The main character, Emily Cole, travels from her home in New York City to Whisper Creek, Montana to claim an inheritance. She is a successful jewelry designer who is puzzled about receiving an inheritance since she has no known relatives in Montana.

After arriving in Whisper Creek, she enters a portal that takes her back in time to Whisper Creek in 1882. The first person she meets is handsome furniture maker Wyatt Kincaid.

Can a 21st century independent woman survive in the 19th century? At first Emily tries to find the portal to return back to the 21st century. The attraction between Emily and Wyatt is strong and causes Emily to wonder if she should stay in the 19th century.

5/5🌟! I pre-ordered this book as soon as I saw the first post about it in May! I anxiously awaited its arrival in my Kindle Library all summer long. Well this was well worth the wait! The story of the love between Emma and Wyatt was as sweet as those in The Notebook. I was not able to put this book down! When I did, I could not wait to get home to run back into the scandalous lives of those in Whisper Creek!! I cannot wait to read the next book and see what twists and turns are up ahead for these characters! Go and check out @booksbyha debut novel! Believe me, you will not regret it!

Wrapped Around My Heart has all the makings of an adorable Hallmark film. Cute, romantic and just enough mystery to keep you wondering if the main characters will get together and stay together.

Anybody who knows me know full well that time travel fics are my absolute weakness - looking at you Outlander - and when this little gem came my way I jumped at the chance to read it.

The plot was admittedly at times confusing, I struggled to keep up with how the time travelling aspect was explained. I know it’s a difficult concept and everyone has different theories on how it should work but what I did appreciate was Alexander’s small revelations of the theory surrounding the concept throughout the novel, even though it took me a second read through of some of it in order to understand.

The main characters - Wyatt and Emma - had wonderful chemistry. I’m not a massive fan of insta love and I think this is where the confusion for me mainly stems from (but this is a minor personal preference and not at all a massive detractor from the novel).

I found Emma to be the most believable character - her reluctance to accept her new reality in the past at first and her slow growing embracement of it was well written. I liked the fact that she didn’t just go with it and jump straight in at the deep end. Alexander did a wonderful job with the development of Emma’s characterisation.

While this is a cute romance, don’t be fooled! There are a few steamy scenes involved (for those who aren’t a massive fan, don’t worry - they’re not massively detailed and are thoughtfully written) but prepare for a 30 year old woman from 2022 referring to her ‘lady bits’ a fair few times!

Read this if you
⁉️Like romance with a bit of mystery
🕰 Enjoy time travel
👩‍❤️‍👨Believe in instant chemistry
🌶 Need a bit of spice in your life

Meet The Author: Wrapped around my heart is the first book Heather Alexander has written. She is fascinated with time travel and old west. When not writing she enjoys spending time with her two fur babies.

Synopsis: In this historical time-travel romance, Emma Cole, a New York designer, finds herself traveling back in time to the 19th century after receiving a letter summoning her to Montana for an inheritance. The problem is she has no family, alive or dead, in Montana. Wyatt Kincaid, a hunk of a cowboy, is living the best life on his ranch. The crutch: its 1882 and Emma has no idea how she has knowledge of the present and the past.

What I Liked: The insta-love between Emma and Wyatt is so sweet. The chemistry between them is pure and innocent. The amount of spice in the steamy scenes is just right. Very far and few between but not too much when it occurs. I love Emma’s desire to want to help figure out the fire situation and understand the world around her. She is very determined. And Wyatt, I love his devotion to not only Emma, but to his brother and to the people of his town.

What I Was Not Crazy About: At times I found the time travel concept confusing. I would occasionally have to go back and re-read sections to better understand what was happening. This was my first time reading a time travel novel and could very well have played a role in my confusion. I would not let this deter me from recommending this book to others.

Available August 29th

I received an e-ARC for this book on Instagram. I am so grateful for this copy.

Synopsis: Emma, an independent woman from the 21st century stumbles upon a time travel portal and finds herself in the 19th century and meets the most handsome man she has ever laid her eyes upon. Now what will she do? Keep trying to return to the future or create a new future for herself in the past.

Review: The plot is certainly intriguing. Romance with a hint of mystery added with time travelling- it could have been a cute hallmark movie if fell into the right hands.

I liked the plot, but I didn't enjoy the book to the fullest. The majority of the bonding between two MCs was based on pure physical attraction, I did not find the emotional bond to be much developed. I like romance novels written in a subtle, witty and poignant way. I could not find that here. It's solely my personal preference, nothing else.

The purpose of the villain (let's not take the name) fell a bit short depending on the complication. And the ending felt a bit rushed. I understand there was a lot to explain about how everything worked there. I wish it was a bit more detailed and well-described.

Despite a few hiccups, overall the book is an easy, comfortable read to pass time. Although I did not like the book much, it was a new experience for me to review an advance copy.

One moment Emma Cole is exploring the garage and the next she is in 1882 on the same property staring at a hunky cowboy she's never seen before--or has she? Emma doesn't know how she traveled back in time but believes the 140 year old letter she sent to herself holds the clues. Accepting the job of housekeeper to the two bachelor Kincaid brothers provides a more appropriate wardrobe and place to live, but puts her in the middle of temptation in a major way. Why does it seem so natural to fall into Wyatt Kincaid's arms? She desperately wants to find her way home--until her definition of home changes completely. Alexander has penned an exciting, sensual story of lovers destined for one another no matter the secrets their hearts hold or the century they call home. Can't wait to read the next book in the Kincaid Brothers series now that I know one of them! I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

This reads like something out of a Hallmark movie. It has the meet-cute, the tension, the romance, and the mystery that makes you want to keep reading to find out what happens. I'm not a huge fan of Hallmark movies but if this ever became one I'd watch it and maybe buy the DVD because it's just that good! Wyatt is the perfect book boyfriend and I'm not just saying that bc I have a thing for cowboys! He's sweet, caring, loving, and a complete gentleman! Emma is one lucky lady! Emma on the other hand is the perfect book girlfriend! She's equally as sweet, caring, and loving, but also incredibly independent, she can hold her own and won't take anything from anyone! Wyatt is one lucky man! This is definitely going to be one of those books I reread down the line when I want to read but don't know what to read just because I know it's a good book!

This was such a beautiful story. It was well-written and the romance was lovely. I connected with all the characters and loved the setting it took place in. There is even mystery to it when a string of fires set off a chain of events making the couple come together to uncover the perpetrator. Definitely recommend for any romance readers!

This story was so cute! I absolutely loved the 1882 setting for most of the story. I typically am not a big fan of “historical” romances but I was instantly in love with Wyatt and Emma’s story. This book has everything I love; adventure romance and a little spice! Ms. Alexander did a phenomenal job at making me feel as though I was in 1882 even as I read this book on an iPad!

I got so wrapped up in this story I had to finish it before I was able to go to sleep! The writing was extremely well done and I would gladly read more of The Kincaid Brothers.

Wrapped Around My Heart instantly gave me Hallmark vibes. It's romantic with a bit of mystery thrown in. This book has all the elements needed to keep the reader invested to find out what happens next. Wyatt and Emma are both sweet and caring individuals. Emma's a savvy designer from New York, while Wyatt is a rugged, sexy cowboy from Montana. Each have secrets, but their chemistry is undeniable. Can they overcome those secrets and have a relationship? If you love a good romance and Hallmark vibes, this book is definitely for you.

Hello people!
In the first book of the series, Wrapped Around My Heart, the protagonists are Emma and Wyatt. Of course, Emma lives in the present and Wyatt lives 100 years ago. But that doesn't stop them from meeting...
What a fantastic story this was, with very well-structured characters and a writing that had it all!

Many thanks to the author and Happily Booked PR for the eARC!

This is my honest review!

I was truly facinated by this book. I submerged myself in the pages of this love story. Every page turned took me on a rollacoaster of emotions. I enjoyed the writing and the feelings behind it. This a story to share and read. I can close my eyes and imagine myself back in those times and if I had to choose between staying or going back, for Wyatt I will not hesitate.🫣

A good read with likable characters, spicy romance, touch of history, and time travel. The time travel had me a little confused at the end, but that was the only thing that tripped me up. I thought the dialog matched the characters and their respective time zones. It did have that element of a Hallmark movie in the most positive way.

I really enjoyed the premise of this story. Emma and Wyatt were meant for each other, actually destined to be together no matter when. I loved that Wyatt allowed Emma to do more things than would have been allowed in 1882. He was protective of her but wanted her to be happy. Emma adapted quite well without giving up all her future needs. Their journey to help in the past added excitement and action to this story. I recommend this story and look forward to the next one.

I received a copy of this story through Xpresso Tours, and this is my unsolicited review.
