If you like snarky heroes, secret identities and overcoming hardship you’ll love this prequel to the Undercity Heroes novels.
written in 2022. It's a story about people who have taken to living in destroyed cities. Most have some form of magic, which they try to hide from the military. If the military thinks the magic will help them, they snatch the person up and they are used as slaves to the the officers. A young girl with fire power meets a boy with wind magic who was rejected by the military. He was in an accident and is in a wheelchair. We never find out what the accident was. He takes to teaching the fire girl how to use her power. And they become a hero team. Nice little story, not very exciting.
A perfect story to show that if you want something bad enough you have to work hard for it and you have to believe you can do it if you have the needed support. Brilliant writing for all ages.
I enjoyed this prequel! Set up some pretty cool characters, abilities, and worldbuilding, was just as long as it needed to be, and made me interested in the next book. Success!
This short story was really fun to read! I love the universe! I was truly invested from start to end - even tho there was little action. Well written and exciting! Would love to read more in this series!
I really enjoyed this prequel. It's definitely made me want to read more. Michelle is determined to be a hero, going after the demons. She practices in the woods with the help of Nathan. I admired her determination.
