This author pulls no punches. Episode 2 beat me up with plenty of brutal hits. Everywhere. Expect anything, and bring a full-body apron. When the shit hits the fan, it's a storm.

I finished this book last night and, since then, I’ve been jumping out of my skin–aching to yell at y’all about one of the best horror books I’ve read all year! And it’s a sequel!

We’re introduced to a new–and far meaner–villain, Sissy Sadism, a metal band lead singer, snuff film director and certified Daddy simp queen. She and her squad are a bunch of sick fucks so inspired by the snuff films of serial killer Daddy Torture Fuck that they decide to take his original ideas and up the ante (read: production value).

All I’m gonna say is: if “reality TV” was like this, I’d actually watch it. Let’s put some real bite into these shows. If some unknown, conventionally attractive and untalented nobody wants to be an instant celebrity, they should have to eat a rotting corpse’s eyeballs and puke into the mouth of some other desperate famewhore first.

This is a joke, kids. Kindly place thy pitchforks back in ye rustic sheds.

Like the first book, the victims here are completely sympathetic, we empathize with them and are completely caught up in the tension of whether or not they survive. There’s an undeniable emotional component that exists here–one that feels true and lived in. Also, some sympathy is extended to Sissy Sadism, though not in any way that condones her actions (thus, making her far more compelling).

The gore is a level-up from the first one, no doubt…Sonnet includes so many taboos: puttng unlikely victims in jeopardy, weaving in sexual deviance with the brutality–all things that confornt the most terrifiing aspects and pitch black trenches of the human soul. But what’s even stronger is the connective tissue lacing the kills: Sonnet provides us with enough characterization to make us care about the people, and other people in their lives.

This is a story with so many moving parts to it, and so much ingenious foreshadowing; seeing everything come full-circle in the end–as she ratchets up the nastiness without ever growing monotonous–has me feeling that glorious horror-high even now as I write this.

Solid 4.5 ⭐️ i am actually quite surprised I was this enthralled with the sequel. I can definitely say it lacked a bit of shock value compared to the first. It bye no means lacked the brutality, insane characters and fantastic story. If you enjoy extreme Sonnet needs to be on your radar! My only lack of giving this 5⭐️ was the first was just a tad better and I’m impatiently waiting on book 3.

OH HELL YES
been feeling lukewarm about the extreme horror i’ve read lately but i finally found something to scratch the itch! it’s macabre, depraved, and stomach wrenching but still manages to show humanity. and it’s written like a thriller where i could NOT stop turning the pages until i knew what the outcome was. anxiously awaiting vol 3!

I thought "For The Sake Of" was brutal...But Oh Boy... "For The Sake Of 2" was brutality at it's very best!
The book picks up from where the last one left off, you "could" at a push... read this one as a stand alone, but I do recommend that you read the first one before hand.
This book was an intense, vile and violent read which was painted with thick blood congealing gore!
The storyline will get to you...the choices Blake and Milly have to make will destroy you...and what Sissy and her gang do for fun games will give you sleepless nights!
Judith Sonnet certainly knows how to make you sweat...
I now need to go and shower with a bottle of bleach and a wire brush...
A fantastic 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟's (even more if I could)

"𝐃𝐢𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐈 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰?"

After obsessively buying and hoarding her books, I figured it was time to read them all! Blake and Milly connected through a dating app. There is an age difference between them, but they feel connected through a shared loss; Milly tragically lost her husband and left her to raise their infant daughter alone, and Blake felt the sting of humiliation when his wife left him after cheating on him with his brother.

Through messages, the pair become closer, and their bond grows so intense, they decide it's time to meet. They each will forever regret meeting one another.

They had no way of knowing their entire relationship was being monitored by someone who only knows sadism, violence, and depravity. Blake and Milly are forced into a game, each one having to complete three tasks, each one more ungodly and depraved than the next. I am hoping for a third installment of this fantastic series!

I read For the Sake Of because some of my booktube besties were raving about this. And I really enjoyed it. There were moments I was a little worried that it was too extreme for me and at times it made me feel so beyond uncomfortable.

But that’s the point, right?

It’s extreme horror.. not cosy horror! So it set out to disgust me, make me gag and cringe and just feel dirty inside and out. It achieved what it set out to do.

I picked up the sequel partly because I wanted to, partly due to recommendations and partly because Judith Sonnet is a sweetheart and must be supported at all costs (true story, I literally love her and she’s super active on Instagram).

And I am so happy to report, that this was EVEN BETTER than book 1. I felt like there was more at stake, there was more horror, more grossness and more enjoyment. Plus it incorporated even more of a game style event into it and I love games.

If you don’t mind feeling like you need to shower for a week after reading this book, then I totally recommend it. But please check for trigger warnings and remember. This is EXTREME horror… trust me, that label is not used lightly.

Are you ready for part two?

In the sequel to For The Sake Of. We follow two people, an older man, who he had just recently caught his now divorced wife and his brother sleeping together. Also, a single mother, who just after finding out she was pregnant her husband sadly passed away due to a car incident. They start messaging online and start falling for each other, even with the huge age gap. They start taking pictures and flirting more and more. Little do they know their online dating app isn’t as secure as it should be. With daddy (from the first book) being gone, a new host was introduced into the online show, and she was planning something big. This time she will put two people through the absolute most, to possibly save their children.

What a good read genuinely, it’s rare for me to like a second book in a series but this was an exception that i was happy to make. The gore and tasks they had to do were nauseating in the best way possible. I honestly wish this book series would go on forever.

Violent

This is one sick and violent read, following on from the first book in this series it definitely surpasses the first and brings extreme horror to the forefront. I loved how sissy grew told her story and then became what can only be the most vile and evil woman you could ever imagine. Love is probably the wrong word more like intrigued. A you g woman that goes through so much then turns to be so foul and unhinged. Milky and Blake were a like a Cinderella style love story until ghastly and terrifying sissy and her new partner take control of their lives. Playing sissy new vamped games certainly brings this story to a whole new level. An extreme read with the emphasis on extreme. Not for the easily offended or squeamish. Please heed the warning if you are. Otherwise recommend 100%!

The sequel hits right to the gut with more BLOOD AND GORE than ever! This one was hard to read at times and make me feel ill to my stomach several times. Judith went all in on this sequel and truly delivered an EXTREME, VILE and BRUTAL story. Extreme Horror and Splatterpunk fans will devour this in one-sitting.

Just like the first book this one is intense, disturbing and gory. Judith really knows how to make you sick to your stomach. This book certainly does what it was intended to do.

While reading this book you can’t help but gag throughout the whole thing and yes I absolutely loved it. This book is certainly not for weak stomachs. It has parts that make you cry, scream, curse and cringe all at the same time.

Judith literally blows my mind!!! She is such a great writer. I really don’t care who disagrees with me. All I know is I really need to read all of her work.

That ending in my opinion was absolutely brutal. Have you ever won something but felt like you lost?

I stayed up all night reading this. As sick and twisted as this book gets, it never drove me to the point of not taking it seriously. I am left with a literal ringing in my ears after reading this. It was as loud and in your face as it gets. And as someone who is relatively new to extremehorror/splatterpunk genres i am mind blown!

It is strongly suggested to read the first book prior to this. Additionally, avoid reviews (including this one) or summaries before reading the first book, as this book continues pretty much after the first one ends.

At the end of the first book we see the "mastermind" of the Red Room operation has been killed. This leaves an opening for a new master of ceremonies and this sequel takes that challenge and succeeds fully. We begin with a name familiar to readers of the first book, who is now caught in the web of Sissy Sadism, who takes the "game" back to the sickos who want to watch people get tortured. After whetting the appetite of the original fanbase, she brings out the main course.

Two people on a date. A date that is going very well, actually. Well...until they both find that loved ones have been captured and will be hurt/killed if they don't play against one another in a game that will test their limits.

Sometimes you read an "extreme horror" book and wonder exactly what was extreme about it - or it builds up to an "extreme" finale and only a chapter or two could be considered extreme. This is not one of those books. It starts gruesome and ends gruesome. Anyone with any triggers should probably walk away because just about everything that gross, violent, or gory that can happen will happen. Ask yourself if this is a selling point or a warning. No judgment here.

If you're in the mood for something that will make you wince while you read it, that will cause you to feel uncomfortable to your core...Judith Sonnet has just the story for you.

Holy shit what a torture fuck is all I can say. This is Judith’s best work so far.

I started off liking both Millie and Blake, but when Blake made it clear he was prepared to see baby Antonia die so that his adult daughter could live, I hoped he’d meet a horrible end. I was right.

I spent the whole book thinking there was no way Sonnet would allow a baby to be killed. A cute and chubby baby? No way. But this is Judith Sonnet we’re discussing, and nothing is out of bounds, not even blowing out the brains of an 11 month old girl. My heart broke for Millie.

Sissy is so much more evil than Daddy was. I’d love to find out what happens to her - apparently there’s a third instalment coming? I’d love to see Sissy in the compound, being forced to endure all the torture she put others through.

I thought she’d let Millie go without causing her too much harm, but both she and Blake’s daughter Erin were left about as useless as slugs.

As for that vomiting eat the drivers eyes part, I have never heaved so much in my life. Truely gross and sickening.

Four stars. Would have gotten five stars but as always, the editing is dreadful. Spelling mistakes, poor grammar, and lots of it. Sonnet needs to either find a different editor or proof read her stories herself.

this was alot harder to get through than the first one. and i think mainly bc of how deep we dive into the main villain Sissy. bc we are getting this in depth background story. it just made things way too real. it was intense but i expect that from Judith. but i have to say she paints gore like no other. i hate reading series but i am looking forward to the final book in this trilogy. i hope it ends with a nice bow.
also like this is for real extreme horror so like 10,000 trigger warnings.

BUT LIKE ALSO the ending and what they did to the bodies YOOOOOOO all i could hear was metallica's one playing lol

Torture and mayham

I honestly will say first I enjoyed the first book way better, but this second books wasn't bad and still had the gore as the first, you really don't have to read the first book to read this one but it would be a good idea to. The things that milly and Blake have to go thought to saved the one they love is down right diabolical. The challenge they were put through did have me on the edge wondering what was going to happen and if they were to get out of it had me hooked. The twists in this thing had was turning in my seat! If you like horror and twisted stuff this is for you

4.5⭐️

Once again… I can’t believe what I just read 😦.

This book was SOO disturbing. I was genuinely scared reading this because I knew it was just going to get worse & worse as we got further into this dark twisted story. I don’t know how a book could go any further than this one went 😵‍💫.

You better WerK Judith 👏. This was an great sequel. It’s longer, has good character development, and again… beware the trigger warnings HEAVILY…

Now it’s time for a bath 🥴.

The Stakes were a lot higher this time around. I Liked how the author came up with a great way to continue the games. I loved that the characters had more depth to them so that there was always a feel of dread because you know some horrible things are headed there way. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

I think most people like the second book better but I like the first much better... this one had way too much focus on the bad guys and frankly I didn't care. also I think the short story at the end of this is actually better than either one of the books because it has just that bit of restraint that makes it more effective...

Just when I thought that there was no way to top the events of For The Sake Of book 1, Sonnet has done it again with a story that is so extreme, that you may not be able to finish the book!!! I did, and I can tell you this is Sonnet at her finest, and most blood soaked gore fest to date!!!! I can hardly wait to see what comes next!?

I pretty much immediately bought For The Sake Of 2 as soon as I finished the first and waited impatiently for it. I am glad to say I'm a huge fan of Judith Sonnet.

I especially liked the psychological torment added to the sequel over the ordeals in the first which were more physical. I am crazy excited to hear that there is a third book to the series!

With Daddy dead, what will become of his sick and twisted dark web game? Enter Sissy Sadism and her gang of necrophiliacs, murderers, and rapists, the perfect group to pick up where Daddy left off.  When they team up with a mob boss known as the Giant, they become unstoppable.

Blake and Milly are about to start their first date when they both receive phone calls saying their daughters have been taken and are in danger.  In order to save their children, they must go head to head in Sissy's game - For the Sake Of. Will they be able to endure horrible pain and humiliation in order to save their loved ones, or will they die trying.

For the Sake of 2 is just as brutal and violent as the first.  There were a couple of scenes where I was actually shocked by what I was reading.  While I personally preferred the first, I found myself getting sucked into the story and really rooting for Milly and Blake throughout the book. This book is bloody and disturbing pretty much from start to finish!
