Finally the Osaka arc is over. Kei Kurono is revived. Another Kato lover dies. And the Osaka team legends are all dead! Taking all the points they accumulated to the grave, which is sad really this arc had tons of points to go around.

This whole volume is just one big fight. Against the same foe who seems unkillable. But after every single member who survived so far teams up they use their combined tactical fighting to take down the unstoppable-like monster. But that's not all! We see who survived and who didn't make it at the end, a return of an important character, and the end game to the series. That's right folks, mankind is ending soon!
Good: The fights are always pretty great. Some kills in here are pure fucked up and others just gory for the sake of it. The ending was good, set up pieces for this series to continue for sure. Oh, and vampire man became useful for once.
Bad: The shouting, standing still, 9 panels of the same scene, can get a bit annoying. Also, this felt like the LEAST amount of deaths in the series. Interesting.
Overall another balls to the walls action packed volume. While it lost it's shock value it still remains pretty entertaining. A 3 out of 5.
Nurarihyon regenerates back and start shooting randomly. Takeshi getting shot and lost him arms. Kaze fights Nurarihyon ragefully in order to complete the mission and saves Takeshi. But, he lose. Nurarihyon transformed into its final form and leaves the Tokyo team to hunt down Oka.
At that time, Kato and his remaining team come up with a plan; they will attack Nurarihyon from out of Nurarihyon's senses. Kato stay as a bait. After a while, Nurarihyon arrives with Oka's upper body in its hand. Oka is dead! Kato buy some times, then BOOM! Nurarihyon being attacked from out of its senses. The plan works. Nurarihyon started to shot laser beam randomly. Anzu arrives to save Kato from being beamed, and resulting to her death.
At the critical time, Hikawa comes from Nurarihyon's blind spot to disabling it. Kato used the gravity-like gun to give a final blow. Nurarihyon officially dead. The mission completed and they being transferred to the room. The surviving members for this mission are: Kato, Nishi, Reika, Inaba, Suzuki, Kaze, Takeshi, panda and the two vampires, Hikawa and Chiaki.
Kato got 100 points and revived Kurono. Before they leave, Nishi talk about incoming war. They only have 7 days and 23 hours before it happens.
Synopsis: Gantz tells the story of a teenager named Kei Kurono, among others, who die but find themselves brought back in perfectly healthy bodies and forced to participate in a "game" where they must hunt down and kill aliens.
Review: I almost gave up on Gantz several times, but now that I've read it all the way to the end, I'm glad I stuck with it. The beginning is dragged down by repulsive and unlikable characters, a messily paced story, unnecessary sexualization and gratuitous violence without much substance. As it progresses, however, the character development becomes pretty incredible and the growing threat of the enemies feels truly well done. Once the real enemies are revealed, it's mind-blowing how the series had been secretly foreshadowing their arrival from the very beginning.
Although it takes a while, some really good characters are introduced later on in the series and they're the ones that made me want to read to the end. Some characters that were absolutely unbearable in the beginning became polar opposites of their original selves and even made me sympathize with them quite a bit. The protagonist Kei for example, I hated him with all my heart for the first third of the series, he became progressively more likable in the second third of the story and then he evolved into one of the most memorable, unlikely heroes I've ever seen in this storytelling medium throughout the final third. The last third of the series is unbelievably terrifying with some of the most gruesome and disgusting battle/survival scenes in the history of fiction. It's much more bearable and intense in the final third because this time the violence and horror is happening to people we actually care about instead of a bunch of unlikable nobodies.
The final third of the story is what made me feel so glad that I didn't give up on this series. It had me on the edge of my seat more times than I can recall. There are a ton of chapters but they're very short and full of action which makes the series a quick read despite having almost 400 chapters. So even though the first third of the story was kinda bad in my opinion, it doesn't last for long and the payoff that comes after it's over truly impressed me. It's a flawed, thrilling and horrifying action series that takes a while to kick off. When it finally kicks off, however, it kicks off extremely hard.
If you thought the boss alien was overpowered in the previous volume, well, as per the author's usual antics, you ain't seen nothing yet. The way it was taken down... wasn't particularly satisfying, but at least the team actually did some teamwork, when most fights had been mano-a-mano, with team members just watching as teammates launch attacks one at a time. But at least the mission's finally over. As the survivors lick their wounds and cry over lost teammates, well, seeing as the boss was worth straight-up a 100 points, someone got to keep his promise . And just like before, nobody reacts to the two vampires who also survived, despite their ambiguous loyalties during the whole mission. I'm going to guess that this will be the last time we see vampires...
With a final twist at the end, the overarching plot seems to be finally going somewhere, and that's a good thing. I guess one of Nishi's purpose was to show this twist. Somehow I think he'll just die in a lame way like the previous "villain" teammate once his purpose was served. Oh and this whole reviving business is now confirmed to be some sort of cloning or replication.

Queda poco tiempo... ¿Algo cambiará? Vamos al siguiente tomo.
How much they try they could not defeat that 100 point alien. He just takes another greater form.
They think of surprise attack on the 100 point alien, and it worked. They won the game.
Chapter-279: Kato is the only one who got 100 points. He revived Kei. Yay!
In the end chapter, Nisan reveals that a nuclear war or some kind of threat is going to come and all of human race will be wiped out. It's just in days!
A woman of age 23 with a son in real world, loved Kato of age 17 in the game and sacrificed herself. Let's see if author brings her up or her child again in this series.

all that trouble just to bring back kurono kei??? in my opinion the story would've been better if kei chose number 2 instead of 1. that way he could still be the leader but with a powerful weapon. with his straregy and leadership the osaka arc would be better. but that didn't happen lmao. i wish with kurono getting back in the game the storyline wouldn't be as shitty as this arc.
Gantz 25 is the 25th book in the series where a group of recently deceased people battle aliens, dinosaurs, vampire or what have you. They score points if they survive and can be brought back to life, get new weapons or revive others. This editions is a very fast read and was very entertaining.
A few days ago I would have never believed I'd be so happy to see Kei but here we are. Also we have like a huge threat now. Humanity's coming to and end o.O?
