Midas #5

Perfect Satisfaction

Rate this book
It wasn’t my fault the jewel from my ring popped free and landed on the carpet in the first-class cabin on my way to Sin City. At first, I was too busy crawling on my knees, searching, to notice him. When he dropped to help me find it, how was I to do anything but focus on him?

I could have thanked him, leaving the temptation lurking in his jade-green eyes on his side of the aisle. He stalled that move by ordering me a drink, luring me in with humor, self-depreciation, and the one thing guaranteed to make my insides quiver.

Honesty.

Considering who my family is, I should have ignored the electricity between us. I didn’t. Bearing in mind my personal interactions with the press, I ought to be terrified of his presence. I wasn’t.

After our first night together, we became inseparable. In such a short time, he became my center. Lost in our haven amid the chaos of our lives, we were everything I never had.

But nothing perfect lasts forever.

Called to the carpet by the devil, I was informed my love—Arek Ronan— isn’t just any entertainment reporter; he’s the owner of StellaNova—a social “news” site revealing secrets left and right with only a thought to rankings.

I had a choice to make between two different loves. This time, I did the right thing.

Didn’t I?

But something’s happened. Now, I am being forced to live with Arek. It’s depravity, torture in its purest form. By the end, I know I will be a candidate for Bedlam after dealing with the man who chose to destroy my heart.

And him? He’s out for satisfaction. However he can get it.

Tracey Jerald knew she was meant to be a writer when she would re-write the ending of books in her head on her bike when she was a young girl growing up in southern Connecticut. It wasn’t long before she was typing alternate endings and extended epilogues “just for fun.”
After college in Florida, where she obtained a degree in Criminal Justice swearing she saw things she’ll never quite believe and never entirely forget, Tracey traded the world of law and order for IT. Her work for a global internet startup transferred her to Northern Virginia where she met her husband in what many call their own happily ever after. They have one son.
When she’s not busy with her family or writing, Tracey can be found in her home in north Florida drinking coffee, reading, training for a runDisney event, or feeding her addiction to HGTV.

WHAT I'M SUPPOSED TO DO WITH MY LIFE NOW?!

This story, you guys... I thought I was going crazy.
I wanted to strangle and hug the characters at the same time. Such an angsty story, I was on the edge the whole time, to scream, to cry... I still can't breathe properly.
Give me a break, Tracey, pretty please.

I don’t understand all the 5 star reviews of this book. It was 700 pages of nothing but back and forth about the same damn thing. It would have been over a lot sooner with just a few lines “ he is my brother” “ she is my childhood friend” “ we didn’t have sex with each other” but no- it was chapter after chapter of the same sh*t. “ I love him but he slept with her” I love her but she slept with him. Oh gosh I don’t know anything about my wife, how did I not know this about my wife ?” OMG it was exhausting!!!

Before I get into writing my review, if you’re coming here to read this as a stand-alone, stop completely. This should not be read as a stand-alone due to the relationships and situations that are constantly alluded to by the characters that clearly occurred in the earlier books. The about section of this book does not mention that, and I think it is a travesty.

At the same time, the book itself was good (even though I felt lost for a large portion of it), but it ended abruptly with no feeling of a HEA or HFN. As I read this on my kindle app, I was disappointed to see that there wasn’t more when I finished, but that the last 15% of the book were snippets from other books in the series. This could have wrapped up pretty neatly by instead ended with a weird statement and I’m just going to go out on a limb and guess that is what the next book will be about, but it was just a last sentence and done. No alluding to “see these characters in the next…” or whatever.

I rarely rate poorly but the abrupt ending and the fact that there wasn’t even a suggestion to read the others first put this one the low list for me. Maybe I’ll come back and read them all in order, but at this time, I definitely don’t see what happening.

Wow. just wow.....what a rollercoaster of emotion! Tracey is really good at pulling my emotions in 10 different directions and she sure didn't disappoint this time! However I did spend about 75% of the book yelling at the the characters to get their heads out of their a**es, but it made the story that much more engrossing for me. I became so invested in Arek and Sula, and LOVED that we got to finally know the story of the man behind StellaNova. the pages were pouring with emotion,-heartache, love, anger, pride, acceptance- Reading this book was like going through a 12 step program. One I am glad to ride again. Arek and Sula endure a raw, emotional ride of accepting a failed love/marriage only to hop on to a train taking them to the path of forgiveness and perhaps a second chance. This series as a whole has been a whirlwind and a beautiful adventure. fluid, beautiful and so real and raw story telling that immerses you into their world, while still keeping touch with reality. An amazing read!

Sula and Arek meet on a plane going to Vegas. After a few months they get married. She is still based out of London and Arek is New York. Then Arek betrays Sula. This is where the assumptions and misunderstandings start. With them not living in the same country. They don't have to deal with each other. When Sula’s father dies. His will states that she has to live with Arek for a year as a stipulation. So, her sibling will get his inheritance. This is a roller coaster of emotion for both of them. Will they be able to communicate and figure out their relationship before it is too late? Before there is too much hurt.
This was a great book. It is packed full of Angst. Neither one really knows the other person. So, when they realize what they thought was the truth and it isn’t. When all the “lies and deception” comes out. They are shocked and confused. Just be prepared to go through a lot of heartbreak.

Wow, this book actually consumed me from beginning to end . I felt like my emotions were hung, drawn & quartered.
My heart actually ached for the stories characters , Ursula, & Arek .

Secrets can hurt , misunderstandings can hurt, gossip can hurt , spoken & written lies can hurt , cruelty from a parent can hurt , but enduring all of this , & losing the love of your life , your forever….. your Moore , it will dim your light , & sadness will consume you . This is what happens to Ursula & Arek , neither are complete without the other .

As the saying goes , ‘ the truth will set you free ‘ , but when your truths involve others you all have to be on the same page for it all to be revealed.

This is such an outstanding must read

OMG i have no words for this masterpiece. This is a true novel - both in the length but more so in the story, plot and depth of characters. Arek and Ursula will CONSUME you - their story is magnetic. The pages fly by and draws you in. Ursula is perfect - she’s no pushover and dummy - and what she goes through in her lifetime isn’t pretty - yet, she persists…and she’s a force to be reckoned with. This is a story of love, second chances, and belief in the human spirit - that yes, NO ONE is perfect, but yet, we strive to move through it and find laughter and love in the end. Read this one - and you’ll be like me - wanting this novel to never end! Absolutely amazing work!!!

Sula and Aerk's story is one of finding and fighting for love. This is a story mired in landmines of hurt, secrets and false truths. Ursula grew up as not being enough. Aerk. wanted to be better than his father. Sula and Aerk's love was instant and burned bright until their own stubbornness tore them apart. Even in death, Sula was a pawn in her father's machinations as he forced Sula and Aerk together where they found their way back to love and the family they both always craved. I loved the strength of each of them as they found love in heartbreak. This might be one of my favorites in this series.

So how many times can you want to throttle people and hug them in the same breath? It happened so many times in this book. It’s just so much. So many feelings. How many times can a heart break for a character? Arek and Sula have lived with the sins and carelessness of their parents who have left them with secrets, scars and so much doubt and distrust that they can’t even trust themselves. You will have to go on this heartbreaking journey with them to understand everything you need to know that you didn’t know you needed to! You won’t regret it but words of wisdom keep fluffy things handy in case you need to throw a device it bounces and doesn’t break 😉

This raw emotional story will pull you in from the start. Area and Sula have a quite Journey. Riveting and beautifully written to give you all the feels and keep you in for long haul. Tracy Jerald is fairly new to me and after this story I will definitely read more from this author.

I received this copy and my spoiler free review is voluntary

Yeah, no. I was immediately annoyed, on page one, with the author's word choices and phrasing. I stuck with it for a few pages but just kept getting more and more annoyed by these things and also missing information that was not being explained but also didn't seem to be leading to anything. Just sloppy. DNF.

Bloody Brilliant

An emotional punch from page one. Tracey Jerald makes you call in love with the reality of love, not a slicked up illusion o% it.

Too long, but still good

I think this could have been much shorter but I did enjoy following the journey of Sula and Arek. What a love story!

“The loneliest place to be is inside your own head when your heart won’t stop beating.”

Tracey Jerald is one of my all time favorite authors! Her story telling is incredible. I fall in love with the characters with each new story. Arek and Sula’s love journey will take you for an emotional, gut wrenching ride. I absolutely loved this second chance romance!
