A čo ak mu pokazí život?

This is not a genre I tend to read at all, but I bought this book (and several others from the same author, I went to primary school with her) for my Mum and ended up reading it in one sitting. It’s one of those “Love overcomes all obstacles” stories, which do occasionally pop up in my other reading but usually along with battle scenes and political intrigue spanning multiple volumes, so this was refreshingly grounded & contemporary - and the setting just seemed so quintessentially New Zealand without having to say that it was. So there was a feeling of familiarity with the scenes and the people - I’ve been here, I’ve seen that, I know them - which I don’t often feel in other books. The story unfolds well and isn’t rushed, and while I don’t know if I agree with the way it ended I can understand why it ended that way. I’m glad I can now wholeheartedly recommend Tammy’s work to friends and family knowing that I’ve actually read and enjoyed it - and that I’ll read a few others too.

When I was offered a chance to read an advanced copy of Tammy Robinson's new book, I jumped at it as I love her books, and this one doesn't dissapoint. Her characters are well drawn, easily believable, and very likeable - flaws and all. The situations clever, and the dialogue witty and well written. I read this in just over a day - making me late for work!

Zoe's life is great. She has a job she loves as a teacher, a wonderful best friend Bonnie, and one New Year's Eve she and Bonnie are having a great time at a party. When Bonnie dares her to seize the day she does just that, and grabs a perfect stranger for a kiss. However this perfect stranger might just be her kind of perfect - and when they kiss both Zoe and Finn feel that this might be the start of something very special.

Unfortunately the path of true love doesn't usually run smoothly and Finn has to go away for a while - he is doing a charity bike ride from Egypt to South Africa in aid of a mental health charity. They have a few perfect days together, before Finn has to go, but their relationship moves on via messages whenever Finn can find WiFi. Which is why when Finn returns to find himself ghosted he doesn't understand why. He searches everywhere for Zoe, getting more and more frantic, but she seems to have just dissapeared. Her work say she has left, and she hasn't been seen at any of the places she has previously shown him that she loves to visit.

Finn will have to fight for Zoe in ways he hadn't imagined, in order to win her back. The reader will be right there fighting with him, through a rollercoaster of emotions.

A fabulous book which I couldn't put down, and that I will be thinking about for a long time to come.

This book took me on a whirlwind of emotions!!

Zoe and Finn meet by chance on New Years Eve, both become smitten by the other but a 5 month trip for Finn buts their blossoming romance on hold.
While Finn is away Zoe gets into a tragic accident that changes her life forever. Not knowing what the future holds for their relationship Finn fights to be apart of Zoe's new life.

This book was a great read for anyone who loves romance and cliché boy meets girl... I for one am one of those people.

I couldn't give this book 5* for one reason! I didn't like Zoe for 90% of this book, she was to whiny and selfish to be honest, I felt like she didn't care much for other people and to me that just doesn't make me want to understand her choices. Yes her situation was a lot for her to deal with and I wouldn't know how I would feel in the same situation so for that I can understand most of her mood swings and frustration. However the way she went about how she spoke to the people she "loved" and people who was willing to help her was just, no...

On another note Finn was kind of perfect, he was endearing and caring, did I think they was in love to soon yes, I would like to of seen more of a build up.

But overall this was an easy, quick read and I enjoyed it. Definitely something I would recommend to anyone who is a hopeless romantic.

Zoe meets Finn when she’s out for the night with her best friend. As a dare she kisses him, and thus starts what looks like it’ll be a wonderful relationship. A snatched weekend in the wilds and Zoe thinks she’s in love.
Timing is everything…so when Finn reveals he’s booked to go on a six month long trip that could be it, but they pledge to stay in touch and meet up later.
Unfortunately, only a month before Finn is due to return Zoe is in an accident. Her leg has to be amputated and her life is turned upside down.
Couldn’t help but feel Zoe had a lot thrown at her. Learning about her past showed her strength of character, but she was incredibly judgmental and took it upon herself to make decisions she had no right to make. Ghosting someone without letting them know the truth is cruel. She is called out on this - eventually - but it took a while.
The cynical part of me can’t imagine such a fledgling encounter being so amazing that you’d not give up on it after being away for months and ignored. Romantics will love this, and any reservations I have about it probably say more about me.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this before publication.

Mmmm, where should I even start

3.5⭐
Let me start with the fact that I read the back and found myself extremely curious, like I really wanted to read it.

For me, the start of the book was spectacular. The prologue left me hooked, I was impressed with the fast pace that happened in the first few chapters that made me excited to see how this whole thing could even end.
The first 20 chapters were amazing, the pace, the characters, their backgrounds, the way I felt their chemistry, everything was just perfect.

Then moving to the middle part, the transition part that i found GENIUS. Adding their emails, and texts was just the perfect idea that made me feel like the pace was logical. I loved that she didn't just put a bridge chapter, no she actually showed us the way they communicated, what they have talked about, and everything felt like I had seen the long time he was away with my bare eyes.

Then, moving to the part after the turning point or the second part of the plot, because that's where things started to confuse me a little bit.
so starting from here there would be spoilers so feel free to skip

The hospital part happened so fast, everything about the accident was just so rushed, but that didn't really bother me, i just really wished I was able to understand or see more.
Then moving to her moving with her dad, honestly, I enjoyed that storyline because I saw the progress and their dedication to make things better so honestly that gave the book a big push.
But I am not gonna lie, at some point, the book became a bit boring. The issue was that we had two characters, a static character (Zoe) and a dynamic character (Finn).
Usually the dynamic character is the one on top, the one who gets most screentime and that's what actually makes the story exciting and moving, but here, things were the whole opposite, because we had long chapters of Zoe trying to stand up, or sleep, or live a normal life, and hundreds of scenes with her with her dad, but everything was so slow, like we weren't moving, we were just being at the same place, with the same characters, who have the same conversation over and over, while we felt the dynamic part only when we got to have an email from Finn, so at some point I was losing my mind over the fact that nothing is changing.

For me the thing that was also a bit annoying to me, but it was just for personal preference. I felt that the end was SO rushed, like we had lots of chapters moving in slow motion, then suddenly we started sprinting in the last few chapters, and It was a bit underwhelming that we never got to see them having a conversation together, that they never talked about what happened (or at least it wasn't shown), that we didn't get to see him talking to her about if he ever doubted if he could be there for her, if he ever felt concerned, if he felt triggered by the feeling of losing her slowly while she was in a coma- I just saw sooooo much potential in that while dynamic, but unfortunately, I read the ending, feeling like we could've had more time after the coma before the wedding, because it felt way too rushed, that I wasn't feeling that happy at the end.

However, the book was still good. I might. read it one more time after a few years maybe, and I would recommend it to someone one day, I am sure.
Also side note, the writing style is amazing and the letter he wrote to Paige was just so heartwarming and I wish more people discussed that side of the story for parents who have kids struggling from a mental illness, so yeah, that part was a WIN.

When I was offered an advanced reader copy of this book I dropped everything to read it!

Tammy Robinson has a knack of getting under the readers skin in every book she produces and this one is no exception. She brings her characters to life through the pages of her books and makes them so realistic that I feel I'm living their lives with them.

The message in this book is about family, forgiveness, strength and love, and finding your way again.

Highly recommended!

Tammy Robinson always writes really emotional stories. This one was no exception. A beautiful story that was emotional, heart wrenching and a great read.
I smiled, I laughed and I cried. The characters were credible and interesting and well portrayed. I loved the way the relationship between Zoe and her father was developed.
Highly recommend reading this book. I could not put it down and read it avidly, praying for a happy ending. **no spoilers **
My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I had no idea what this book is about as I didn't read the synopsis, as I love all of Tammy Robinson's books. Boy, this was no exception. I think I cried through most of it, and much as I wanted to savour the fabulous story, I had to race through it to find out what happens in the end. I think this story will stay with me a long time.

Who doesn't love a good love story? 😍

Back To You is the indelible love story of Zoe and Finn, who meet one night by complete chance and find they have an instant and deep connection. However, a heartbreaking tragedy changes Zoe's life forever while Finn is overseas and she finds herself lost, alone and having to deal with her past demons. Finn has no idea what has happened to Zoe and upon his return, must do everything in his power to find the Zoe he left, in more ways than one.

I really enjoyed this novel. I felt a strong sense of understanding for Zoe's character and her decisions and actions all felt very authentic for a person going through the trauma and healing that Zoe does. There were many heartbreaking moments in this story in relation to Zoe's love for Finn but also in her relationship with her father, which became a much bigger part of the storyline than I was expecting. For that reason, I wouldn't say this is your typical romance novel.

@tammyrobinsonauthor, who is a kiwi author (shout out to our homegrown authors!) did a fabulous job of crafting this novel in such a way that I felt I was right alongside Zoe for the entire journey and I didn't want to put it down.

This book hit really close to home for me. I could relate to Zoe so much with her situation, being in a wheelchair myself. What a beautiful story this was. It’s my second book I have read by Tammy. Tammy is so good at drawing you in from the first page and the characterisation felt so real.

Finn… what can I say? 🥰

Everyone needs a Finn in their lives. Him and Zoe had me smiling from the moment they met.

I hope this gets a film or a TV adaption. I can absolutely see Nathan Parsons as Finn.

I hope one day everyone in similar situations, including me finds their ‘Finn’. ☺️

I loved reading Zoe’s and Finn’s Story! Sometimes you do just know right from the beginning. Tammy Robinson writes such recognisable and ultimately flawed Characters that’s makes you love them and become completely invested in their story while riding a real roller coaster of emotions!
