I have been subscribed to Kat's newsletter and have followed her on Instagram from a while, so I was interested to see what her book would be like. She opens by discussing her theory of "imperfectly perfect is good enough" and mentions that different households will have different requirements. However, that didn't stop me from feeling intimidated as I read through the pages. If I tried to do the tasks she does to the same schedule, my barely stolen 5.5 hours of sleep a night would drop to 4.5 hours! Granted, our household situations are very different, but I still felt stressed and guilty with the sudden thought that I am not doing enough, even though I clean regularly. The book therefore had a slightly negative impact on me, but that doesn't mean it will be the same for all readers. I already have a cleaning schedule in place, even if it's not at Kat's level, and I already follow her advice with regards to meal planning. The people I think this book would be most helpful to are those newly living alone/with a new partner or who've recently added to their family and who are struggling to establish a routine to keep on top of their cleaning. In that regard, I think Kat has some wonderful advice to offer. Likewise, if you struggle with grocery expenses and often have difficulty deciding what to cook each night, following her meal planning/pantry suggestions would likely be of help. Overall, I would give this book four stars. The layout is good, the information clearly presented, and there are plenty of excellent tips in it, but it's going to suit certain people more than others, and approach it in the knowledge that it might make you feel momentary horror when you compare Kat's routine to your own.

I received this book as a free eARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoy cleaning and organising and have been following Katrina on social media for a while now so I was very happy to get my hands on this to read. This book helps to make cleaning feel simple and straightforward by breaking it down into manageable and doable steps. I paticularly love the index in the book which is great for finding a quick solution for how best to clean something all with some pretty simple inexpensive ingredients we all pretty much have at home. I love a multi tasking cleaning product instead of having to have an array of cleaning solutions in my cupboard. A very handy book to keep near by. #thecleanhome #katrinaspringer #tea_sipping_bookworm #goodreads #thestorygraph #amazonaustralia #amazonkindle #litsy #bookqueen #bookstagram

I really enjoyed this book. I am a new home owner and found my house very large/overwhelming to clean. This book helped to make cleaning feel simple and straightforward. I didn’t need to google how to clean certain things in my house- simply used her index at the back… found my topic.. then on the page she described exactly how to clean. Without using super harsh or expensive chemicals. This book may not be suited to someone who already has a good cleaning routine. But for a newbie like me, it definitely gave me tips and tricks that I appreciated!

An Australian blogger gives you lists of what to clean and when to clean and how to clean. Quite a good book, includes a few recipes for home made cleaners. If you want to make a cleaning routine this book might help. If you’re useless at cleaning it will definetly help.

Very simple instructions. In 100 years, if we’re not busy fighting the water wars, this will be great for anthropologists.

I found this one quite repetitive. Bottom line, if you want something cleaned use water, vinegar and an essential oil.
