The Titan #10

Nova Terra: Worldbearer

Rate this book
A nation torn asunder. A world at war. A mystery that will change the world forever.

No sooner had Thorn stepped into his new role as Titan of Earth than the enemies of the Duchy pounced, their armies flooding into Ironhold. With barely enough time to plan their defense, Thorn and the Wolfkin are forced into battle against forces that outnumber them five to one.

To make matters worse, other guilds who have long eyed Nova Luna’s position, are eager to cut Thorn and his friends down to size. Hemmed in by enemies on every side, the only way to overcome this world shaking challenge is to cut straight through it.

Thorn has come far since he first logged into Nova Terra. He has gained overpowered abilities and forged strong alliances, but even he is not sure if his titanic strength will be sufficient to hold Angoril together. Regardless of what happens, Nova Terra will never be the same.

If there's stuff you didn't like in the first book or any of the books until book 9, you won't like this one.
It only gets more and more wish fulfillment paired with a male Mary Sue sadly.

Once again Thorn gets amazing upgrades thrown at him.
His heritage is basically shoehorned in, without any reason whatsoever, except for him to be even more awesome. At this point I realized, I should've stopped reading this series like... 5 books ago? Why didn't I? Because the cliffhangers at the end of the books were good enough to lure my stupid brain back in again and again.

Sadly this doesn't make stuff good.

Why the hell would Velin (correct me if I'm wrong, but she's in her 20s? Mid 20s?) be romantically interested in Thorn at all? Because he is just that good with words and obviously strong so the ice queen goes sploosh. Sure.
He was 17, then the author decided: hey, wouldn't it be fun if Thorn could use his nigh infinite wealth declare himself legally adult because of having been in a time diluted game for two years besides not being physically 18? So hey, Velin isn't that kind of woman anymore, she's just a cougar at that point. A young cougar to be honest, but still.

Adding to that: When exactly did people (not only Thorn and the gang, which as Pro-Players have no need for mundane stuff like that even if it was clearly stated they still do but can stay longer) stop having the need to log out of the game? Everyone and their dog is just always there.
You can't create a world with set rules, then throw them all overboard and expect no one to notice.

Ah yes and please: Don't judge Ouroboros to hardly. He's one of the good guys now. Mins said it once, that has to mean it's true.
No matter that he threatened real life consequences for Thorn over a video game in one of the first few books. He never did it and clearly his mental unstableness was forgotten by everyone. So we should forget it too.

Also: Hey, Thorn and his guild bully a few other players and even whole guilds into obedience because they can. They tell them that their time in the game is done if they don't do as Thorn wants. Because money. Because Thorn is a good guy. Oh wait, he's actually not.
It was at this point (I know, really am late to the show here) that I realized: Maybe Sylith is the good guy here?
Sure, not every main character has to be the protagonist. Thorn definitely isn't.

I really enjoyed this series and read the whole thing pretty much back to back. I was tempted to give this one five stars, but there were just too many places where it felt like the author slapped a bow on it and called it done without bothering to make it feeling legitimate. The whole book felt rushed somehow and was an unsatisfying conclusion to the series. That's of course assuming it is the end of the series. It felt like a forced conclusion for a 10-part series (decology?) with the promise of a follow-on series.

Don't get me wrong though, I still enjoyed the series as a whole, and even big chunks of this book, it just wasn't quite good enough to get 5 stars. The MC, who was already too overpowered and just got more and more so as the series progressed, just got ridiculous by the time everything wrapped up. You may as well toss a cape on him and slap a big S on his chest. Also, the whole backstory of his parents felt... tacked on somehow. In the end, it was still an entertaining read though.

Amazing! Like actually a crazy good book. I was so hooked and had to stop everything else and focus on finishing it. I need to stalk the author to find out when the next series of books is to come out.

I really enjoyed this series. Seth Ring has a knack for creating stories where the stakes increase rapidly and it really pulls the reader in. I enjoyed this series and I look forward to reading the follow-up series.

Interesting but sucked

Seriously wtf this is an amazing example of how to not write a horrible series. It gets very messy totally disappointed by the start of the middle book and continued to get worse, the end was just stupid. It was like are you done I think you even threw in the kitchen sink. Oh not enough enemies oh let's add more and more crap oh the situation is not bad enough let's make it harder and harder and then just end it, total crap.
the author had so much potential but failed miserably.. His "battle pet" is almost never with him, he has so much going on with the runes its like the author is nerfing the hero..
Omg the plot holes and endless loose ends sloppy and mindless writing. Its a train wreck to a miserable end and it could have been amazing if it was written with care and had a big picture view of progression instead of growing the hero they just kept throwing things at him. I wish I could meet the author and sit down and rewrite the whole thing.. I am sure it would end up being possibly 5 sets of 5 series if not more. There is so much potential content as a resource material its just crazy. I hope your other books are better.

3.5*

My feelings about these books are complicated. On the one hand, I spent hours reading them and enjoyed a fair amount of it. On the other the series has issues and some are profoundly annoying.

On the plus side there’s the story, which is why I kept reading.

On the minus side, there’s the dialogue, especially the characters‘ tendency to chuckle at completely inappropriate moments. “Haha, sorry, sorry!” “Haha, since everyone is ready, let’s hit the road.” “Haha, one of the first quests I got when I logged in.” As I’m not a masochist, I didn’t count the total number of times ‘Haha’ showed up, either just in this book or in the series as a whole, but believe me, the frequency was appalling.

Who talks like that? No one I’ve ever heard. At first it was just Thorn/Xavier, but as the books went on, far too many other people began doing it too. Nails on a chalkboard for me…Every Single Time.

Everyone also kept responding with “That’s a great question.” It started with Myst when she was walking Xavier through his intro to Nova Terra, then Thorn picked it up, followed by too many others. When all of an author’s characters start to sound alike, it’s a problem. Real people have their own speech patterns and rhythms, characters should too.

There was no real ending to the series, and answers to the biggest questions about who Thorn is and what’s really happening were left for the next series.

The character- and quest sheets were intrusive and over-long. The author should have just highlighted the part that changed, rather than repeating the whole thing. Sometimes what shifted was only one sentence or percentage, so making the reader wade through half a page trying to figure out what was different about it was a real time waster.
The books badly needed a good editor. There were many grammatical errors, mostly incomplete edits, and sentences whose pronoun referred to the wrong person, etc.

Like I said, they were complicated for me, but I did keep reading them. . .

OMG Thank you Seth!!

I finished # 10 about 10 servings ago,
Once I got over the lump in my throat I decided to write this. There were times I had my doubts Lord Seth, but I have to say,
This is one of the most well written and organized configuration of thoughtful, meaningful stories I have ever encountered.
I feel as if you know some things the rest of us on this earth do not. Thank you for hours of thought provoking and mind bending
Stories I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy,
And I'm sixty, an avid book reader forever and have read thousands of books. Honestly I usually am not moved to leave a review anymore. Just some stars. But this set of stories is truly a phenomenal accomplishment and I thank you so much for it. Can't wait to move to the upper worlds with Thorn.
If you are researching and wondering if you should read this authors words, I will say that if you do not you will be denying yourself of a very pleasurable ride that will take you out of your daily and give you tons of smiles, tears, anger, and most of all plain old warm happy
Thoughts and feelings, again. Thank you Seth Ring. Thanks so much!!

I was thoroughly enjoying this book until the final scene, when Thorne's actions left me perplexed. It felt like the author lost me at that point, and the conclusion of the book appeared rushed and lacking in depth.

I had been eagerly anticipating Alph's moment to shine for several books, and when it finally arrived, he was swiftly sidelined. There was a missed opportunity to take the story in various exciting directions by allowing Alph to lead the charge through the portals, but instead, the crew seemingly surrendered without much resistance.

This book turned out to be the most disappointing installment in the entire series for me. It had the potential for so much more, but it fell short of my expectations. Despite this, I remain committed to continuing the series, as I'm invested in the characters and the world created by the author and hope for a more satisfying experience in future installments.

I finished the entire series, and somehow have the first two books in next series in audible library, so will try the next.

But …

As my first exposure to Seth Ring’s books, I’ll say that this series keeps bouncing from good reactions to terrible reactions and that’s giving a lot of grace to mediocre writing/construction. He got me to buy the books, so that’s ONE definition of success.

Between repetition, terrible dialogues (possibly humor attempts?), randomly blending sci-fi/surreal elements into a strong fantasy genre story often with minimal logic, foreshadowing, … but blended with some very funny scenes, & world building elements that I really liked, I’m all over the map re: emotional takeaways or critical assessments.

“Let this be a lesson to you,
This is what you should NOT do!” Exhibit A
~ Berenstein Bears

And in that regard, it deserves to be in my library until I’ve learned all the lessons.

The grand finale

After 10 books, it’s hard to believe that the series has ended. Admittedly we will be getting more of Thorns adventures in further series, but it really felt like he had so much more he could have done before this arc ended. As always there’s plenty of Thorn being OP, some mildly awkward romance between him and Velin, and some interesting twists.

Seth introduced a couple of real curve balls in this one, that felt like they really should have been brought up back in book 1 or 2. And then we are left without full answers for these questions. I presume we will dig into this more in the coming series that continues the story, but it was a little frustrating to leave with several things left dangling.

Whither Titan...

An excellent series with a great storyline and very good character development. As I usually do, I had to read the entire Titan series before I left a review. What would happen if an AI was created and thought she was the one who supposedly helped people create a virtual game world, only to find out differently? SPOILERS COMING: Well, that was what Eve thought , only to find out differently as she helped or suppressed a specific player Thorn/Xavier as he played the "game." And what would happen if his medical nanites followed him into this supposed Virtual World? Lots of up and downs and plot twists you could not even see coming, at least, I couldn't. ;-). So get this series and have fun and enjoy!!!

Great wrap up of Thorn’s time in Angoril as we see him prepare for the Endless Worlds

The Devil invasion begins while a Dragon has crawled out of his mountain hole and is making the world shake. Hoping that no more dragons rise from their slumber, Thorn, the gods and their Avatars come up with a risky plan to defeat them all! Thorn just has to play bait.

As Thorn takes his last steps on Angoril, he has learned much more than he suspected is true and this is not really just a game world but one of the Endless Worlds where greater beings still quest for power, riches and fame, or so I guess…

As Thorn races to stop the tyranny and war between the Dukes and the corrupted Princes... we get to dive deep into Mina's past. To finally find out what happened to her that fateful day while following the witches path. Since Thorn had a quest of his own in the same area and team decided to look into both. It turned out that both were pertinent to what's going on! And Thorn is finally able to get more insight to his Titan quest!
So yeah I'm doomed to continue this saga all the way to the endpoint! As if that wasn't obvious...

Payday.

Admittedly, my start in Nova Terra was tough. The first book, "The Titan," was a tough read for me. It wasn't until halfway through the second book before I was really hooked, with the story continuing to build until Worldbearer.

Regardless of my initial struggles, Worldbearer is a complete and comprehensive payday that closes out the intial series with a rewarding conclusion, setting the stage for the follow-on series (which I started immediately).

Nova Terra is a great LitRPG, and I recommend it to anyone who is fan of the genre.

Unexpected and an ending

We learn more about ascension towards the end of the book, and the ending of the series was abrupt and sadly expected. Thorn has been pushed towards a specific path his whole experience in the game. I'm very curious as to where the story will lead in the subsequent series. THANK YOU AUTHOR FOR MAKING A NEXT SERIES. I am also mildly mollified from the spoilers I had read in a battle mage farmer book. But I will be more careful about what book I read first from now on.

Awesome and easy read..

Seth ring really did a masterful job in concluding many open plot points satisfactorily. Vanilla OP main character and predictable progression fantasy but the feel good factor is too good to miss. Minor gripe is due to not being able to read how Arhtu the cursed and the Aeon dragon plot point was resolved. Maybe it will be addressed in a stand alone novel or something. If the upper world ARC is forthcoming I would definitely be interested to continue!!

Annd I’m done. I accidentally picked up forgemaster from the tower series before starting this series. And I was halfway through the farmer series when I realized there was a whole completed series from Seth ring. I’ve really enjoyed this series and this book did not disappoint. Now I can finally resume the tower series I started a week or two ago, and also finish the farmer series lol

Book 10 of Nova Terra:Titan. This is the last book in the Titan series. The ending is spectacular with a huge world fight with Gods and dragons and demons. It concludes the series well and sets up for the next series. I liked the entire series and it is high on my recommend list. If you’re reading reviews on Book 10, then you know that person must be a fan. I am a fan.

Ending without really being an end

Alternate universe, LitRPG, immersive game, hero's journey

A lot of OP action, though much of the last battle I felt that as Thorn's power grew, he was still fighting the same way, not really changing anything. So Forge Master is the sequel series, and Battle Farmer series share the same universe. Some continuity errors. Above average editing. So, if if want to read what is next, gotta read the next series. Okay.

I'm in love.

With this series. Everything, everyone. The world, the characters, the good, the evil and the in-between. I hope this series continues at least for as long as the author enjoys writing it. I'd love to see books exploring the individual characters and their experiences outside of the pages already written.

Very well written series. I will be following anything this author writes, no matter the genre.

The progression of this series has been fun. I usually don’t like the genre and only stumbled upon the first books. The author is weaved the series together perfectly, one of my favourites currently writing and producing books after reading the first in the series.

Wait, what just happened? It was going alright, then it sped up, and sped up, and sped up more, until by the end it was all just random theories brought to fruition as if there was sufficient foreshadowing all along (duh, there wasn't, at all).

Now, this may be alright, or it may be a huge downward crash, and the result will be depend on how the story progresses further down the road.

I do not normally read game based stories but this series had me hooked from book 1. I read all 10 books in the past couple of weeks. Writing is good with very few of the common syntax and word errors seen with these types of books. Pace was fast and main character was likeable. Never a dull moment. I loved them!

That ending got a tad bit wonky, but overall a great story with some really satisfying relationship stuff with various characters. I didn't like the off-page goodbyes, but whatever. Looking forward to the Forger series and getting some answers about Thorn's real heritage, the universe and all that. 👍🏾👍🏾

A wonderful litrpg series!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Nova Terra Titan series. The characters were well-defined and the story arc was uplifting. There weren’t very many typographical errors to break my concentration. I think I read 1 1/2 books a day, and am glad Thorn’s adventures continue. We need the romance with Velin to flesh out more!

This was a good series , some maps and character info. would have been great especially in the later books. There was a certain predictability about the ending but it wasn't unsatisfactory just totally overpowered and more like pure fantasy than rpg .
