Not Quite There
There is something missing in the Penny Outer mysteries. Perhaps a true sense of reality. The main character is a student learning to become a detective and in 6 months time, she solves 3 murders, often taking the lead over the professionals. I want to like her but I kept finding myself wondering if I really wanted to spend the time finishing each novel.

Totally Enjoyable
The first three books about Penny Kufer were so fun! Twists and turns, great characters, surprises, step by step investigating. Penny makes a great detective. It's a good thing she likes to do it. I recommend this series.

Fun Detective Murder Mysteries
A wonderful main character set on becoming a detective. In the process she solves several very twisty murder mysteries. Fun to read to try and catch all the nods to detective & murder mysteries woven throughout.
