This book was truly great for critical logic and mental philosophy, here are my pros and cons.
Pros:
He explains critical logic very concisely, with much detail, and interacts with different schools of thought on various occasions.
His work on mental philosophy is very good for a beginner and he explains these concepts well.
Fr. Coppens is well suited for beginners
Cons:
Many printing errors such as misspelled words, missing letters, distortions in the text etc.
Fr.Coppens as a jesuit defends middle knowledge (cringe, read Fr Billuart’s refutation translated by Christian B Wagner)
Very anti evolution of all types (including theistic evolution) however it is worthy of mention that this was written in 1891, before modern evolutionary science.
Overall:
Great book and I definitely recommend it for any level of reader!
