After surviving human trafficking, Alexis gets a second chance at life. Will she use it to find love, or let guilt and fear hold her back?
When she was held captive by a sex trafficking ring who kidnapped women--including Amish women--Alexis was forced to spy on the victims and report to her kidnappers or face horrific consequences. The Amish women she spied on forgave Alexis, and after they were all rescued by the Covert Police Detectives Unit, they even became good friends.
Now that she is widowed, Alexis returns to the Amish community to raise her daughter and open a therapeutic equine center. Her dream is to share her love of horses with those in need of therapy, hoping it will heal her own broken heart in the process.
Ben Banks thought his life was over when his wife Estella died, leaving him to raise their daughter alone. Ben's book deadline is fast approaching, but he hasn't written anything good since his wife's death. Looking for new inspiration, he visits his good Amish friend Derek in Unity, Maine, where he meets Alexis.
He recognizes Alexis right away as one of the trafficked women he helped rescue from that warehouse a few years ago when he worked for the Covert Police Detectives Unit, and instantly feels a connection to her and her young daughter. Soon enough, words begin to flow from his fingertips to his laptop as he can't stop thinking about Alexis. Their daughters form a strong friendship immediately, bonding as they both share a love of horses and learn to ride.
Just when Alexis thinks she will find happiness and closure, a threat from her past comes back for her.
Can these two widowed souls find healing at the Amish stables and get a second chance at love, or will Alexis' dark past keep them apart forever?

Amish Identity is a Kindle Unlimited book with a plot involving human trafficking. The author thankly didn't dwell on the dark, horrid parts. But rather on how to stop it and yes, the perpetrators were targeting young Amish girls. It's an interesting read; however, I found the ending a bit "out there" thus the four-star rating. This book is #7 in the Covert Police Detectives Unit series.
Amish Identity is another amazing story written by Ashley Emma. She has once again delivered an intriguing story for her readers which is centered in Unity, Maine and an Amish community. This story deals with a very real crime of sex trafficking. The characters are absolutely perfect for this story and help to bring it to life. The storyline includes loss, love, forgiveness, and faith. Family is definitely a big part of this story because of family several people were able to heal from devastating occurrences.
I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response and all opinions are my own. I have rated this story with four stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.

This is Ben's story. He looked at her hands and clearly saw the burn marks on her arms. “Want to tell me how you got those?” He gestured to the burn marks on her arms. “They did that the last time I didn’t report an escape attempt to them.” “Let me help you up,” the officer said, gently taking her hands and helping her stand. She looked up into his face, gazing into his brown eyes as everything else around her faded. “My name is Agent Ben Banks, and I’m going to take care of you. I’m going to bring you back to the station for questioning. Do you think you could help us by giving us information on these criminals and the sex ring? Do you know about any other locations they have or any other kidnappers involved?” he asked. Alexis’ eyebrows shot up. She knew everything about how the human trafficking ring worked, from how they kidnapped the girls and women, how many hideouts they had, and how many other men were involved. Amish Identity by ASHLEY EMMA is a 4 star book. I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. This book review is my own opinion. How Does God Help Alexis & Ben Gain True Peace & Forgiveness From Their Pasts?
Master Storyteller, Ashley Emma, concludes her "Covert Police Detectives Unit Series", in "Amish Identity". I ❤d that she included many characters from other 📚 in the Series. I deeply appreciated AE's sensitive portrayal of Alexis's traumatic history.
Equine Therapy has helped many people with PTSD, better cope with their lives. It's wonderfully presented on this 📗. I Highly Recommend You 📖 this Poignant, Engrossing, Christian, Romantic Suspense 💎, to see how Reconciliations & repeated Forgiveness, bring God's Peace, & a 2nd Lifetime 💞 to Ben & Alexis!

Book 7 of the CPDU series, just as good as the other books. I have totally enjoyed this series so far. This book is about Ben and Alexis, Ben is an officer with the CPDU and also an author and was one of the ones to save Alexis from the criminals who were kidnapping women to sell. After she's rescued, they lose track of each other, and each marry someone else. Both are left alone later to raise their daughters when their spouses die. They meet up again when Alexis moves to the Amish town of Unity to live with her in- laws, and Ben comes there to visit friends for a vacation with his daughter. Enjoy the book as you find out how Ben and Alexis are pulled together by each of their daughters and the attraction they have for each other.

It is Alexis' story which was Englischer and met in her life Amish people. We met her when she is enslaved by human traffickers and is helping them to survive. During her rescue she met Ben, who she would met again after several years when she started live between her Amish family and friends. Both of them are struggling with their past. Would they be able to build their lives again and be happy again?
this is a good story Alexis was kidnapped by traficers and Ben was one of the police that set a group of girls free then they went their own ways . and then they both find there way to the Amish people that can help them this is a story of loss, hurts and forgiveness to others and to oursleves i was given a copy of the book but this is an honest review
Life goes through many changes before finding happiness.
A good, clean, well written story about one of our society's problems. After Alexia was kidnapped and recused from a human trafficking ring, her life went through many changes before finding happiness with Ben Banks, one of her recusers.
I give this author a 5-Star review because this book touched my heart. The subject matter of human trafficking is difficult at best to write about. Together with the fact that I have read all seven of this series and still want more speaks volumes. Reread? Yes Recommend? Yes as reviewed by J Matthews - April 18, 2023
I enjoyed this book. The first part was about something that occurs more than people realize in this day and time. Ben and Alexis have a 2nd chance at love. Will they follow their feelings? Worth the read.
I received a free ARC, and this is my honest opinion.
Will there be a second chance? Rescue from a human trafficking ring followed by a short marriage, Alexis is now a widow. Ben, is also a widower; both adrift and lonely. Alexis and Ben, and the other characters, wove a touching tale. The daughters added just the right lightness. 3 1/2 stars.
Alexis spies for the people traffickers. She does that or she gets in trouble. A new group of Amish girls are brought in. Can these girls ever get free or will they be as Alexis? As always Ashley Emma has written another keep the pages turning story! Enjoy!
An intriguing story with interesting characters. While I liked the book, it needs an editor. So many redundancies that I found it pulling me out of the story. Happy reading!
Alexia, a sex victim , and Ben, a sex traffic officer, met up twice and both of their lives had gone through lots of changes and they were facing many more. A cousin of the sex trafficker kidnaps Alexia for revenge and peril sets in! I recommend this read!
Alexis was forced to spy on Amish captives but hated every minute of it. After they were rescued, she moved in with her Amish in-laws to raise her daughter and try to live a good life.
This story had me hooked from the beginning. Once I started reading I couldn't stop. It was exciting. The characters were fun to get to know. You never knew what was going to happen next. I loved this book and can not wait to read the authors next book.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I liked the plot and how the kidnappings the Amish and non Amish women had to go through and how they were resolved. I would recommend this series to anyone who likes to read books about the Amish and likes happy endings too.
Loved this book on the Amish and their ways of life and the families they raise. This book was about a young woman who had left her home and lived on the streets only to be kidnapped and sold to human traffickers. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
I loved the Amish Identity # 7. The storyline kept me interested in reading the book. It was written very well, and when I would read more of the story, I was able to keep going where I left off. It took me 3 days to read the book.
If they had half stars I would have do 3 1\2 stars. It was a good book but not quite as good as Amish Accident. A recurring theme of forgiving others and learning to forgive ones self has run throughout the series. I will certainly read more Ashley Emma books.
Enjoyed the CPDU series. Although Alexis' constant bemoaning about her past was getting to me, it did get better in later chapters. The ending was exciting but somewhat predictable.
I am really starting to want to read more books by Ashley Emma. Her story line is powerful. Although, I sometimes wondered why she took so long to finally get the two major subjects together for ever.
Very good book. I like how many years passed after the human trafficking, and we got to find out how Alexa and Ben were doing and they ended up meeting again. I recommend reading this book
Very nice book demonstrating how terrible lives in the past can teach two adults that love family and a close relationship with God can only bring happiness forever
I highly recommend reading this book. If you like Amish books you won’t be disappointed. The book gives you a look at human trafficking and also forgiving yourself and learning to love again.
