Born in Ireland and classically trained in London, Ms. Downey has performed on stage with the famed Abbey Theatre Company and has appeared both on and off Broadway. Among her many television appearances Downey is probably best known for her starring role as Monica, the tender-hearted angel on the hit show “Touched by an Angel" which ran on CBS for almost a decade. “Be an Angel” by Roma Downey is such a beautiful reminder of Our Maker. It is inspiring, and encouraging. It is comforting and a beautiful guide to a life of giving and sharing. It taught me about the power of small gestures that can bring big changes in someone else’s life.
Being kind is a choice and a life style, and Downey conveys that so gently and with such a humble heart.
It’s beautifully written and I particularly loved the “Be an Angel” invitations to do something kind each day at the end of each chapter.
We need these conversations now more than ever. This book brings hope to all !

Yet another must read from Roma Downey. For all men & women alike. BE AN ANGEL a great family read. It brings home to us all how we can offer kindness to all colleagues, family & friends & see what a difference it can make to our daily lives. Guaranteed you will smile more, feel uplifted and have your own personal esteem enhanced & by sharing with others your gained knowledge & appreciating the love we all have inside us to give will make every day seem that much better. Truly an inspirational read. So well written & covers every aspect of our daily lives that we have been through are going through or will go through. A comforting read to keep & refer & affirm areas that are important to you.

A wonderful inspirational book about how God and his angels help us in so many ways and all we have to do is ask. There are wonderful stories that Roma Downey tells that not only uplifts but also show us that we all go through trouble times and that even then, angels are with us and we are not alone.
There are 51 chapters of encouragement and ideas that will inspire you to try and be an angel on earth, and Mrs. Downey has put "Be an Angel," section that give suggestion just how to do it.
I like one of the chapters that says, "When you are irritated with someone look for that same irritation in yourself," and in doing so will change how you view the problem.
I want to thank Convergent Books and NetGalley for an advance copy of this inspirational book.

What a special book! Roma Downey became a beloved household name while playing an angel in the television series "Touched by an Angel." She was so believable for the part! In this meaningful devotional, I learned that she also studied being and angel and thought like an angel, too! Her thoughts were quite deep and godly. She shared insights from the hard times in her life, as well as joyful ones. It was truly inspirational and worth reading! Especially meaningful was when she wrote, " You can spread the message of grace in a creative way....Here's an example:

As her goal was to encourage us to be angels to others, she was successful!

Author Roma Downey brings readers an encouraging devotional in Be An Angel. It is filled with insights on ways to “be an angel” to people you come across each and everyday. Downey draws from quotes from Scriptures, different writers and thinkers and touches on subjects such as friendship, gratitude, faith, and more. It is a wonderful book of inspiration and one of my favorite quotes is: “God’s present “withness” changes everything. It uplifts and strengthens us. On the other hand, when we feel alone or afraid, we’re less than our best selves. Fear shortens our emotional fuses. Worry suppresses creativity and productivity. Anxiety robs us of joy and hope. The truth that God never leaves nor forsakes us does the exact opposite: It extends our emotional bandwidth, encourages vision, and fans the flame of confidence. When we go with God throughout our day, we greet what comes our way with strength and courage.”

What a treasure of a book! Roma Downey’s Be an Angel is a book of devotions that will inspire and encourage readers on their spiritual journeys. Each section includes quotations, scriptures, and reflections on topics such as loss, encouragement, kindness, gratitude, friendship, grace, faith, courage, and love. Each section also includes “Be an Angel” which encourages readers to look for ways to “be an angel” to those they encounter every day. I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this well-written, uplifting book. Well-done Roma Downey!

This book was so hard to put down. I could have easily read it in less than the 4 days I took to read it. I enjoyed it so much that I am planning on ordering the book. I really enjoyed you working in your life experiences each day and talking about those people that impacted you each day. I loved that you talked about the show "Touched by an Angel" as often as you could. I also appreciated at the end of each day the suggestions on how to be an angel for someone else.

A beautiful, timeless, and timely collection of inspirational passages to use as a daily touchstone, Roma Downey’s Be an Angel: Devotions to Inspire and Encourage Love and Light Along the Way makes good on its title. It’s lovely in its optimism, succinct in its knowledge, efficient in its compact arrangement, and wonderfully structured for the reader’s convenience.

I really enjoyed this book. It is both practical and inspiring. I think the Be an Angel encouragements are things that can actually be done and I am planning to buy this book in print to incorporate these more in my daily life. I listened to the audiobook and I think that is the best way to start because it really seems like Roma is there with you and actually cares. I think her voice is wonderful and calming.

Roma Downey encourages us to do what God is nudging us to do each day by being kind and loving, letting our joy loose and offering forgiveness to others. In other words, be an angel in someone's life each day. You will enjoy this easy to read devotional. I received an e-book through NetGalley. This is my honest opinion.

This is book of devotionals on every subject that is a great comfort. Roma has written and complied a wonderful devotional that you can refer to for daily life challenges. I cannot wait to buy the hard copy for friends. i thank the publisher and Net Galley for the opportunity to review.

Roma Downey really reminds you in her book "Be an Angel" to spread kindness and love in the most obscure parts of your life. It is a breath of fresh air, and a warm genuine reminder of how far something as simple as a smile can go! Very highly recommend!

I tend to read many books at once. I also wanted to take my time with this one and read little bits daily on my self care journey of healing and I’m very glad I did. It was like a warm blanket on a cold day, a hug when one really needs one. I truly enjoyed it.
