GoneGod World Origins - The COMPLETE Boxed Set

Rate this book
Buckle up for an extended adventure containing two complete series with this duo of fan favorite heroines!

Four years ago, the gods left. All of them. Their last message to humanity was, “Thank you for believing in us, but it is not enough. We're leaving. Good luck.”

At first no one took the warning seriously. Then the denizens of all the heavens and hells started showing up on people's doorsteps. Creatures from every religion, mythology, folklore, and fairytale now live among us, mortal and homeless.

SETTING FIRES

My name is Tara and all I ever wanted was to be an acrobat in the circus. Then my family was killed by vampires.

I still perform. My dragon Percy and I take to the skies in the greatest show you've ever seen. Seeing this sassy Kansas girl cracking whips on the back of a dragon sure does draw in a crowd. Not that I allow their adulations (and tips) stop me from seeking what I truly crave.

Vengeance.

In my secret side gig as a vigilante, we’ve hunted down the murderous vampires to New Orleans. Seems they’ve been up to horrible things since killing my parents. If I don't stop them, no one will.

They say revenge is a dish best served cold. Personally, I like mine served with a side of dragon fire.

MORTALITY BOUND

Stop me if you’ve heard this Cupid, Hercules, and a shapeshifter walk into a bar…

Isabella is a 500-year-old teenage shapeshifter on the run with her boyfriend. She’s being hunted by the world’s elite, who will stop at nothing to rip out the knowledge she holds in her head.

And to think, a week ago her biggest problem was finding the number to Dominos.

Our girl did steal the secret DNA map of mythical creatures. The combination of what she knows and what she stole might be the key to save her kind from total extinction. What will she do to protect that knowledge?

Will Isabella run in the hopes of finding a peaceful life for her and her love? Or will she find the courage to fight for the once-immortal mythical creatures who now roam our world?

Wow! That was amazing!

Even though there were a few major and minor continuity errors, they were not terrible enough to take away from the story or the characters. These two series were amazing additions to the GoneGod World that had been created! The plots were simple and effective. The characters were enjoyable and relatable. Overall, I look forward to seeing what else is in store for this universe!

Once again, Ramy Vance's writing had me fixated, enthralled, totally wanting to keep reading these four stories that make up the whole story of Tara and her Dragon.

That the Dragon, who Tara had named Percival, when he hatched from the egg she had stolen from a Museum, when she was 15, was the rarest of rare, was a given, considering Dragons hadn't been seen on Earth, since time immemorial .

But Tara, & the quickly growing Percy, became performers, to earn the money they needed to survive!

it was after the time, when the Gods packed up and left, that Tara found Percy's egg, and ran off with it.

Tara grew up as a Circus Performer, just like her Parents, and younger Sister, Thelma.

But, on the night when the Gods left, giving out a brief message to humanity, as they did so, Tara was experiencing the worst night of her life!

As her family performed to their audience of local villagers, a group of Vampires struck, killing everyone: All of Tara's small family, and every member of their audience, leaving Tara the only one left alive.

As this was happening, the Gods took their leave, going away, and leaving everyone else behind, to become like we humans, with a finite life, with Death, for the first time, staring over their shoulders!

But the Demi-Gods; those part-gods, part-humans, along with the whole Pantheon of beings, mentioned in every single Country's Legends, and stories, stretching back to before Humanity was a thing on the Earth, were, ALL OF THEM, left behind!

This Omnibus tells Tara and Percy's story. It tells of their survival, of Tara's need to get back at the Vampires who had ruined her life.

It tells of the years that she helps Percy hatch, and start to grow; and of their need to earn a living as Percy does so.

It tells the story of Tara's revenge, of the people she meets, who help her, and temper her rage into something that she can live with, as she seeks vengeance.

It tells of her slow metamorphosis, as the people she allows to get close to herself and Percy begin, so very slowly, to shape her, and to educate her, and to show her that there really IS a life, beyond her need for vengeance!

Surprisingly, for me, this Omnibus took me a couple of weeks to read through. Partly, because I wanted to savor every word of it. But, also, because I was too ill to read at my usual pace!

This Omnibus is definitely going to be a keeper, so that I can re-read each story again, to savour anything I might have missed, while on this very first read.

It's something I know I will enjoy, again and again, and so I look forward to it.

But, now that I've finished this, I need to go on to read other books by Ramy. For some reason, I managed to read all of these sets in the wrong order - so I'll have to try and read them the right way, next time! Lol

But, now, I want to go on to the next series, which also deals with Dragons.

This is 'Dragon Approved', the complete series boxed set, written by Ramy Vance and Michael Anderle.

So, as I have a terrible memory, I'll start with Book One: 'The First Human Rider', and I'll do my best to write a brief review of each book in the series, as I finish it.

So, I'll catch you on the flip side, and I'll let you know what I think of each story as I finish it!

Excellent read.

One thing I can say, Ramy Vance knows his Mythical creatures of the world. I checked each creature out he mentioned, and I am impressed. I am not easily impressed, but he has.
The way it is written, the plot, the subject, the GoneGod world and the Others , was brave.
The God's have left which means all the immortals who have ever lived have fallen back to Earth.
Vampires are now ex-vampires, instead of living for centuries and drinking blood, they are now mortal and human again. The same goes for Angels and demi-Gods like Hercules and Cupid, Demons and Mythical creatures.
There is a war going on between the World Army and the creatures known as Others. The World Army are Humans. wants to commit them where as the Others want to Rule.
This is my second set of books by this author, and is well worth the read.
I have just bought the next set of books and looking forward to reading them.
If you want to read something different from your usual topics, I thoroughly recommend this set.

These books are amazing

This series of book sets are incredible finding the true way to read them in order is the most challenging.

This series should become a tv series. I have never been able to visually see the scenes so vivid before it is unreal on how the scene pops right at the front of my mind. I can visually picture the scene. I truly truly hope that someone in the industry will pick these series up.

Finally finished the series. Absolutely loved every book. There are many characters and plots. The storyline is fantastic! Author has a great imagination with characters, especially Others. Great description of what Others look like. You have to read this to better understand things. Enjoy!

Lots of action.

The first half is the start of Kat and Percy's series. The second is the start of Isa's. There are lots of backstory and characters that will make sense later. The editing errors barely distract from the plot.

This is a really unique world. The writing is great and I have to warn you, you will be sucked in. These box sets aren't a bunch of small books either. You definitely get your money's worth. This is definitely a great read.

Wow!

This book was quite entertaining. So many things happening. Good vs evil, but sometimes it's difficult to tell which is which.
