Wilted Iris is the debut collection of poetry from writer Jeym Axle. The book chronicles a tumultuous relationship through a fluid, well-paced narrative.
I know it is difficult to push modern poetry collections, but the lack of exposure this one has gotten is a major let down. "let me up" is one of my favorite modern poems, but who can I discuss it with? Absolutely no one! I also love the cover--the way the iris is shaped into an eye. But who has seen it? The lack of discovery is almost a part of the art itself. Is it purposeful? Who knows?
