Thanks to this book, I finally realize the reason all my relationships have failed is because I never forced any women into wearing dog collars. Oh well, at least future girlfriends can still benefit from this late-stage epiphany.

Overall, I found volume 8 to be boring. I liken it to an anime episode filler. Leon was constantly having his faults shoved in his face throughout the entire book. It was amusing at first but it got really old fast.

Still a good book but a bit of an (intentional) lull in the series. The author explicitly states that this book is between "arcs". I'm continuing to find myself annoyed by the lack of character growth on the part of the protagonist, but we do begin to see possibly the first blushes of it in this book. Or maybe those bits of self-reflection were just beats so the author could make more gags about how awful he is later; not sure.

After Leon's taking down two (or is it three) rival nations, this volume focused on Spring Break at the Leon's Estate. But are those wedding bells? For Leon? And another blond beauty? And what has become of his rotten sister Jenna. Read along for this mysteries as they prep for their final year of school.

I'm getting a extremely bored of the running "the MC is oblivious to love" joke. Also the fact that he literally learns nothing from any of his mistakes is also getting somewhat obnoxious.

after the last overlong arc it's a very appreciated change of pace. however, I'm really not sure what the point of this novel was. Nick's arc was extremely predictable, and not really interesting.

I feel that this book was a lot of build up for what is next to come in books 9 and 10.
