I'm from New York and I loved how the author got the vibe right. Sometimes when I read books placed in NY, I'm like this isn't right but Lindsey knocked it out of the park.
I loved the authenticity with the characters. They felt real and like I could be friends with them.
The who dun did it threw me for a loop. I had two people in mind and when I was wrong the first time I said let me just chill and see what happens. lol.
I loved the story here and all the subplots and things that might have gotten glossed over (love the sister relationship).
all in all a great read and if you're looking for a thriller def pick this up!
I was gifted this book a while back and recently picked it up to read. I shouldn’t have waited so long to get to it because it was a really good thriller. I was wishing I could speed read through this book because I needed to know what happens next.
Serenity moved across the country to be closer to her big sister but then she suddenly goes missing and is presumed dead. Serenity is pretty positive she knows who did it but then that person turns up dead.
While Serenity is trying to build a life in her new home in New York and meeting a new beau, she now must try to find out what happened to her sister but she gets no rest when she then receives another horrific phone call. Within a matter of weeks, things just keep getting worse but then gets better, then bad again and then even more worse.
This book had me suspecting everyone and I mean EVERYONE!
This book has a great plot, likable characters, a little romance, and a lot of mystery (thriller) that ties it all together. I love a book that isn’t afraid to portray therapy, therapists, and mental health in a raw, unfiltered way. I’ll take the good, the bad, and the ugly. Just give me honesty! Liked the character development, and the buildup of mystery. David was the killer in my mind,so I was surprised with his death. I was surprised when Samaya was found. Louis needs to be cloned. I finished the book at 5:00am and it was worth it, even if I had to get up at 9:30am. A great 1st novel and I look forward to the next one.
