Last Chance Downrange #4

Terminal Velocity

A last resort.
One final chance for the future they want.

Joseph is the name they’ve given him. Before that, he was Casper—a trained killer. Now he’s been sidelined to a summer camp retreat center, and if he doesn’t make this work he’ll get kicked out of the Accountant’s Office program for good. The only problem is this retreat center is a hotbed of decades old mystery and murder—and missing treasure.

Medical Examiner Sarah Carlton wants to make chief. When the boss orders her to take a “vacation” volunteering at the retreat center she’s not exactly jazzed. But she’ll use the down time to work on the drug overdose deaths she’s been puzzled by lately. Until the nightmare from her past shows up in her cabin, and everything crashes in on her.

With Sarah the target of a deadly group, Joseph is the only one with the skills to keep her safe. But how can it possibly all be connected? Is this about a new drug about to hit the market…or decades old missing treasure?

Together they’re going to find out. No matter if it costs them everything.

This stand-alone story is part of the accountant’s office series, Last Chance Downrange.
An all-new setting. An all-new set of characters.

*Christian Romantic Suspense.

Terminal Velocity ramps up the intensity times 10! The entire Last Chance Downrange series is a wild ride, and Terminal Velocity gives readers plenty of action, suspense and plot twists. This story reveals more about Casper, the mysterious guy who showed up in the previous novels. He's basically been given a last chance to stay in the Accountant's Office program - and he's exiled to be a cook at a camp where Sara Carlton is also forced to volunteer. Both don't want to be there but realize the camp has some shady stuff going on. The two become targets of criminals with ties to Sara's past.

I always love Lisa Phillip's novels. There's always crazy twists and intriguing characters. This is a fast paced and exciting story - you probably could read this as a stand-alone, but why not read the entire series? I'm looking forward to the new Brand of Justice series releasing soon!

This was my favorite book of this series. In this Christian romantic suspense we get a villain redemption from the previous series. With decades old cold cases and drug deaths currently, this book has plenty of danger and mystery. Both of our MCs have pasts to overcome. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to start the next Benson series.

Great story

I thoroughly enjoyed this final book of the Last Chance Downrange Series. But, as an editor, there were a few glaring errors that the editor of this book should have caught, but didn't. Missing words and misspelled words. One of the bad guys named Brad was occasionally replaced with Brett. All things that a good editor would have fixed.
Other than those things, it was a very good ending to this series.

Excellent!!

I love Lisa Phillips’s books! I’ve been hooked since reading the Northwest Counterterrorism series. This Last Chance Downrange series does not disappoint! I love the characters and how we get to know the clients of “The Accountant’s Office”. “Joseph” and Sarah’s story keeps readers on their toes, wondering who the bad guy is…I was completely surprised, (and that doesn’t happen often)! Excellent read!

A British agent falls in love with the medical examiner.

Enjoyed being back in Benson again. Joseph and Sarah story was exciting from start to finish. Both had things to lay down from their pasts. All of it was solved as they ran for their lives. As they were together their love grew. So happy to have Russ, Addie, Stella, Eric and Edith back in the picture. Will go back and read Eric and Stella book sometime. Will read more by this author.

Terminal Velocity

An absolute brilliant read. An amazing storyline and fabulous characters. I do love a series when the stories include people from previous books and they all work out things together. Have to love Edith, brilliant character with so much to give. I love that this series is also about people finding or coming back to the Lord.
Such a good ending to an exciting series.

Last Chance Series

Excellent story line. Murder mystery and love stories intertwined. I love the hope of what God can do for those who always need a second chance. He’s our Father who accomplishes the impossible by working good for all those who love Him and answer the call of salvation.

Terminal Velocity by Lisa Harris is the fourth book in the series of Benson down under. It deals with Sarah, who is the medical examiner, and Joseph, who is in the protective witness program, who was a CIA agent//bad guy turned good. It is full of drama, trauma, and bad guys who are after Sarah and Joseph because they’re finding clues to solve a 30 year-old murder mystery. It deals with people from the camp where Joseph works as a chef and how he has to use his old skills to protect Sarah in this drama/murder/adventure. The plot thickens and twists at the very end. It is a book that keeps you up WAY past your bedtime. Excellent read!

not sure how long….

It took me to read this one. Pretty sure I nearly read it straight through! Lisa does it again. Wraps mystery up in such a tight bow, only continuous reading can successfully untie it. Loved it! Can’t wait for the next one!

I did not or could not figure out if the “Bad Guys” were going to win or not. I was sweating out like Joseph and Sarah were. Didn’t think she was even going to live to the end of this book. Read read read now.
