The plot is just okay for me, I read this series for the healthy polyam relationship.

I hate miscommunication, and this book is the exact opposite of that. I learned so much form it about boundaries and communication. There are four people involved and the moment a problem comes up, they talk about it to nip it in the bud.

I can only recommend it, the characters are amazing.

3.5

I enjoyed this a lot, though I'll admit I didn't love it quite as much as book one. The reasons are 100% personal preference sort of stuff though. Before I get to that, let me extol the virtues of the book. The writing is clean and easy to read. I adore the characters and that they believably struggle with learning to tolerate/like/love one another over time. I liked the inclusion of shards of real-life that often get glossed over during sex scenes, like washing hands after certain activities, etc. I love that we get everyone's point of view and the mystery has kept me guessing. Over all, I'm 100% looking forward to book three. But I did have complaints, personal ones, but complaints all the same.

One of my biggest annoyances in sexy-time books is what I call 'instructional sex' or 'instructional kink.' It's not that I think instruction or clear communication of boundaries and expectations is bad in any way. But you don't have to have read many of such books before it all gets repetitive. I've just read explanations of various kinks or relationships or safe words/signs, etc so many times in so many books that I'm bored with it. It tends to make me skim.

And Raven's Song has quite a lot. There are four people in the relationship, various kinks, and various interpersonal expectations. So, I felt like over half the book is 'instructional,' in the 'this is how we do things' or 'this is how this works' or 'this is where my line is' sort of ways. I thought it bogged the narrative down.

Understanding, of course, that readers were probably meant to go, 'Aww, look how open and communicative they are all being' and readers who enjoy that will love this book. Because I do think Nottingham did a good job with it and the characters are wonderfully communicative with one another. But I just find it boring in the extreme, since it's all just a variation on something read before.

Similarly, the sex here didn't light me up. I thought for having three men involved, who were all meant to be very different, all the sex felt same-same. I wouldn't have been able to tell one man from another without names. And the descriptions themselves didn't appeal to me. I understand that one characters has a rough bent, but I found myself pinching my knees together protectively during his sex scenes.

Note, I said knees. It wasn't the slapping or even the degradation (though that's not my favorite kink). I could handle that a lot more easily than just how generally indelicate his treatment of her delicate bits is. Everything is described as some sort of motoring in hard, fast, rough ways. But not in a sexy (for me) way. More like you'd push a doorbell or scrape paint—something that takes force to overcome resistance. I'm complaining, I think, more of the language in the descriptions than the use of kink or even the acts themselves. But it all felt very gross-motor and unappealing to me. But again, THAT IS A PERSONAL PREFERENCE sort of complaint, not a quality.

All in all, there were a few not-for-me aspects, but at least one of them I feel like has been done and shouldn't need to be carried over into the next book and I'm eagerly awaiting further coming together of the four individuals and the mystery. I look forward to the next book.

The first book was a lot better because of the pacing. I understand how important all of the.. explanations and feelings are surrounding the characters but it really bogs down the story. Probably about 200 pages of this book were extremely unnecessary and repetitive. It killed my interest in the story and I won’t be finishing the series.

If you have not read the first book stop reading this review now and go read it.

I WARNED YOU. WHAT LIES BENEATH WILL POSSIBLY SPOIL THE FIRST BOOK!!

With this book, we pick right back up where book 1 ended. We see all four of them, Rain and her three men, trying to adjust to the new relationship dynamic and living arrangements. Seeing how Rain and Graham's house got burnt down they need a place to stay. It just so happens that Erza and Warren have plenty of extra rooms.
Throughout this book, there is a lot of focus on the relationships. Especially Warren and Rain's because there is a lot of stuff to overcome and trust to build between them. However, we also get to see the friendships between Graham and Warren plus Ezra as well. Even though there is a lot of focus on relationships the plot and suspense of the book do not suffer. The woman in black is still just as frustrating because she can't just come out and tell them what is going on, but we learn so much more this time. Just enough to keep you coming back for more.
Graham was instantly my favorite guy from book 1 and this book just cemented it in stone. However, I loved that we got to learn more about Warren and who he is as a person. What I loved the most is that throughout this book each character helped another character grow just a little bit. Rather it was in their romantic relationship or helping them become friends with someone else. Charlie has a way of wrapping up the main plot in the story but leaving us wanting so much more. I can't wait for book 3 to come out.

Loved book one. Loved this one too. It reads as one of the healthiest Polyam books I’ve literally ever read. They communicate a ton about the relationship dynamics, safety, consent. And I’m so here for it. It helps that our FMC is new to this kind of relationship so it doesn’t feel like a lot of exposition.
It’s also giving lots of plot. It’s paranormal, with our FMC being a witch and our love interests various other supernatural creatures. I’m still really loving the world and the lore. And the backstory we get for our woman in black was one of my favorite parts of this book.
Anywho, I’d definitely recommend reading book one if you haven’t already and picking up this one too!

This author has the ability to completely ensnare you into their worlds and you become emotionally invested in all the characters to the point where their loss is your loss and their win is your win. This book had a decent amount of spice and world building while still adding into the background of the characters and their situation.

Warren......

I received this book as an ARC copy for a free and fair reciew.

AMAZING, I usually rate books within genre's to be fair, but this one goes on my all time, all genre list as a 5 star.

Firstly...the woman in black and her backstory... oh my goodness. I literally could not put this book down until I had finished it ! The action is quite fast paced, there were moments where my heart was in my throat and then normal everyday moments that took me back to my own experiences, like learning how to drive. These parts flow seamlessly into each other and I love how easy it is to read these books.

And then we get to know Warren in this book ... I'll just leave that there.

If you loved Raven's Cry you are going to love this one even more!!!

Before I start this review I just have one word to say… WARRENNNN!!!! That man says and does the dirtiest things and I was all for it.
But..butttttt let’s not leave my sweet sensitive playful fae Graham behind because he raised the level of spice up too.

Those MM scenes which is not something I’ve had a chance to read more of but oh myyyy.

Now with that said..when I saw that earlier this month I received the ARC for Raven’s song the second book in the Raven’s Cry series i was ecstatic. The best way to celebrate being covid free after 3 weeks. No hesitation..i rushed right into the story and Charlie Nottingham did such an amazing job. I absolutely fell in love with book one and was IMPATIENTLY waiting for book two.

Again, I can not praise the author enough for not only writing a polyamourous relationship and a bi relationship between 2 males that was respectful to both communities. She did not romanticize or fetishism to the lifestyle and did it justice in the representation with the amount of knowledge and search she put into her story. As well as giving us more insight educationally on certain sexual topics.

The story picks up right after someone burned Rain and Graham’s home down. A vengeful demon and no one understands why he targeted Rain. Who is he? With nowhere else to go, Rain has no other option but to move into her vampire boyfriend Ezra’s necromancer boyfriend Warren’s house with her elite fake boyfriend Graham. Ohhh yeah confusing. Rain doesn’t like to depend on anyone for anything so it’s overwhelming to have to take a hand out as she calls it. Especially when she’ll have to live with Warren. A murderer for hire and someone she does not trust. She does not trust his profession or what he is.

Can she feel safe? Can she learn to trust Warren? Is being what he is really what the paranormal community has made it out to be?
To top it off she still has the mysterious woman in black popping up whenever she feels like it. But now she has decided to share flashbacks from before. Who she was and why it's important to know who she was, what she was and her life. It's all connected in a way. But boy does she pick the absolute worst times to show Rain some of her past. However, adding in more about the woman in black was a chef’s kiss even if it only left you wondering …the author did amazing in feeding us information that will only leave us asking for more.

The action was fast paced ..add in the spice, getting to know more about our characters, seeing some of the characters branch out more, the mystery, the threat and danger, and that one part that had my poor heart in a chokehold with emotion.

Charlie had me one moment with my fan on blast because 🥵.The next i’m on edge with my heart in my throat , another i’m trying to puzzle pieces things together and in another i’m in tears.

This book was so good and it's among one of my top favorites so far for 2022. The characters, the plot, the writing style, the worldbuilding, the dynamics, spice …just absolutely everything and will sit here IMPATIENTLY waiting again for book 3.

I received a free copy of this book directly from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

I don't usually do reviews because my thoughts usually don't make sense, but here's the thing: I haven't read many books that focus so much on growth and communication in a relationship. I have read many reverse harems that had an "easy dynamic" simply because of the world or the previous connection they had with each other; but these books are so different from that. It feels refreshing to see a story that addresses so much jealousy, boundaries and other stuff that are important in relationships (even in monogamous ones!!).

And I wasn't only pleased with the poly aspect of it. I was in love with the queer discussions that have happened both on book one and in this one. It is extremely important to address the issues there are towards being queer, like family and people in general. I find that the author makes it clear that only because it's fictional, doesn't mean that some insecurities don't exist. Ezra and Warren's relationship is so great, they are great for each other, but their biggest issue is the fact that they can't be affectionate with each other because Ezra's afraid of other people's perception of them. Being comfortable around your sexuality, and your partner, doesn't mean that you feel safe being who you are and the way the author went about it? Flawless.

Also, the BDSM aspect of it?
Amazing. Honestly, I'm not inserted in this world whatsoever and whatever knowledge I have is based on books and conversations I've had, but this is exactly what I feel like a relationship like this should be like. The conversation about boundaries was extremely necessary and I found the fact that Warren was concerned about Ezra and Graham's view of sex being different from his heartwarming. He acknowledged that, just because him and Rain are comfortable with their dynamic with each other, doesn't mean that it won't be concerning for other. It's a simple way of thinking, but I still feel like it is worth mentioning.

Besides that, I loved that their conversation about boundaries wasn't only the sexual kind. I know this has a lot of sex in it. Like, a lot. But it has so many social discussions around it that don't make the book heavy??? So I love it. So much.

This review is mostly around my love of the discussions, but I'd like to say: I love the characters and the plot. Rain, Graham, Warren and Ezra are amazingly done characters, as are the side ones, and I can't wait to have more of it in the future. The plot was amazingly done, and although frustrating, I found Amelia to be one of my favorite characters in this as well because of her perkiness, her caring, her strength. I loved the concept, as much as I love this story and its characters.

5 stars through and through.

I don’t normally do book reviews on sequels in a trilogy, but for this steamy paranormal romance, I was more than happy to make an exception!

The characters may be vampires, witches and fae, but in terms of personalities and emotions, they couldn’t be more human. And I just love them, from the feisty female protagonist, Rain, to all 3 of her lovers. There’s her best friend and Fae companion, Graham, who always puts Rain first, the vampire and doctor Ezra who couldn’t be more of a gentleman and sweetheart, and Warren, who is both vampire and necromancer, and loves to flirt (amongst other things).

This book has plenty of humorous and witty moments that are sure to make you smile time and again.

This is a book that features poly-amory, and there are quite the variety of sex scenes, including M/F, and M/M.

As for the plot, I really didn’t know what to expect after the first book in the series, but suffice to say I already knew the characters were in danger. I don’t want to give too much away about the plot, but what I will say is that there are some overarching themes, namely poly-amory, boundaries, and necromancy.

The sex scenes bring the reader in gradually. They are relatively tame at first, but build dramatically as the tome progresses. And as per the first book in the series, they are very well done.

I wasn’t expecting to like the M/M scenes, but with the male characters fantasizing about female character Rain during the scene, this made these scenes a lot more palatable for me and I can honestly say that I enjoyed them.

I was also pleasantly surprised to discover just how a threesome could play out when all involved had genuine, caring feelings for one another rather than merely lust. That said, some of the sex scenes were out and out power plays.

I’m going to be honest and say that some of the sex scenes weren’t my cup of team, but they were eye-opening and I don’t regret reading them (no spoilers!). It wasn’t so bad that it would put me off reading the next book in the series. And I will be reading the next book because my curiosity has piqued.

I’m something of a newbie to reverse harem books, so there were things I was learning about for the first time, such as there being different types of consent and different types of dominant personalities.

It was nice to live vicariously through these characters, but equally it was also nice to return to my practically stress free life afterward.

I am terribly sorry for the delay in this review; I will admit that I wanted to give some thought on this prior to writing it and then life got in the way.

In hindsight this book was quite enjoyable, over all I would give this a 3.5 but generously rated it as a 4. I did not love it as much as I did in the first book because the supernatural and mystery elements are more lacking in this book and felt like they took a back seat. However, I am a sucker for ghost stories so I quite enjoyed the parts that were sprinkled throughout.

Additionally, the romance between the third romanceable character and the main lead is quite forced in the beginning. For a significant portion of the book the main character's voice is lost and only resurfaces in the later chapters. During this section of the book she reads more like the author's voice/narration rather than her own as justification overrides and rushes what could have developed more naturally and true to the characters. It was hard to read because of this.

I do like that this book is a healthy introduction into BDSM even if its bogs down the narrative (very 101 introduction vibes) but in other sections it jumps straight into the deep end. Having characters exploring kink is great, however, for someone experienced introducing this to someone new he goes too hard too fast and too broad-spectrum across kinks from the very start. On one hand this does get explained as a character flaw it but on the other hand this could have been built up a lot more and slowly increased in intensity without losing the same passion. It was rushed in a similar fashion as this romance was unlike in the last book.

I do like that this book series continues to be a good representation of healthy communication within polyamorous relationships and great representation for bisexual men. I do also like that each of the lovers have different interests, personalities, and kinks.

I am excited to see what happens in the next book. I am intrigued by the history repeats itself vibes. However, I hope that we'll see a return of the supernatural aspects and that the romance is able to flourish rather than being forced into any particular direction.

yeah i’m out. the relationships seems lopsided. i despise ezra. warren is okay untill we get to the smut scenes then he actually terrifies me. don’t get me started with how graham literally is not okay with this dynamic. it’s like paragraphs of the author trying make me believe he’s okay when he clearly isn’t. he has no one but rain. everyone else has agency over their life but not him. at some point in the first book he starts spiralling about he has nothing and it was heart breaking and then the author just makes rain go through a almost death situation to convince him to stay. no convincing..no grovelling.. nothing but a weak apology and a sex scene

rain is pretty selfish. everything is about her and out of no where she’ll be like i’m an independent woman. eye roll…i know in the rh reading community ppl like that. everything to be about fmc. i just can’t. i want characters i want to root for. i don’t like how she treated graham in the first book. i don’t like how ezra treated him until a couple chapters ago and she didn’t defend him.

the author gives these lectures through the characters about polyamory, consent and stuff like that which i thought was fine in the first book. it’s still happening. i get two of the characters are new to it but still. also the author said there would be plot without sex. sure there would be but most of the dynamic between the characters is about sex and speaking about it leading to most the book being about it.

the bdsm was actually scary. i’m not built for that. my anxiety couldn’t. he slapped her face. her face! i was so scared i skipped it. warren is here to stay so i’m out.

am i curious to find out about amelia and davies and how their link the four them? yes am willing to go through these long ass books about characters i don’t like and scare me? no

dnfed at eighty four percent ( i really gave it a good try despite all my grievances)

Thank you a million and one times to Charlie for providing me with an ARC of Raven’s Song!

This was 110% Warren’s book, oh my god. And also The Woman in Black! Not only did we get to learn more about the mysterious Warren, Ezra’s partner whom we briefly met in book one, we got to see the relationship dynamics evolve. I love the exploration of polyamory in this series and the healthy conversations that all four of the characters have. Things like boundaries and expectations are laid out and spoken about and I so appreciated the normalization of it all. It’s not an uncommon thing to read about in romance books, but more often than not, you don’t get the discussions that the characters had in this book. Usually it’s just like “oh here’s four guys and one girl and they’re all together and it’s cool” which is fine, don’t get me wrong! But I really loved how Warren and Ezra were so helpful with helping Rain and Graham to understand the relationship dynamic and making sure everyone was comfortable. And getting to see the ups and downs of it made things feel even more realistic because let’s face it, no relationship is perfect. I’m just having a fantastic time seeing these four evolve in this series!

I also was so excited to see that we got a ton of backstory on The Woman in Black with this book, oh my gosh. She was such a mystery in book one but so much was revealed about her and it made me love her and appreciate her so much more. She’s a wholesome little bean and I will protect her with my life, okay?

I’m so excited for book three and I know that we’re going to get crossover with Arcane Gods with that one and I just want to warn that I will be absolutely feral when that happens. I’m ready and prepared to wait as long as it takes for the next installment!

Maybe 2.5 ⭐️
It took me over a week to finish this book and even then I DNFd it. I thought about stopping halfway through but pushed through bc I was hoping it would get more interesting. Unfortunately I was rather bored through most of this. But honestly the biggest reason I stopped reading was the characters. By the time I stopped I was hoping the FMC would just run away with Warren and be done with it and I’ve NEVER thought that in a way choose.
My biggest issue was Ezra and his never ending need for things to be equal. Equal kisses and I love yours before leaving for the day is an example. Yet HE wasn’t equal in his affection. I get he was traumatized bc he got knocked out and woken up to some men beating his gay lover to near death but ummm what about said lover who was also beaten black and blue for being gay. It’s like he never considered Warren’s feelings at all just his trauma. He publicly announces he’s dating Rain, has no issues making out with her were people can see but heaven forbid he give his DECADE OLD LOVE a kiss in a deserted parking lot. What a dick.
Then there’s Graham who frankly I couldn’t care less about. He’s constantly whining and uncomfortable with the set up- ok I get that but things aren’t going to change so do we have to constantly be reminded of his jealousy. And all I really see him do is eat and lazily watch tv CONSTANTLY.
The kink also wasn’t good. Warren has some “darker” kinks (according to the book) but he never goes over boundaries and somehow doesn’t know if Ezra, who he’s been together with for decades, likes certain things. How how the hell does that happen.
We’ll rant over I think it’s definitely 2.5 ⭐️ now that I’ve ranted. I originally had it at 3 but I’m gonna drop that down.

This is an amazing book! I was an ARC reader so I’ve been waiting for release day to post my review 😂 The way this series works is so beginner friendly. Prior to reading this I’ve never read any reverse harem. Charlie introduces it in a very natural way. It’s the epitome of “why choose”. All the characters are very open and communicative even when they’re uncomfortable. Obviously Ezra and Warren are aware of how polyamory functions (this isn’t their first rodeo), but Rain is new to this. Graham is begrudgingly going along with this for Rain, but since he’s from the fae realm he understands how it works. I love that we finally get to see all of the woman in blacks backstory (and learn her name). Reading her POV was interesting. She knows all of this stuff that is supposed to happen and what needs to occur to get to that point, but she’s very withholding with that information. Obviously she has her reasons and she gives us bits and pieces, but it’s frustrating because I like to know everything 😂 Chapter 53 will piss you off. Somehow chapter 54 pissed me off even more. The spicy scenes are 👌🏻 and WARREN?!?! Just take me now please 🥵 All in all, this is a great series. I can’t wait for it to tie into Eluding Destiny in the 3rd book. I miss Jeremy 🥺😂 But seriously, stop debating and go read this freaking book already!

it’s ok

Once again this story was just ok. Rather than being a supernatural thriller with a main plot to solve, it’s a story about 4 supernaturals being in a poly relationship. The overarching plot accounts for about 15% of the book.

Look, I get that the author is taking a different approach to RH/poly relationships and how they’re started in a story, rather than falling into the insta-love/lust crap…. But when that’s the sole focus of an entire book and the plot line is an afterthought, it becomes very tedious.

Also, does the author not know any other way to talk about the vagina other than using the word cunt? 57 times he used the word in this book alone. And considering it’s from each characters POV, when it’s Rain’s POV and she talks about her cunt 8 times in one sex session, it just throws me out of the story. Never once have I met a woman her refers to vagina as her cunt.

In the first book, the author’s note said that if he faded the sec scenes to black, that there would be plenty of story to tell. That’s completely untrue especially if you include the 20 times they all sit around and just talk about their relationship and boundaries. Like I said, the plot of the Demon coming after Rain and Warren is an afterthought at best and that’s disappointing.

This is the first series I have read of Charlie’s and I’m now going to be a raving stalker waiting for new releases. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I was given an ARC copy for an honest review and am so glad I was given the chance to fall in love with Charlie’s work and world. Since this was the second book in the series I read the first book before (which y’all obviously need to do as well) but I LOVED how this book started fitting all these mysterious pieces together. Paranormal fantasy mystery with smoking smexy times. The bathtub and Graham 😛🔥You get WARREN 🥵🥵🥵🖤🖤🖤🔥🔥🔥 holy hell🤤. And we learn Lady in Black’s story. This series has kept me up at night reading way past bedtime, only to wake up with little sleep and do it again. I mean my day job only suffered a little right?! Things I loved: how they made communication so important in this quad love and how little things that are real life situations, that other authors just bypass, were mentioned in these books (like washing hands after 🍑 play 😏) the different dynamic of each relationship and the general writing style Charlie does that sucks ya into this world with chest aching and thigh clenching awesomeness. I.CANNOT.WAIT for book 3…until then…you will find me reading every book Charlie has released 🤌🏼🤌🏼

I received this book as an arc. I absolutely love this series! Charlie has a way to bring you fully into this world and leaves you wanting to keep reading. This book has amazing character development of all five of the main characters. It was amazing to learn more about the women in black, which book one left us questioning. I could not get enough of this book! You learn more about the women in black which book one "Ravens Cry" left us waiting for. This amazing book is a great mix of spicy fantasy. Charlie has a way of distinguishing the four (five including the women in black) POVs. She also has a way of pulling you into the story and making you feel like you are right there in the story like a tv show in your mind. I completely lost track of time when I was reading this book

This series is in the same world as her other books however you can read them without reading her other series I did this for the first book, after reading Ravens Cry I had to go and read her other books. There seems to be a crossover getting ready to happen in book three so be prepared to want to read the rest of her amazing series. If you love fae vampire angel and demon fantasy with Reverse harem/polyamorous stories this is the perfect book for you.

Overall,

I love this author, I follow her on TikTok and she is probably one of the few people I will sit and watch for a full 3 minutes. With that said, I did enjoy this book a lot even though I did not feel like there was a lot that actually moved the plot forward. There was a lot of relationship building which I did enjoy. The honest communication between all parties in this polyamorous relationship was good to see. Often times you don’t see that in books like this. They just say ok now we all love each other or there is no jealousy what so ever. The book delves into nurturing the relationships and always talking things out. I REALLY love that in romance novels. My least favorite trope is the miscommunication trope after all. The other things that occur in this book are mostly told in bursts as Rain gets visions from the past. I wont lie I am not 100% sure I know where this book is going, but I am defiantly here for the ride.

Recommendation,

This is an adult paranormal polyamorous romance by a fantastic indie author. It is free on Kindle Unlimited. If you enjoy books about witches, vampires, and ghosts, tied in with some spice, some mystery and loveable characters I would absolutely recommend this for you!

A fantastic continuation

Raven's Song picks up right where Raven's Cry leaves off and elaborates on the story so nicely.
There's lovely progression in every relationship, not just the romantic relationships and we get quite a few new characters!
The war in the car realms is touched upon, we find out what Warren is, the identity of the spooky veiled lady is revealed, and we learn so much more about who the person coming after Rain is.
Fingers crossed that book three tells us more about why this person is after Rain.
Theres a lot of focus on everyone's relationship and how they are all coming to terms with their new dynamic including the friendships and other emotional connections that develop between Ezra, Warren, and Graham. Theres also loads of focus on what people in relationships do behind closed doors and there's something spicy for everyone in this series.
I cannot wait for the next book.

This would have been three stars if not for the terrible kink.

As you can see, it took me over 7 months to even finish this book. I just... didn't care about any of it. There were too many flashbacks with the Lady in Black, and when even the main character is getting bored of it and questioning if she really needs all this info, then maybe that's a clue that the reader isn't going to be interested, either.

Also, for someone who's supposedly been doing kink for decades and has read a bunch of books on it, Warren is fucking terrible at it. Not once did he ever go over boundaries with Rain and later Ezra before just diving right in. And as someone who has supposedly been with Ezra for decades, you'd think Warren would know a lot more about his boundaries and hard nos.

The reveal at the end with Jake is the literal only reason I'm continuing with the third book, but it's already on thin ice.

This book has a hold of a piece of me and it’s not likely to ever let go.
I laughed, I cried, I cringed, and I got angry sometimes with the characters, and of course sometimes at the characters.
I feel like this book does a great job of letting us get to know all of our guys a little better in various ways that really cements a bond to them.
We also get a lot of side character action which I enjoyed and appreciated. Also if you were looking to learn more about the woman in black this book does give you that. (I have pages of notes and hints given throughout and I feel like I should know but am still struggling to place the characters around her and her.)

I am going to struggle everyday until the next book for sure but this book doesn’t end on a cliffhanger. Things are unresolved but she still gives a fabulous ending.

I was so lucky to receive this ARC to read, this review is my honest opinion...

I enjoyed reading the second part in this series. It was so good to read the backstory of Ezra and Warren's relationship, get to know the Lady in Black and her story and role in their fight against evil.

I absolutely loved the dynamics between Graham, Ezra, Warren and Rain. It was fascinating to read the building of relationships between those four characters.

It was written in such a way that explained a lot of their world and such a great read.

The sex scenes between Rain and her lovers were great, although a bit repetitive, I would have loved a bit more variation seeing as Rain is sleeping with 3 men but it was still enjoyable.

All in all, I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys this genre and looking forward to the next book!

Book 2 of the series brings an enjoyable mix of both plot and relationship building to Rain's world. Still quite a slow burn in movement of plot but it definitely kept me hooked.

The situation with the lady in black brings intrigue throughout with little snippets of what happened to her and why she's so involved with Rain.

I liked that the relationships had a genuine feel to their building and realistic expectations to Rain exploring polyamory and how it works for them all and their seperate relationships. A nice mix of spice thrown in there too.

I'm really looking forward to book 3 and hoping there's a little more spice thrown in there as well as some groups scenes that I feel it's been working towards.

I received an arc of this book and am leaving a review voluntarily.

*I was kindly given an ARC copy of this book, all opinions are my own.*

Holy heck! This was so good. This book 100% belonged to Warren, omg! The story was amazing, we got some really good insights into Warren, into the woman in black and we’re starting to get an understanding of what is going on in this world now.

And the spice! Holy heck. I have to admit the spice was a tad underwhelming in book 1 for me, but boy did it make up for it in this one! I’m SO excited to see the relationship progression in the next book. 🥵 There’s a lot of new kinks coming into play here, which was a nice and unexpected surprise.

Graham developed a lot as a character in this book too which I loved. All in all, a fantastic read and I will definitely be continuing with this series.

A gigantic thank you to Charlie Nottingham for the ARC!
This will be a spoiler free review.

I was not so patiently waiting for this bad boy to grace my email and let me tell you-It was well worth the wait!

I adored the relationship dynamic and communication between Ezra, Graham, Warren and Rain. It didn’t feel forced or rushed. We need more people like that in our world, okay! Proper communication has to be the sexiest thing I’ve read in a very long time!

I had so many questions after reading Raven’s Cry and they, thankfully, got answered without too much info dumping or complicated world building. This was a very comfortable and cozy read! Raven’s Song got me ready just in time for Fall!

Oh, and you can’t forget that smutty SMUT!

First, I would like to say WOW! I absolutely loved Raven's Cry, but Raven's Song!? So much better!! The story really draws you in trying to figure out who the Woman in Black is, what she wants with Rain, and who the mysterious man is that is after her. I am really glad we got to see the WiB's history from her own POV and get at least a few questions answered, even if we did get more questions along the way.
Warren!! Oh my dang, I did not see that spice coming!! That man really knows what he's doing!
Between the spice, the open communication and self awareness is a perfect blend to all the mystery and action going on. I can only see it getting better from here! Can't wait for the next book!

I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

Again I’m in love with this series!!!

Warren and Amelia are two of my favorite characters.
Her back story is so sad!!! But I love everything we learned.

I absolutely cannot wait for the third book. I’m excited for the rest of the lore to come out!

Graham is a sweetheart but honestly I would have been fine if he stayed as the best friend. The childish, golden retriever parts of him are just not my thing when it comes to a significant other. But it works for Rain so.

I need Warren to be her main squeeze though cause he is my favorite. Their first moment was so darn cute and sweet. The build up was immaculate.

The first book was wonderful and so was this one. These characters will have you wanting to know more about them with every page, and the story itself sucks you in so deep that I'm struggling to wait until it's resolution and I just finished this book, so the wait for the next one should be fun. I can't wait to see how this all falls together and get more moments between these four.

I loved every moment of this book, from the action, to the romance, to the communication between them all, to the mystery we're trying to unravel. Nottingham has crafted a world I'll want to come back to time and time again.

I received an ARC of this book to review. As always my reviews are honest.

This is the second book in the Raven's cry series and after enjoying book one I was looking forward to this book being released. It continues on with Rain's exploration of polyamorous relationships (FM, MM, MFM) and her pursuit of the lady in black and the secret she won't tell her.

The character development in this book was phenomenal. We learnt so much more about the characters, their histories and the lady in black. The writing style really pulls you in and helps you feel like you are part of the story. The plotline for the book was very character driven and I really enjoyed that.

The spice wasn't overwhelming in frequency considering the book was dealing with multiple relationships and was very well written 😲
