Prince Pharun was marked by the gods at birth; yet he has lived his entire life in his younger brother's shadow. Despite becoming Crowned Priest, a right hand to the divine, his father only ever treated him with contempt. Now, the king is dead, and he has named his second son his successor. Pharun is prepared to fight tooth and claw for his birthright, even if that means destroying what little family he has left.
Prince Shrukian has spent his entire life preparing to ascend the throne. When the time comes, he is blindsided by opposition. He never thought that Pharun, the brother he always tried to love, would want to take everything away from him. It hardly seems fair, but Shrukian will not go down without a fight. He will pull on the strings of every foreign and domestic alliance he has, and he is not afraid to challenge the gods.
There is no one to trust in such a perilous game. The one certainty is this; for one king to reign, the other must be uncrowned.
Sirius is a lover of glory, gore, and monsters. They are a queer, nonbinary artist living in the hot and bothered South; currently residing in a little spot that has been dubbed ‘Halloweentown’, North Carolina. They are the writer of The Draonir Saga, The Gentlemen Demon Series, and The Dread South Series.
When they are not writing, they work as a professional drag performer, weaving the characters from their stories into visual art for the stage.
Consider me hooked and absolutely devastated by this amazing new novel. Suffused with rich and engaging characters, an easy to follow and still intriguing plotline, and a thrilling end that leaves me wanting more. Always impressed with Sirius' writing, this novel was everything I've come to expect and more. I am eagerly anticipating reading book two and foaming at the mouth for book three. Well done!
A slow burn, monarchical-political drama infused with magic and myth.

A slow burn, monarchical-political drama infused with magic and myth.
A prince destined to be heir, another born as a prophet of the faith. But once the King dies, who will gain the upper hand? With jockeying and corruption around every corner, no one is safe. Will lustful desire corrupt the throne, or will balance return and keep the land free from imminent war? We’ll have to wait for the next books to find out.
This was good. The writing is outstanding. Sirius delivers with quip banter and dramatics that keep your attention for this witty ride. Exceptional world building and characters are embedded throughout as well.
As stated above, it is slow, with minimal action, but the game Sirius spins is enigmatic and brilliant. The dialogue alone is reminiscent of GRRM and delivers a punch worth taking. My only other caution is the use of young boys as prostitutes. This forced a raised eyebrow.
Overall, Uncrowned is a solid debut from an extremely talented fresh addition to the writing world. Sirius’ ability to immerse the reader into his playground is noticeable and intoxicating. A great read and I look forward to book 2.
This book was incredible. I did not realize when I started it that the next book was already out, and it is downloading as I type! I was instantly hooked by the murder, scheming, and dashes of romance thrown in.
I love that all the characters are not perfect! It makes them much more relatable. The initial world building is just enough to be useful without becoming tedious.
I am excited to see where this author is going with this series!
Cannot wait to read the second installment of this series. You can tell the author really knows the characters well and it was easy to visualize the world they built.
