This is book five and the finale of the Wolf Hunted series and the main characters are nomad Janie Smith and Aeris pack alpha Hunter. He and members of his pack have just rescued her from the Unda pack, those with water abilities. Now Janie is back with the Aeris pack, most of who have made her feel welcome and whom she thinks of as family now. Hunter calls a meeting with the whole pack and asks for volunteers to go and face the Tellus pack and take out its alpha Becker, the man who raised her but now wants her dead. One of the pack is against it, having lost her son when he went as a scout with another and neither of them eve returned. Hunter officially claims her as his fated mate and that he is going to make her Luna of their pack, or he will leave and they can elect their own alpha!
They were due to leave in a week but the Tellus pack turns up unexpectedly and they have the battle come to them and they are severely outnumbered. Janie refuses to be taken again, especially to a man who wants her dead. She worries that her new family are putting themselves at risk, just for her and fro Hunter’s desire for her as his mate. She and Darby, as well as others in the pack, are determined to fight and aren’t afraid to attack anyone that tries to hurt any of their own. Darby was the one who found Grace, the Luna, and discovered Janie’s true purpose to unite all the packs, Aeris, Tellus, Ignis, and Unda. She has abilities already for fire and earth, but should also have the powers of water and air. Her destiny is to have all these powers and when her family and friends are in danger is the perfect time for her final powers to come out and play! Triggering her full powers makes her the ultimate alpha, as the Luna described, and will bring power and unity over all of the packs! A very quick resolution to the massive battle everyone was expecting, but at least get to see Hunter and Janie finally becoming a mated couple and realising their love for each other. I would have loved to see more about what happens next, now she has all these powers, and what their future will be. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
