When you know
Isaiah goodness, definitely Book Bae!!! I love a man that knows exactly what he wants, isn't confined to time or society's norms, and willing to put in the work to get what he wants. Isaiah was living a good life, he was paid, a boss, new house was bomb, family was good, and him and his favorite companion Champion were good. He didn't realize he was lacking anything until Champion ran into Oak, the love of his life. After meeting her in the park he felt like he needed to be with her. He was so in tune with himself that he didn't question it, he knew he was meant to be with her. The BDE that followed was everything! I appreciated the way he let his intentions be known and he made sure Oak knew she was it for him.
Oak was beautiful. You could tell she had a special aura. She was finally betting on herself by starting her photography business. The way this connected her to Isaiah was just yesss. You could tell that she was extremely hesitant with the aggressive way Isaiah was pursuing her. I was proud of her when she threw caution to the wind and took him for a ride. They were in their own little bubble and it was just beautiful. Clearly Oak wasn't as in tune with herself as Isaiah was with himself, because as soon as they had a little conflict she retreated. She was really pissing me off because this is YOUR man, like it was very clear he was entertaining no one that wasn't you. She already knew who her fake friend was....so why???? Folks are grown out here, you can't really believe they won't have a past. Then the childish reaction of not wanting to communicate was shameful really.
That man was too fine, loyal, and clear on his intentions to be playing with. I was glad when Oak finally came to her senses. I would definitely read a book 2.
