Tara Pammi can't remember a moment when she wasn't lost in a book, especially a romance which, for a teenager, was much more exciting than mathematics textbook. Before long, she was hiding romance novels within bigger textbooks, smuggling them into the home through her unsuspecting younger cousin’s school bag, and cycling more than a few miles to her favorite library to borrow more.

Through numerous ‘true’ loves :-) and traveling thousands of miles from family and friends, her attachment to books and especially romance novels stayed constant.

One fine day, toiling away as a grad student in a basement lab, Tara started typing the beginning of a story instead of her thesis. But it wasn’t until years later, encouraged by her real life hero, Tara realized what she truly wanted to do was to write.

Tara lives in Texas with her real life hero and her two little girls. When she isn't writing or reading, Tara can be found failing in the kitchen, watching TV or making resolutions to exercise more, or even a little.

There was so much build up for a payoff in the last like 20 pages. It seemed to drag on a lot. I also found that the connection between the two seemed a little forced and the lack of communication was a killer for me. I did enjoy some of the side characters and that the main character was a coder.

A horrible book

This book was very bad, the plot and characters were not very well developed. The h came off as insecure, whiny with low self esteem. The H was a good guy but his character was all over the place. The plot was horrible and it was hard to finish this book. There was no fluidity, just a lot of nonsense. No epilogue.

- short and sweet harlequin novel. Despite being short, it took us halfway before actually getting to the namesake bargain. I was skeptical of the age gap and the way that the MMC had known the FMC since she was 14… but I do feel it was handled in a way that didn’t feel icky. (Thank god)

Anushka had a crush on Caio since she started to visit her grandparents and half-sisters. The bond only deepens went they started to work together.

Years later she admits her feeling to him, before quitting it all, but it doesn't go all that well. But there is a company on the line and a marriage of convenience is the perfect solution. But soon mutual attraction proves to be too much.

I like the storyline, but there was a whole lot of telling and that much showing.

thanks to NetGalley & Harlequin for the ARC, all thoughts are my own

Featured in Harlequin Presents February 2023: Box Set 1 of 2. Marriage Bargain with Her Brazilian Boss isn't strictly accurate since Caio is more of a partner in the business than a boss, but I don't imagine that's the point. I was sceptical from the outset because Nush first met 27-year-old Caio at the age of 14 and they remain in close contact as business associates and friends, for lack of a better word. I don't mind the occasional May-December relationship, but I've seen the power dynamics turn sour often enough that I prefer to avoid them in fiction and I advise caution for (esp. <25) younger partners in real life. Nush and Caio are a classic example of the issues that can arise and as far as I can tell, the narrative delights in the power imbalance. Nush is so hung up on Caio that she has little romantic or sexual experience to speak of and though a talented software developer, she depends on him as much at 23 as she did in her teens, if not more so following her grandfather's death. In fairness, Nush considers--and discards--the possibility that she loves Caio because she imprinted on him in childhood (if I can paraphrase a little) and I know there's more to such a romance than power. I simply have no interest in these dynamics and I never have.

I found the transition from mentor/protector more uncomfortable than anything else as Caio struggles to separate Nush as a desiring subject from the child he once knew. It doesn't help that they married on the thinnest possible pretext, mere days after their first kiss. In general, I think the pacing could use some work. Their relationship is stop-start and so I never felt a real sense of momentum with them. More than once, I felt their conversations lacked the emotional weight that the narrative clearly anticipated. I had no investment in the outcome of his plan(s) and I was bored when . I don't mind a cliché and no doubt, it's a common response, but rather than depend on the same bum notes to persuade us, I would've liked to see the text do the work here. The isn't much of a surprise, but again, it felt rote when I wanted it to be well-earned. Marriage Bargain with Her Brazilian Boss doesn't have the strongest writing, thanks in part to overused turns of phrase, but it might be worth a read if you're into relationships with a significant power imbalance.

Anushka has had a crush on Caio since she was a teenager and he was hired as her grandfathers protege. After her grandfather’s funeral Anushka tells Caio her true feelings and he rejects her, however she now holds the shares in the company he needs to run it how he would like. The two agree to a marriage of convenience, but their attraction is always just below the surface.

In true Harlequin Presents fashion, this book is a bit bonkers which I am here for. I really liked both Anushka and Caio and found the story entertaining, though did find it did a lot more telling rather than showing. The two had great chemistry, and while this was a slower burn than most Presents, the heat was still there. I did find myself frustrated that some plot lines were not resolved by the end of the book. I also wish the book would have explored some more aspects of their relationship such as the age gap, but alas, there is only so much that can be done in 220 pages. Overall I was entertained and that’s all I ask of Presents.

Thank you to Harlequin for the gifted copy, and Harlequin and NetGalley for the digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I didn't like it.

I didn't like how things weren't really explained even in thoughts. For instance the extent of hero's relationship (almost merger/marriage) to Laura, it wasn't explained if they were dating, sleeping together or how he felt about her. It was unclear how close the marriage to other woman was to be and if the heroine hadn't inherited all the shares of the company (that hero was expecting to inherit himself) if he still would have married the other woman even after newly being aware of an attraction to heroine.

I didn't like that the heroine was the one to propose marriage to the hero and she basically pursued him and kept throwing herself at him. He had accepted that she was leaving and that she was going to have relationships with other men, also it seemed he was going to still marry the other woman, then heroine proposed marriage.

Hero did want heroine, but his revenge plot was more important and it felt like he accepted her proposal more for the stocks than for her. I felt he would have married the other woman if heroine hadn't inherited all the shares he needed. Np.

Age gap romance. This wasn’t a bad book, just not a good book. First, there was a lot of editing errors, wrong words in multiple places….it needs to be proof read.

I loved the FMCs sweetness and she did have a lot of hidden strength but she came off desperate. The MMC talked really badly to her and she glossed over it. She really put herself out there and never did he have consequences nor have to apologize for tearing her down like he did.

Not much of a climax here either. No excitement and the build up isn’t much. I kept expecting something to happen and kept getting let down. For an example Spoiler****there is another woman introduced that I expected would cause issues..,I mean why is she being introduced right? But nothing other than a small scene at the wedding that he does work with her. ****

I want to say I recommend for a light read but it’s difficult because it really is a downer type of book. It wasn’t really fluffy but it wasn’t dark either. I guess I can say I recommend if you’re looking for something easy. It was a very easy read. If you’re looking for anything other than easy, I definitely do not recommend.

This is my first reading anything by Tara Pammi and I must say that I will be reading more books by this author. This is Caio and Anushka marriage of convenience journey to romance. This was a great read; great characters and I so enjoyed the plot. Caio is working for Anushka who is a coding genius. Caio knows that she should not be having feelings for her super sexy alpha boss but what’s woman to do. Anushka comes to Caio with a proposition a marriage of convenience and has vowed to never give her his heart. I don’t know why would Anushka say he could never give Caio his because his heart was there for taking. These two are great together and I enjoyed reading about their journey to romance.

I received an ARC via NetGalley HARLEQUIN - Romance (U.S. & Canada), Harlequin Presents and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

Marriage Bargain with her Brazilian Boss by Tara Pammi, book one in her Billion-Dollar Fairy Tales series is Caio and Anushka’s marriage of convenience journey toward romance. This was a great read; wonderful characters and an enjoyable plot. Caio is working for Anushka who is a coding genius. Caio knows that she should not be having feelings for her hot alpha boss but what’s woman to do when attraction and chemistry exists. Anushka approaches Caio with a proposition, a marriage of convenience. He vowing that he would never be able to give her his heart; until he does. These two are great together and their journey to romance is an enjoyable read. I definitely recommend Marriage Bargain with her Brazilian Boss to other readers.

Setting aside the fact that the title and blurb make a promise that the book doesn't meaningfully deliver on, this isn't terrible. It isn't great, but I think it has decent bones. My biggest issue is that it doesn't deliver anything that I expect to see in a marriage of convenience, he isn't her boss, and the age gap was a little cringey. I liked that Nush is a coder, and I wish that had been played out more in the text. I think it would have been much more interesting to explore the fact that Caio was her mentor and a close family friend than that they agreed to marry for business reasons. I would have loved more exploration of both their backgrounds and how that impacts them as people.

Marriage of convenience with a hot Brazilian who she has liked/known since she was a teenager. Once her grandparents pass she tells Caio her real feelings and their past come up. We got some crazy plot with love, stock options, tech, billionaire hot old man, money, board politics, company politics, and finally Brazil.

We get a hot age gap romance with some billionaire on both sides and then a trip to Brazil where the heat comes out in not just the weather.

This Story Had Sooo Much Potential Unfortunately The Author Couldn’t Pull It Off. She Introduced A h Who Love HEA And Couldn’t Even Write A Story Where You Can Imagine That Being So Never Mind Why The Couple Would Even Want A HEA. This Author Goes On My DNBL, This Us The 2nd Story That Left Me COLD .

This books was a pleasant wayto pass the time but not really memorable. I would recommend Harlequin readers to grab a copy for their wait in the doctors office or for a long flight while on vacation.
