But We're Bros! #4

The Tailgate

Rate this book
Old college buddies who like to tailgate – big trucks, big parties, big … dudes.

I always loved tailgating with my bro Rob – it’s one of the only places we can feel free to bro-out and just be guys. He’s one of my old college roommates and the only one to go to as many games as possible with me. Rob can be an aggressive jerk, but he's a big softie under his intimidating persona and muscular build.

Rob’s large presence is comforting, whether in a bar fight or with a tight bro-hug. My ex and I broke up two years ago, and I gotta admit that having him keep me company and help me through it has been great. It made me realize he’s basically my best friend, which makes sense since we were the closest of the guys we used to live with. Not to mention how much we have in common, including our very similar tastes in women.

We were at a tailgate when we found out a former co-ed had a very lucrative online profile. Both of us always thought she was hot and knew we had to look her up. We decided to watch her videos in his oversized truck - together. If I thought the size of Rob’s truck was compensating for something, I was sorely mistaken. I hope doing that doesn’t mess with our friendship, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t sort of like it. I wonder if tailgating with Rob will ever be the same?

Heath Grayson writes erotic fiction featuring men who've just found out there may be more to life than they ever imagined. His debut series, But We're Bros!, depicts guy friends crossing lines that bros typically don't. Heath is fascinated by the quiet moments between men, how a single stare, repeated joke, or the simple brush of a hand can turn into something much more. The first time with your good bro can change your world.

Epilogue, please! Or, sequel. If you read this one of the series it is a good example of the character depth the author is providing. I knew from the first time I read one of these novellas that it is far better than a shallow PWP.
This particular book had the thought provoking premise of a nascent power exchange relationship. The best scene was the total honesty of Brian letting Rob know how angry and hurt he was at no aftercare after being together for the first time. Excellent dialogue! I appreciated all of Brian’s honesty in other scenes, too, and in his interior thoughts. The story is his POV.
Rob was either a love him or hate him guy, but was totally smoking hot either way.

Ugh, Rob is the worst. I probably would have enjoyed this more if I’d liked him at all.
