An alien apex predator. One chance to make peace. Or wage war.
Sergeant Darryl Peters knows pain. He lost a leg in combat . . . and the soldiers in his unit.
Could an off-world assignment offer a fresh start? Peters believes so.
Sergeant Peters is assigned to a protective detail to keep Dr. Cooper and her scientists safe on the virgin planet of Kepler-940a. 940a could be big business for Earth . . . if it can be tamed.
The Marines have captured a pair of intelligent but deadly oceanic aliens called the Hex, the apex predator responsible for the deaths of an entire platoon.
Could their deaths be an accident? Or was it intentional?
The Marine colonel in charge has given Dr. Cooper a time limit to communicate with the Hex. If they can’t reach a peaceful resolution, the species will be eliminated.
For good.
Peters won’t allow Dr. Cooper to fail. His last mistake cost lives. There must be a way.
Can they find a solution in time? Or were they set up to fail from the start?
A quick but satisfying futuristic science fiction read taking place on another planet. A soldier, no longer qualified for duty, accepts an assignment on a newly discovered planet. He heads the detail protecting the scientists investigating the new planet. The protagonist quickly discovers there is more to the story than meets the eye.
An easy read with enjoyable characters I will be looking forward to reading other books by this author. If you are looking for science fiction with a bit of mystery, this is the book for you.
