The second volume of a manga that had barely enough going to justify one volume. Shizuka and Misono are in love, and they're trying to keep it on the downlow from their coworkers, and Shizuka's developed a sometimes-awkward habit of teleporting to Misono when she wishes she could see him. There's the "loss of powers" nadir that a lot of fictional witches go through, as well as a hint that witches are treated like minorities are often treated. There are some inconsequential troubles in their relationship--he doesn't like tomatoes, and she wants him to eat them. hope you were sitting down!--before the inevitable wedding.

This is a sweet, mostly innocuous story with nice art. I like the cover treatment with its shiny stars and title on a matte background, and its pastel blue stripes on the inside cover. The author's afterword where she celebrates having finished her first manga story was a nice way to round out the volume.

If I were to base my favorite reads this year on how many times I've reread the series/volumes, this manga would take the win because I think I reread this volume at least three to four times yesterday! LOL!

I don't know what it is, but this story is so beautiful and magical. Literally every time I was like "I'll just skim read my favorite parts…" I found myself actually reading and sitting down to finish it even though I knew what would happen next. LOL!

I think given how Shizuka was treated in the previous volume and how absolutely sweet Misono is towards her, it makes this second volume beyond satisfying to see their romance unfold. He is so kind and loving and an absolute perfect, no-pressure kind of boyfriend. His actions just speak of how much he treasures her and could reread this story over and over and never get bored.

One could say there isn't much "action" that takes place in this volume, but I think this is part of the charm of this series. I also think it's my favorite part because the story is completely focused on their relationship and was so refreshing for the plot to be purely focused on our couple.

Overall, I am very surprised by how much I really loved this series. I heard that their will be a third volume and very excited to hear that because this is a very wonderful adult romance that I would highly recommend! While I originally read it due to Halloween coming up, I think this is the kind of magical story you can read anytime of the year and it be just as lovely as the first time read.

Highly recommend!

In light of recent developments, such as kissing, Shizuka and Misono are… not exactly moving forward. But when Misono decides to move forward under his own steam, Shizuka’s powers go haywire and start to really move her forward. And left and right and several other directions.

Hey, well, two volumes and then done isn’t so bad. After the whole dramatic conclusion last time, this volume wastes no time in cranking the throttle up on the relationship and suddenly it’s dating and potential cohabitation and some other stuff a different manga will tell you about when you’re older.

And it’s kind of awesome. These two are just too adorable together and even with Shizuka’s flustered shyness, she is no chicken when it comes to acting on her feelings, even if she has a rash side that nearly gets her into trouble.

Misono was decent last volume, but he really turns into Shizuka’s rock and there’s clearly a solid foundation for whatever these two wind up doing, most of which we’ll be seeing anyway. There’s no question that they’re both crazy for one another, even if it comes out in different ways.

It’s so refreshing to see another well done adult relationship and one that moves along at a solid clip with minimal time for BS (the gossip part comes close, but it mostly informs a subsequent section anyhow). Instead we get topics like moving in together, lessons in prejudice, petty arguments, and making things work in difficult times.

Oh, and the usual beach and theme park and other stuff. Don’t worry, these two have a very, very healthy relationship and, while the naughtiest stuff is pleasantly implicit rather than explicit for a change, there’s no shortage of affection, either physical or otherwise, floating around.

There are some fun gags, mostly in Shizuka’s expressions or an amusing runner where her papers keep flying out of her folder at work, but this is a great story that moves at a nice clip. It is essentially the romantic version of ‘all killer, no filler’.

Is it too fast? Eh, maybe in some parts; there’s a forced separation that doesn’t have a great amount of breathing space, for example, but mostly this just hits the high points and with just enough oomph to feel satisfying.

4.5 stars - if the first volume was good, this was better. It felt like Sweat & Soap, honestly, and if it didn’t quite make it to that series’ level, it was still a very, very enjoyable time.

The pacing felt so breakneck in this volume, but I had no idea this was only two volumes! Basically, we see their relationship through to the end, with all the bumps in the road. Very cute, very cozy, and I enjoyed my time with this couple.

3.5🌟

This is a very sweet series. I find it cute and charming.

I must say, however, that the pacing is awful. I understand that it’s meant to be a slice of life type of series where you don’t get every minute detail of the characters’ life, but this just felt like the characters went from 0 to 100. Like, how are they seriously married now in just the span of 2 volumes? I guess I can kind of understand it because it was originally only meant to be 2 volumes, but even with that in mind the pacing is still off.

I also found some of the arguments Shizuka and Naoto had very silly. There’s a whole argument about how Naoto doesn’t like tomatoes, and for some reason that really pissed off Shizuka? It’s ridiculous. A person can have taste preferences! And there’s many little miscommunication moments between them that feel very contrived as it’s clear from the get go that both of them like each other very much.

I guess of the things I like that I’ll highlight before I end this review is that I love that Naoto is always down to steal a kiss from Shizuka. He’s sneaking in as many smooches as possible, and I support it 😂

I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️ The series definitely has its quirks, but I still find myself enjoying it so far.

The sugar-sweet romance had me squirming in my seat with every chapter. I felt like this one was much less substantial than the first one in terms of actual plot-with-stakes, the ending felt abrupt (rushed, even), and as a result I like it ever-so slightly less than the first volume.

But I have never given a book a low grade just because it's my kind of fluffy comfort food, and I don't intend to start now!

This was the concluding volume in a two volume series about the romance between an office worker and his witch senpai. Since the series was so short there was little in the way of character development. It was sweet but with very little substance and too quick of a pace.

My only complaint is that it isn't longer. A wholesome conclusion to something fairly short and sweet. I would love for their to be more!

I went into this thinking that Misono was keeping track of his sempai and he would write down stuff (Not sure why the premise made me think that) but it mostly just their interactions.

Misono and Shizuka have started dating and with rumors going on around the office, Shizuka worries about how that reflect on Misono imagine.

Also the more her feelings grow, the more she kind of poofs to wherever Misono is. Unlike with her parents, with her father taking her feelings as obsessive. Misono takes it a different way. This does cause some distress for Shizuka especially when she poofs to him in the middle of a meeting that he is apart of for work which was in Hokkaido. She is not able to control it.

Their argument about tomatoes was pretty funny. I though her poofing to him was funny too but I can understand why it would cause her to be upset when she is unable to control it. The two do move in together.

I read online that were was a sequel manga that continues were chapter 42 left off. I am looking forward to see what the future for these two and if Shizuka can get her magic back. Or if there kids inherit it.

final installment? 🥺

I love the whimsy style of art. Shizuka and Misono are both so cute and sweet together. I love how she feels like she’s constantly overwhelming him by how much she likes him,but he’s like nope, like me even more. He’s so cool and levelheaded that when he proclaims to get nervous or worried about the state of their relationship you get how much he loves her and wants to support her. But Shizuka is still not used to being in a healthy relationship. He’s not using her for her magic. With or without it’s her as her own self that’s made him fall in love with her. Swoon!!!
This was so good and I loved their daily life and I’m so ready for more of their happiness!! So when the mangaka said they finished the series I was just really surprised because I’ve enjoyed this so much!! So is it really over? Lol!!!

This two-volume series was a really cozy romance with minimal drama and likable leads. When I say minimal drama, I mean over-the-top or unrealistic situations. There is drama, but it's of the very human and believable variety. Our female lead struggles with insecurity that has been spurred on by the way others have treated her, from previous love interests to co-workers and society in general, because of her general temperament combined with her being a witch. It's all very relatable and understandable. The male lead starts off a bit gruff and irritable, but he quickly comes to both understand and appreciate the female lead for who she is as a thoughtful, kind, hard-working young woman who just wants to love and be loved.

This series definitely could have been longer given how much ground is covered in volume 2, but it's oh so sweet and charming that I'm willing to forgive it for being a bit rushed. If you like heartfelt and sweet romances, I think you'll like this one. Just be prepared to wish it were longer so that you could spend more time with these charming characters.

ugh so flipping cute. I love misono and shizuka so much!! their relationship really develops well here - though I did get a little scared in the end that her powers were going to go away forever (I would’ve been so mad!). luckily, things wrap up super sweetly and perfectly. the art is amazing, no one of my favorite styles.

the only thing I wanted to see a bit more of here was shizuka’s friends - wished we got to see them sticking up for her when the work gossip got bad. but otherwise, this was a tight final volume with lots of character development and growth, and the most adorable couple with a happily ever after ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡

(review of vol 1-2)
easy-breezy, fluffy, lightly romantic, and kind of lacking in depth or substance. has a magical bent but I can't say uses this premise to any significant effect. I think some of the witchy developments in vol 2 are potentially interesting but are also treated with so little weight that it's hard to get too invested.

it's fine! it's so light it basically floats away. there's a lot more that could've been done with these elements, but this is not that series. only recommended if you want something short and sweet that goes down easy (too easy), not likely to leave much of an impression.

bye

More of a 4.5 star rating;
I really like that this volume picks up where the 1st volume left off, literally. It was both amusing and lovely seeing all of the development that Misono and Shizuka go through in their relationship. Even in the more difficult moments in their relationship, like their fight big fight for example, they manage to think of each other and either properly talk about their feelings or give each other apologies (or both). Also, it was adorable meeting Shizuka’s mother despite wishing to have met Misono’s family.

It was still cute, just not as cute as the first volume. There were certain storylines that make me sadface (like someone not liking a food and then the other person sneaking that food into their meal regardless…). The “teleporting to where he is” bit was fun. I think their relationship moved along awfully fast.

This adorable romcom continues and the relationship between Misono and Shizuka really progresses. There seems to be a bit of a underlying plot which never got explored. I actually believe if the author had added a bit more drama Misono would have turned out to be a Vampire as it seems like he keeps talking about having to hold back. Still, a great series.

This went at break neck speed with no room to breathe for anything going on. Upon looking at other reviews, it looks like it was supposed to be a two volume series. Seeing as I have volume 3 sitting on my desk right now, I'm going to guess it got picked up for more story, so I'm hoping that will help round out these super sweet characters that are currently pretty flat.

3.5 stars. This is cute and I like that it’s a complete duology. I did feel that it was a little disjointed at times. How the couple navigates getting serious with a coworker and the heroine’s insecurities reminded me a bit of Sweat and Soap.
