LIAR: And the Truth Shall Set You Free

Rate this book
There’s a school of thought that people lie for one of two reasons. One, the liar believes he or she is going to yield more from lying than from telling the truth. Two, the liar is unable to discriminate what truth really is. But most lies have one other common motivating denominator, fear.

Just as psychiatric sleuth Dr. Morgan Jane Winters arrived on the scene to investigate a suspicious death in the warehouse district of downtown New Orleans, gunfire erupts. Yards away, and in the blink of an eye, Federal Judge Ethan Holmes and his wife Eliza were blindsided by a fate seen all too often on these streets. They were carjacked, sending the judge home to meet his maker.

In a quest to set the truth free, Morgan takes us on a page turning ride, unapologetically excavating both self and all who would be part of the events of that night. With our heroine’s laser focused, obsessively driven smarts, it doesn’t take her long to figure out that the Judge’s death was not the result of a carjacking gone bad. It was a hit.

Loved this fun and exciting read!!

Wow! What a fun read! Another interesting Morgan James Winters mystery. I was hooked from the beginning. My curiosity and interest grew with the introduction of each character and the unwinding of the mystery in "Liar". Set in my hometown, New Orleans, I love how it described some of the little things that make New Orleans the "Big Easy" for me. If you haven't read a Morgan Jane Winters mystery... Please do! A smart, strong woman, who helps her patients resolve their internal struggles, while simultaneously addressing individuals who have allowed their struggles to grow to a level that caused them to do the unthinkable. It's a fun, ride... Danger, excitement, intrigue and characters you'll really want to get theirs in the end... Lol! I thoroughly enjoyed Jill Collins' latest Morgan James Winters Mystery,"Liar"!
