A classic western novel from Frank Wheeler with non-stop epic adventure and a blend of western romance
It was an hour before he finally caught sight of the bandits. Jude shot first… and last. When it was over, he picked up the boy he found sitting in the dark, silently crying over his murdered family. He covered the boy with a blanket and took him to the sheriff.
“With his parents dead, what will happen to him?” Jude asked.

Unbelievably bad, and not in a good way. Heroes avoiding bullets after they'd been fired and a plot that desperately in need of a direct hit. Mr Wheeler could do better.
Compassionate, compassionate, compassionate, says it all about this compelling western masterpiece!

I've read many of Wheeler's books and for the most part I have enjoyed them, but it seems lately that he for some reason feels the need to use the Lord's name in profanity. There is absolutely no need for that in these Western stories. Did these men in reality use that kind of profanity?? I'm sure they did.....but it adds nothing at all to the stories, and for me personally, it takes away..... There are way too many authors out there writing similar stories that don't use the Lord's name in a profane manner so if Mr Wheeler wishes to continue to do so, I'll read those other authors.
The main character can load a LaMar faster than domineering speed loaders . He can also kill people from afar while hAving bullets hitting all around him, then turn around aim his Win heater at a person real close holding his girlfriend hostage as instead of shooting him shoots 1bullet knocking the in one out of the bad guys hand then proceed to miss .let everyone else he shoots at. I could Not finish the last few chapters without wondering if I would !one my dinner firxt.
About Jude’s LeMat: the historical LeMat has two barrels, one of which fires a 20-gauge shotgun shell. Jude mowed down his enemies, never missing ‘nary a target— without ever firing the .20 gauge? C’mon, would that be realistic in a shootout?
This was a really great western novel. It was full of action and adventure with plenty of shootouts and just a touch of romance. It was the story of a man who sought revenge for the killing of a boy who was a deaf mute that he'd raised as a son. It was very well written and one of the best westerns I've read. I would highly recommend it!
I enjoy the storylines in the books by this author, but some of the things he says about what horses do drive me nuts! Horses don't lap up water; slurp, guzzle, swallow, yes. Nor do they bark. It sounds like he needs to spend some time with a real horse instead of a dog. But I love all of his books so far!
Jubel is the son of a saloon woman. He never knew his father. He adopts a deaf mute boy. They have to move often because of prejudice. A murderous gang kill the boy, and Mundo vows vengeance.
He is offered a job with the Texas Rangers after shooting about a dozen Rangers in the shoulder or knee?? Get real !! A gunshot in those areas could disable a person. Also is he Superman"faster that a speeding bullet"??

Wow, great characters, lots of adventures. Jude had a hard live but was kind. He saved a boy who family was killed by bad men. They kept traveling and running into more bad men and people who needed saving.
A good western saga with a well written plot and outstanding characters. Contains plenty of action, suspense, and lots of bloodshed. A page turning read that I would highly recommend.
This book was poorly written and poorly edited. It seemed to go on and on to the point that I would skip whole chapters and still miss nothing of the plot.
