Wyrdcraft: Healing Self & Nature through the Mysteries of the Fates

Rate this book
Weaving Germanic Paganism with mysticism, magic, and his background as a transpersonal therapist, Matthew Ash McKernan introduces you to wyrd, a mysterious web of being that connects everything. Wyrd encompasses all organisms, ecosystems, matter, phenomena, purposes, and possibilities. It is destiny, nature, soul, magic, and mystery intertwined. In Wyrdcraft , McKernan guides you through a process of attuning to wyrd as it manifests within all the domains of your life, teaching you how to sense and intuit the ways of wyrd more clearly than ever before. Exploring the intersections of psychotherapy, ecotherapy, Heathenry, and magic, this contemplative and experiential book offers nearly fifty exercises to help you cultivate wyrd consciousness―an awareness that is naturally revealing, healing, transformative, and becoming. Becoming what, you may ask? You will see as you align with the wisdom of wyrd, heal yourself and our interconnected world, and remember the nature of your Higher Self.

I am ALWAYS saying, it’s all connected. Everything is part of the greater whole. It drives my kids nuts sometimes, but they get what I mean by it as they also say it at times.

This book was like listening to someone else not only say this to me, but having them explain their view on it and how they view the connections. It was like finding my family. And who knows, maybe I did as I come from a Germanic family who taught me a few things as well over time.

A great read for a much larger topic that makes it easier to embrace and understand.

I did not finish this book. I'm not sure who this book was for. It's not written for the pagan/occult market, the language is pseudo phycological words used in ways that are never, ever defined in any way with a gloss of heathenism. It's bad pagan writing and terrible self help writing, all mashed together. I hate to DNF a book, but I just couldn't wade through this. Maybe there's someone out there, a reader for this book, but it wasn't me. I don't have the patience for this kind of writing, which seems to obfuscate more than illuminate while trying to sound legit?

Interesting read, a topic I am new to so I went in open minded. This author didn't disappoint, From clearly cover history authenticity and siting sources, to de tailing everything else leaving no gaps for the reader to have questions.
It was alittle hard to follow in arc form as the author has journal prompt and thing so I look forward to seeing this in its print form.

Are able to understand what is written in the book. Author does use pagan, paganism, heathen and heathenry interchangeably. Get and introduction of what is wyrd, the fates, the importance of self-care, the liminal and other topics about wyrd.
