This book is a best friend, a portal, a love letter. I carry it with me to doctors appointments to ward off their harms. I carry it with me to the hospital, dressed in pink committed to getting through the day, dressed in pink. I weep into it, hold it, and tenderly admire it. Read this! Love this! Cherish this!

Picked this up on a whim and I’m glad I did; This collection takes you on a journey. Dreamy and mystical at times but oh so gut wrenching. Some of these poems will stick to the back of my eyelids for a while.

A must-read for any person who is young and chronically ill! Bára Hladík articulates the sometimes abstract feelings that come with day-to-day life, alienation, and disability. And ALSO the expansive beauty of being and becoming. Hladík has a rare voice that moves fluidly from prose to poetry. This novella feels like a really long song that you can listen to over and over again.
