm not sure what to say without totally giving the storyline away. Please don't get me wrong this story has it all and will keep you involved. I loved the story every step of the way. Another great book by Katherine LeVeque! I can't wait for more!!
I enjoyed Magnus and Delaina's story. It was quite different, but I kept an opened mind and at the end I was quite satisfied. You fall in love with who you fall in love with. For the time period, I could thoroughly understand the sensitivity and concerns of all involved. This made the story more intriguing for me personally. I couldn't help but hope for them. Also, Denys de Winter was intriguing to me. I enjoyed Patrick "Atty" de Wolfe all of his siblings and Titus...though, I did want more Birdie.
Like all her novels this one is excellent. Although there’s not as much action as other novels she has written, the mighty de Wolfe presence is clearly felt throughout the book. After all Magnus and Delaina went through to be together they ended up being separated due to his friend’s misdirected good intentions and it looked like there wouldn’t be a happy ending for them. Fortunately, for them the author found a way to make their HEA happen. A high five to Ms. Le Veque, you always make it happen!
I have pretty much enjoyed all the books by Kathryn Le Veque and this one is really outstanding! The story was exciting and kept me invested in everything that happened from beginning to end. There was never a part where I was not surprised by an unexpected outcome. I was never really able to guess what would happen around the next bend and couldn't help but continue until the conclusion. I was never disappointed and was so happy for these two to receive their HEA! This one is so worth the listen and one I will return to often.
The only bad thing about this book is I read this too fast. Just can't get enough of this series or should I say this authors books? Haven't read a bad one yet, this one grabs at your heart for the wrongs that was done to a young girl, rescue a de Wolfe, great love story but something always goes wrong. Bring out the tissues as I needed them again. It's not a KLV book if you don't have tissues. Next?
I eagerly await each of Kathryn's books on their release day. I almost always sit down and read the entire book in one sitting as they just grab your attention. Kathryn is a master story teller, and this book is one of her best. This is an emotional read, and yes I cried. I loved the chemistry between Magnus and Delaina. The secondary characters, such as Sir Denys de Winter and Morgan de Lohr, add so much to the story. I received an ARC of this book and chose to post this review.

Do You Believe In Love 💘 At First Sight 👀 ADULT Historical Medieval 🏰Romance💕 and Knight's Adventure🐺💪🔪🐎.
Political Intrigue in a historical medieval Novel based on True Events and Facts during the reign of King Edward 👑, Longshanks. There is a fair amount of angst throughout.
This well written story not only describes a part of history when morals, loyalty, truth and love came in conflict. In this day and time , it is good to be reminded that kindness, compassion, and circumstances can be in conflict and we should at times consider walking in someone else's shoes before passing judgement.
Magnus de Wolfe is a Royal Knight for King Edward and on the night of the feast Lord Daventry dies from a hemorrhage and his companion who was a courtesan one of the Seven Jewels is left without a Lord. She escapes thinking she would be handed down to Lord Daventry’s son who she very much disliked. Magnus wants to help her and ends up falling in love with her.
I can't get enough of this series. I have read all the books, except for a few of the newer, ones. I have put these aside t read when I really want to get into a love story. I feel like, I'm living in that time. I even have read some books in the 1800, about the Dr Wolfe family. I can't read enough of them.
