Technically speaking, this is another book (the last) in the Homies, Lovers and Friends series and is certainly one for the fans who already have the back story from the previous books. This book is really about the road to Kelsie’s wedding, Michelle’s second child in the midst of having her lazy step-sister crashing at her house, and Patsy being able to find and accept love.
It’s sort of a super extended epilogue with conflict… I’m hoping this is the end-end particularly with Patsy and Mello- I’m tired of them pretending there’s a friendship to be salvaged and the ups and downs of their relationship in the aftermath of his cheating… as for Patsy, the idea to move to California alone with a young child in tow and no support system knowing how much she relied on the support system she had in New York felt half-baked and somewhat intended to run from her fear of a relationship with Brunson and to punish Mello. I’m all for her pursuing her dreams but the timing felt escape-y, which is her right, but then she didn’t need to gaslight everyone as to the reason for the urgency. It was however great to see her development and her battle for her sobriety.
Thinking of the thousands of pages consumed over this series and the weight of the character and plot development that has happened, this book demonstrated the development of characters like Michelle who has become more assertive and Kendel now out of prison and finding out there’s more to life that being a trap girlfriend. I don’t think there was much growth in some of the characters- okay fine Kelsie. You know full well she’s going to be keeping secrets and lying to Mello in another 10minutes, so really not sure the value of her promising to change.
It’s been a journey spending time with these characters and I highly recommend the series (in order) if you’re a fan of Urban Fiction / Urban Romance.
Unnecessary & foolish. Literally made more drama to keep a series going and ended it with no one having a real clear ending. How we got seven books and still no conclusions🙄🙄
Awesome way to bring them all back. This was everything loved Kendals growth and the wedding was AWESOME. This was just liked I hoped it would be and once again Jah you did with so much ease
I had so missed these guys! I was so mad a Patsy but I get it! Melo still is and always I’ll be a f boy! Kelsie is always doing the most if she don’t learn to communicate and sat down some dang on where! Michelle was a good one! I’m surprised she lasted as long as she did! Brenda just needed a old fashioned butt kicking lol! With Her delusional behind! This book was just what you would expect from these guys! I was so proud of Kendel! I think Tech is good for her! I hope they get their own story I would love to learn more about him! Outstanding job!
I thought Mello would have found someon, but I guess he getting his karma that he deserves, for how he did Pat. I wish Michelle would have beat Brenda ass for what she pulled. I'm happy Patsy gave brunson a fair chance, and Milli and Kelsie finally made it down the aisle
This was a great official ending for these characters. I'm happy we were able to see Kelsie and Milli get their happy ending. Like Michelle and Thor, they deserved to get their happy ending, and I'm happy about their growth as individuals and as a unit.
I'm glad that Patsy has opened her heart and found love again. It's understandable why her reservations are there. However, I love that Brunson understands her and is moving at a pace that is suitable to her healing while also making his intentions known. I could only hope she could make it to being a wife again and have a completely different and better experience.
I still dislike Mello, and I wish him nothing but continued suffering.
Kendal surprised me, and I'm glad Milli was hard on her but didn't give up on her. I could only hope that she would continue to want better for herself and grows overall.
Brenda was a useless character. Her jealousy towards Michelle was completely uncalled for, and she never took the chance to understand what she had been through to realize she was deserving of all of her blessings when it came to family, her business, and more. Being around that group of women, one would think, it would motivate her to boss up and make changes in her life. I had no sympathy for how things turned out for her.
This is installment was a very cute update of our favorite characters. First of all Brenda got on my nerves from the very first page lol. Patsy has been thru hell and back and I’m happy she is continuing on the path of self love. I love that she sat back re-evaluated her decisions. She deserved Brunson and vice versa. Mello got on my nerves he needs to stop being so bitter. He put himself in the predicament he’s in. But, I can say i saw growth when he apologized to Pat. Michelle and Thor are my favorite as usual. I love Michelle’s growth and Thor is Bae lol. Millie and Kelsi i thought they was gonna revert back when her secret was exposed but the growth between them is very noticeable. Miracle is still my favorite. KENDEL! Mannn her growth was amazing to watch! She really buckled down and did her thing! I’m happy for her and Kelsi! Few errors and the format changed right before the wedding( which was BEAUTIFUL BTW) scene. If you enjoyed Homies, Lovers, Friends 1-5 you’ll enjoy this update.
Yasssssssss!!!!!! That book gave me life.I can’t believe the drama that came about.I still love me some Milli and Kelsie, they give me so much life.I definitely want me a man like him.Im so happy that they have the girls like they do.Im so glad they finally took that last step to finally become a family.Michelle and Thor was are so cute too.Im glad that they are building more of a empire. I love how Thor treats Michelle after how her ex treated her.I can’t believe Choc forreal.Im so proud of Kendel she is finally growing up.Glad that her and Kelsie fixed they relationship.Mello should be ashamed of hisself and wat he said to Pasty.Thats why he doesn’t deserve to be happy.Im so proud and happy for Pasty. She deserves everything that comes her way.So glad Michelle finally got one because she was just way too much for me.I loved this series,I can’t wait to read more from this author.
While I loved that Kelsie and Milli fought for their happy ending, I think one other book is needed to complete this series. Mello screwed up terribly, is in therapy, but has nobody in his life. It’s evident he and Patsy won’t ever be together again after he says some very hurtful things. However, I’d love to see him have his second chance at love and finally move on from what he destroyed with Patsy. He realizes the grass wasn’t greener on the other side.
So Jahquel J., please write another book to give Mello his peace. It actually would be nice to see him and Patsy have a second chance at love through some way. Perhaps, Patsy doesn’t see herself moving forward with any future plans because she knows deep down inside, despite the hurt and pain, she still loves Mello. Please consider this. Thank you and loved the series! Great work!

I really love the characters in this series. Mello has it bad, his own fault but still struggling non the less. Thor and Michelle are as I expected...I’m so happy that everyone was in. Good place. I really wished there was mire to add or spin off .... but I guess wishful thinking. My oooonnnnnlyy gripe is the typos it’s annoying bcz they distract you from keeping up bcz you have to remember who the author is referring to.. I really wish you guys would get better proof readers....I’d hate to buy a physical book and it had all these typos I’d definitely get a refund.but that is the only negative feedback I’ll give. Simply it’s a good story but the typos are live.
my only issue with this follow up is that there was a decline in Patsy’s character. In this one she was awfully selfish. How much money does one need? the dad is active in his child life physically and i’m sure financially. It was extremely selfish of her to want to move to a whole other state and deprive the child and father from being in each other’s lives. It was very hard reading this part of the story, Patsy was not healed and couldn’t separate the hurt from her failed relationship to that of him having a parental relationship with his child. Also I’m not sure why she was never given any love making scene in any of the books but kelsie and Mitchell’s did. Mello has came along way but in the end was never given a relationship in the end.
I’m so glad you decided to do one more book lol. Seeing Kelsie and Milli get their happy ending, made me smile!! They fought hard for their relationship and it was the best decision.
When the officiant asked who gives this woman away? And everybody individually said “we do” ohhhhh I was done for!! Family isn’t always blood. And Kels finally saw that!!!
Oh, Mello is a trash ssa human. How you mad at everyone else about the state of your life but yourself?? Make that make sense. I’m so happy Pat bossed up on him and found herself and found a man to love her and Mella. I hope Mello is still sliding down the wall, clutching his chest saying he can’t breathe.
I love that everyone got it all the way together...except Mello, he still has a lot of therapy in his future. Miracle making it rain on her babysitter was a wrap for me! Milli really don't have a lick of sense sometimes. Pat and Brunson, I really wanted to see them all the way together, with their own family, but I'll make it up in my head.🤷🏽♀️ Michelle was good for trying to help Brenda, but she had to bite the hand that was literally feeding her...no love loss there. Thor and Milli really not trying to give the sister/cousins a break with these babies frfr. I'm glad Kendel is getting herself together and hope she stays on that path. I'm really going to miss this crew, it was never a dull moment.
Aww. . .I was crying at the end. I am so glad Jahquel J decided to give us this wedding. We came a long with all of them. Thor & Michelle are such a beautiful couple. Milli and Kelsie are going to make a great family. Pasty is finally getting love. And I almost feel sorry for Mello, almost. I think there she be a spin off for Kendal and Tech. I really want to know more about him. And maybe a wedding for Patsy. Maybe 🤞. This was a great book. And I truly loved it !!! A little sad to see them go.
I was very happy when this book came out. I re-read the first six so I got the full effect. I understand you want to end these characters, so ill settle for reading again in a few months. Please try to be more consistent with story lines. First, Hello brought Millie's condo, then Kim rented it out. Then Miracles dog died, then talked about like it didn't . Some names got crossed in the end also. Shanny instead of Chelly. EXCELLENT WORK. Searching for my next read.
Kelsie & Milli.... Great job... No crip walking pigeons.. Miracle my how she has grown up... Milli better keep praying for a son..LOL.. OOOHHH how I wished Michelle would have beat the brain back into her step sister Brenda. ( No spinoff on her, as she was aggravating in this book. Michelle has come such a long way baby from book 1, glad that Thor built / continues to build her up & their kids... Pat she just made me sick, I think she still loves Mello ( JERK) but hates what happened to them, and still not over it... Great Ending??? hummmm I smell a spinoff coming about Kendal...
Oh how I missed these folks!!! Except Mello lol. That man still ain’t ish. It was nice to see where they were. Kelsie was getting on my dang nerves, but I am happy that she and Milli actually got married. Thor is just my fav. He pulls on my heartstrings with the way he loves Michelle. I could have back hand Brenda. She had some nerve. There was no way she would be living in my house rent free as long as she did acting the way she acted. Then to throw herself at Shannon like that....I wanted to pop her. Overall great little spin off. I enjoyed it and read it in a day.

I love it I love it!!!! That wedding scene had me shedding some real tears. Thor is everything a real man represents. Milli just keep making you love him even more. Now I will say Mello was wrong for some of the things he said. He also spoke some truth to Patsy about being a good father. This go round I feel like Patsy was deliberately trying to hurt Mello.
Great way to catch up with the crew. So tired of Mello and his stupidity towards Patsy. I was like yaaaassss when she stood up for herself and aured him out. Michelle's step sister was a trip and a half I can't believe she would stoop to such a level after they were gracious enough to show her in their home. Nice to see things work out for Milli, Kelsi, Michelle, and Thor though. Hopefully next Patsy will get her HEA.
This was a great way to revisit these characters and see their growth. I’m glad Kelsie and Myshon got their fairytale wedding. I’m also glad Michelle and Pat were happy and living the lives they wanted. I hope Mello continues to grow up, not just for him but for his kids as well.
I’m so happy Patsy stood up to Karmello he’s a piece of work😡😡😡. Milli & Kelsie finally married that’s been a long time coming ❤️ Bry was wrong for bringing Brenda into someone else’s home she was disrespectful on so many levels 😡😡 I was really proud of Kendel the change is becoming to her.
I’m kinda sad that this book came to an end,but It had to. I enjoyed the emotional ride I experienced through each character and I will definitely miss all of them. I love a book that I can connect with emotional & I always do when I read your books. You never disappoint. You are a wonderful authoress continue work those magical fingers of yours.💋
I'm going to miss this bunch. I loved all the books from Homie lover & friends 1 through to 6. This addition was just what was needed to finish off the groups life. There were a few typos thst threw my of track a bit, but other than that it was an enjoyable read as usual. Images of positive Black love. X well don Jaquel another page gripper
I have read all 6 books and loved all the characters. Even Mello and all his drama. However, I was disappointed in the all the errors in the writing especially in this last book. The spelling of names, the changing of names and I thought at the beginning it said Miracle’s dog was hit by a car but it mentioned him still apart of the family. Smh!
This is a good ending (for now). The way that Jahquel gave answers to some but not all questions and stories but didn’t leave you dying for another book is amazing. I will be here if she ever decides to wrap up Mello, Patsy,Brunson or Choc’s stories but like that they aren’t just out there. This is a good wrap up!
This series of every couples endings was bitter sweet, Thor/Michelle was more in LOVE with each other since day one, Myshon/Kelsie made it through all odds and Pasty/Brunson was starting on the good foot and Karmello was SINGLE and that looked best on him to he learn from his mistakes and take full responsibility of his actions❤💜🩶GREAT READ🩷🩵❤
Just when I thought book 6 was the end, I see there was 1 more part to the series. In this one, we truly dont leave any stories untold. My favorite part was Thor standing on business about Michelle when it came to Brenda. That girl TRIED IT in the worst way! I wanted somebody to put hands on her. I was mad Miracle didnt get her ring too at the wedding haha
That was a great sequel, I didn't realize how much I missed everybody. The only thing I'm not to happy about is Patsy and Mellon, he messed them up and couldn't own up to his mistake.
