When you have everything, you have everything to lose…
Amy Porter has it all: a high-flying career, supportive friends, and the world’s most devoted boyfriend.
But when a startling revelation shatters her dream romance with Rick, she feels she has no choice but to walk away from the love of her life.
As though things aren’t bad enough, Amy’s career goes into reverse and her friendships fray under pressure.
It takes a tragedy for her to realise she doesn’t need a picture-perfect life. What she needs is to be surrounded by people she loves, and do work she believes in. Now she must fight for all she holds dear.
Can she win back her soul mate, and rebuild her friendships? Will she find the courage to take a leap of faith with her career?
One thing’s for certain: Amy will do whatever it takes for a second chance at happiness.
Set on the breath-taking coastline of Bondi Beach and Sydney Harbour, Second Chances at Lilac Bay is a fun romance about love, hope and healing.
My books are closed-door romances, with romcom elements and ALWAYS a happily-ever-after. I love writing read-in-a-day books with fun characters, tight-knit besties, sun-drenched settings, swoon-worthy heroes and a lot of warmth and depth.
Writing helps me deal with my homesickness for Australia, as I've been living in Germany for the past 11 years. I majorly love my adopted second home, but Australian beaches haunt my dreams!
I really enjoyed this book! After reading Book #1, I was thrilled to be getting a story about Rick and Amy. I know he lied and broke her trust but I had been rooting for them. So to finally get more detail and context, o was so happy.
Rick is a sweet angel. He’s so thoughtful and reassuring. He never doubts Amy or her abilities. He really is her biggest supporter. It absolutely broke my heart when he told Amy to leave. Then all the business with Lauren left me sick to my stomach. I almost had to jump ship.
Watching Amy work through the complicated relationships with both her parents was really sad but so clearly necessary. It really shows why ricks original deception hurt her so badly. I hate her mom so much.
I was happy to see the whole story round out into an HEA that didn’t feel rushed or sudden. Marie tied up all the lose ends nicely and I am so excited for book #3.
I loved reading this story. I wasn't completely happy with how Amy acted but I do love how this story ended. This was a great read and really captured my attention. Rick and Amy are a great couple and I just loved their story and I wanna hear more about them.
I adored the second book of this brilliant series so much, I loved book one but there was just something more about this one. Perhaps it’s down to knowing the characters more, I’m not sure but it was brilliant.
I loved Amy and Rick together, they had such a brilliant connection and really were perfectly matched. Sadly Rick felt he had to lie about his profession and it ends up ripping them apart. This breaks Amy’s heart so much as really does love Rick but she is struggling to let go of what she has always believed in.
I really enjoyed the storyline in this book and I loved seeing more of Amy, Lyra and Marley. This trio have the greatest friendship and even if they have problems within that friendship they are still there for one another regardless.
Loved being back at Lilac Bay, I loved seeing more of the surrounding areas, and I can not wait to get back here for book 3 🖤
At first it was slow but I easily became invested in the characters. I was slightly disappointed in the END because it was the END, I wanted to hear more! Overall, I thought the storyline was good and the theme of the story was great. I really liked it.
What a great love story. I love how strong Amy's character had to be at all times. She learned like we all need to, there are tines to forgive and times to walk away.
