The White Dragon Saga

Rate this book
The first four books in The White Dragon Saga in the order that they were meant to be read.

A Threat From The Past (Book 1)
Can you be heroic and naive?
For one young man, the answer is yes, despite his magical birthright.
Blissfully unaware of what's going on around him, for the most part Peter remains fully focused on blending in and keeping a low profile.
But fate and plain bad luck have other designs on him.
Not so bad, you might think. Until you discover the TRUTH!
Just like his friends, he is a... DRAGON!
Thrust into a life away from the underground dragon domain, disguised in a new, awkward human form in an effort to guide and protect humanity just like the rest of his race, all he has to do is uncover the diabolical deeds playing out around him.
With the help of his two young friends, a master mantra maker and a complete dragon stranger with more than a little history attached to him, will Peter manage to thwart the dark, devious scheme long in the planning?
Learn the true story of George and the Dragon, see if a prehistoric grudge turns into murderous revenge, and find out what to do if you meet a giant arachnid grinning at you when you're wearing nothing but your smile.

A Chilling Revelation (Book 2)
Treachery from the sands of Egypt to the plains of Antarctica.
Following on from the harrowing events of 'A Threat From The Past' (Book 1), a new found friendship with the dragon king is forged.
Soon though, young and old alike are unwittingly drawn into a deadly plot, when a straight forward meeting with the monarch sees them helping an injured dragon agent, straight back from his mission in Antarctica with news of a devastating encounter with another ancient race.
Blackmail, intrigue, forbidden love interests, a near fatal mantra gone wrong, a highly charged rugby match in which Tank takes a beating, combined with enough laminium ball action to please dragons the world over, stretch the bonds of the dragons' friendship like never before.
New friends and ancient enemies clash as the planet braces itself for one of the most outrageous attacks it has ever seen.
Lost secrets and untold lore come to light, while sinister forces attempt to steal much coveted magic.
Explosive exploits, interspersed with a chilly backdrop and unexpected danger at every turn, make for an action-packed, electrifying adventure.

A Twisted Prophecy (Book 3)
Hearts and minds ripped to shreds.
Amid turmoil surrounding devastating attacks across the world, the dragon domain faces the planet's greatest fear: global terrorism by an unknown force of magic users.
Against this backdrop, and with Manson's deadly scheme in full swing, events quickly turn from bad to worse.
An army of nagas controlled by the threat to their king, help the evil dragon storm the kingdom, capturing or destroying nearly everything in their way.
With no help on the horizon and the dragons below ground neutralised, how will the threat be stopped?
Can the briefest glimpse into the future turn the tide?
Will the white dragon turn out to be their saviour?
Or will a fierce lacrosse match prove to be the turning point for a rescue so unconventional, nobody could ever see it coming?

Frozen To The Core
Evil personified finds itself captured and encased in ice, trapped beneath the harshest environment on the planet with absolutely no way out, until, that is, a chance encounter with an inquisitive member of an ancient race unlocks the key to escape.
Dastardly dark deeds set off a chain reaction that will have dire repercussions for the whole world as, against all odds, evil conquers good.
Can a psychotic leader’s twisted plan be stopped?
And will a mother’s love prevail?
Find out how the malevolence began in this bone chilling prequel.

This saga was a genuinely rewarding journey.

The first book, A Threat From The Past, takes its time. The action is mostly concentrated at the beginning and the end, and at first I found myself wishing for a little more urgency in the middle. That said, the slower pace serves an important purpose: it allows the characters to breathe.

Peter, in particular, is an interesting protagonist. He is kind, well-meaning, and undeniably naïve — sometimes frustratingly so. I often wanted to shake him and tell him to pay closer attention to what was unfolding around him. But in hindsight, that innocence becomes part of the story’s emotional architecture. His growth across the series feels earned, not forced, and watching him mature into his role gives the later books real weight.

What truly surprised me was how engaging the everyday moments were. The author has a talent for making ordinary scenes feel purposeful and quietly entertaining, which is no small feat in a fantasy setting filled with dragons, ancient grudges, and hidden worlds.

From A Chilling Revelation onward, the series finds its stride. The scope widens, the action sharpens, and the emotional stakes climb. New characters are introduced seamlessly, the mythology deepens, and the story becomes increasingly confident in its blend of adventure, humour, friendship, and looming danger. By A Twisted Prophecy, the narrative feels bold and fully realised, unafraid to explore darker themes while still holding onto its sense of wonder.

The prequel, Frozen to the Core, adds an unexpectedly chilling layer to everything that comes before it. It reframes the conflict not just as a battle between sides, but as the long echo of choices, cruelty, and love — particularly a mother’s love — rippling forward through time.

Taken together, this is a series that grows in strength, ambition, and emotional depth with each instalment. It may begin quietly, but it builds into something rich, exciting, and surprisingly heartfelt.

I’d happily recommend it to anyone who enjoys fantasy with strong characters, evolving stakes, and a story that rewards patience.

This was a great volume of books! The first book I wish there was more action in it. The action is really only at the beginning and end of the book. However the characters are well done and the writing is excellent. Usually I would get bored reading about someone’s day but this author has a way of making it interesting and fun to follow along. My only wish about the main character would be that he was a bit sharper on what’s going on around him and less naive. As the story goes on though he grows and I love the storyline. The following books in the volume really picked up on the action and fulfilled my expectations for excitement. They brought in new characters while following the main story line and they were all excellent. All in all this was a really good read and I would suggest it to anyone.

A great new take on the world of dragons. An underground global society that uses magic and technology to protect and nurture humans. Many dragons shape shift to appear human and interact in human society. The series begins with a re-telling of an old legend.

As with any good or great book there is an evil counterpart that is hidden away. The story of three friends and the people in their lives carries the story forward. Unbelievable secrets and unknown magic powers the book forward.

While the books are written for a teenager, this senior citizen thoroughly enjoyed this collection. I recommend this book.

An epic, full-on Fantaxy Saga. Well written with characters you will either love or hate. Peter and his friends are tested to the limits, becoming embroiled in a dragon war, linked to the past and tales of previous dragon legends. Full of deceipt, underhand attacks, torture and death with forbidden human/dragons relationships thrown into the mix. The volumes relate to different aspects of the dragon world but interlink in unexpected ways. An enjoyable read with much more to come. Excellent read for YA and adults alike.

Bought this set of three books after reading the synopsis, they sounded right up my street, however I read book one and although I read it and didn't dislike it, I didn't enjoy it enough to want to read the others in the series.
I know it was marketed under Young Adults and I am well past that I do read a lot of books of that genre. I think this should have been marketed at a younger age group, it was quite basic and did not hold my attention at all.

Sorry to write this and only give three starts I do try to be more positive usually.

The White Dragon Saga
by Paul Cude

Great concept - benign Dragon Society emeshed and entwined with human society to guide and protect humans in their social and moral growth. There is of course a bad guy, the Dragon vanquished by George and banished to an icy entombment. The threat from the past has not been fully neutralised.

I enjoyed the story, the mystery, the characters and the careful exposition of the secret dragon society. Hockey was a torture for me at school, so I found the games dragged. However, sport was an integral part of the plot. Enjoy.

Worth keeping going

The start to this series is very slow going and a tad labourious in parts. However I strongly urge you to keep going as it more than makes up for it later on. The author manages to wield an incredibly immersive experience with a rich and diverse cast of characters. Each character and place has a wide back story complete with hobbies.

This is a brilliant read! It pulled me in from beginning to end and held my attention. The world building is detailed and imaginative. This novel has strong, well developed characters and an interesting story line that keeps you turning the pages. I recommend this novel and would read more novels by this author.

A Threat from the Past (The White Dragon Saga Book 1), my first read from author Paul Cude and the first of a 6-book series. A wonderful almost 500-page read.

Bentwhistle The Dragon in A Chilling Revelation (Book 2), my second read from author Paul Cude and the second in a 6-book series. A wonderful 661-page read that reads even longer due to the multiple storylines and attention to detail

A Twisted Prophecy (The White Dragon Saga, #3), my third read from author Paul Cude and the third in a 6-book series. A wonderful 506-page read.

Frozen to the Core (The White Dragon Saga .02) , my fourth read from author Paul Cude and a kind of prequel in the 6-book series. A wonderful 164-page read that reads even longer due to the attention to detail written in. Now that I've discovered the prequels I need to find a copy of A Right Royal RumpASS. Although this book is included in The White Dragon Saga (Volume 1) I've been unable, so far, to find a copy of A Right Royal RumpASS. A Fiery Farewell (The White Dragon Saga Book 5) is next on my TBR list, unless I find A Right Royal RumpASS first. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018.

1831 pages of fantastic fantasy. OUTSTANDING! No wonder it took me a week to read.
