Amber Rove had a plan, blow into Bandit's Hollow, retrieve all of her newly purchased treasures and be on her merry way. But she hits a little road block, literally, when livestock wander onto the road she's traveling and then if that wasn't enough to deal with she meets a handsome cowboy that has laid claim to her treasures. Hayes Sellier claims that he inherited the opera house where her treasures are located, which also means the treasures belong to him. But she isn't giving them up so easily, she paid for them and she ain't leaving town without them! It's a impossible situation with a lot at stake and a battle only one of them can win...
The pages of Phantom Peak take us back to Bandit's Hollow and front and center into the lives of two people who were thrown together after an unfortunate mistake was made. Amber Rove is an antique dealer and she just hit the jackpot, purchasing a lot of one of a kind items from an old Opera house in Colorado and she is on a mission to retrieve her treasures and give her customers their pieces. But there is an handsome, and mildly grumpy, cowboy standing in her way. Hayes is now the proud new owner of the Opera House and he isn't about to let it's most prize possessions slip away to some city girl trying to make a quick buck. As these two battle over their treasures one thing becomes clear, that is not the only thing they are battling, their hearts have made a "magical" connection and are determined to keep them together. But how can they be together when they can't stand one another?
From the get-go these two had me smiling, every interaction they shared was literary gold, the feisty banter, battle of wills, and of course constant sparks made this one entertaining love connection! I have loved every visit I have made Bandits Hollow, every time I visit I am treated to a one of kind escape and introduced to characters that steal every bit of my heart! Highly recommend you take a chance on this series, each book comes brimming with a story that will have you smiling the whole way through!

This book by far has been my absolute favorite from all the others in this series because the story or should I say stories because as yiu begin reading you'll soon discover there are 3 character's stories that shine through but also connects beautifully and perfectly to each others that it brings you to tears! It's an emotional and beautiful story! I love that the stories were captured and blended so beautifully because it really makes the reader feel that deep connection to not only the story but the character's too! It makes you want to reach inside the book into their world and hug them! How AWESOME of a feeling is that!!!! When you've read a book so good that you feel it with your heart and soul and you just have to stop reading to soak in the awesomeness of what you've just read!
But wait there's more... the stories and connection to the story isn't the only thing I've enjoyed about this book.. I loved all the fun and the shenanigans the characters found themselves into... because when Granny Tinker is around there's guaranteed to be magic and shenanigans afoot!!! and you can't help but laugh at some of the stuff that went on! 🤣
The character's are so special and fun they make the book worth reading!!!! I loved meeting Amber and Hayes.. what a beautiful couple they are!!! And we can't possibly forget the handsome Grandpa Lester.. LOL he's the star of the book in my opinion! 🙂
I really love when you read a book and you lose yourself totally to it everything disappears and nothing else matters but what the character's are doing and what's coming next! And to me there were surprising twists and turns because near the end I thought I had something figured out and it went in a different direction! It was awesome! I couldn't put this book down!

Author Diane J. Reed has once again created a world inside of her books that makes the reader want to live there. The reader get's caught up in the amazing Bandit's Hollow world that the author creates and it's like they are transported through the pages of the book.
Hayes and Amber meet in the oddest way, don't really like each other (at first) and are at odds with the opera house and all of it's treasures...Amber paid for them, Hayes won't give them to her...enter the interim town mayor who is a bit of a jack a&& - LITERALLY, Lester, Lily and of course Granny Tinker and all of her friends and you won't be able to resist this one! There is no good stopping point and be warned that there are more than a few laugh out loud parts so be aware of your surroundings!
Will Hayes and Amber be the next couple to grace the town? Will they kill each other before they resolve their issues? Can Amber really speak to the antiques? The magic of the story will captivate readers and they will get a paper cut from zooming through the pages of this one so quickly! Be prepared to immediately want to start reading it again once you finish to see what you may have missed the first time around!
This is a must read and a must read now! Don't let the number 2 stop you from getting this one, you can start here and be just fine, but be warned that you will want to go back and get the first one because you will fall in love with the town, characters and legends! This is another can't miss from this author! Be prepared to fall in love and have some good laughs!

This book is another slam dunk for Diane Reed. I have read many of her book to do reviews for her, and this one did not disappoint! The way she writes makes you believe you are a character in the book, and that you are actually living a new life thru the book. Trust me you will get sucked in!!! The way she writes about her characters are so believable, they have so much personality. There is always romance and mystery. She makes the reader always want to live in the book. Phantom Peak is intriguing and makes you keep turning the pages to find out the answers to all your questions about those ghosts in the Opera house. This book has everything to make a great book, mystery, romance with a handsome cowboy, and magic.....always magic....This is a must read!!!!

First of all let's talk about this awesome book cover. I love the amazing background that perfectly conveys the beautiful setting of the story. Also the very handsome cowboy on the front. My favorite things about the paperback though is that it says the main character's name "Hayes" on the spine and has that lovely Starlight & Sagebrush stamp on front. Definitely makes me want to own the physical copies of these books! Okay, so onto what I thought about the story...
I don't think I can express how much this author's writing just grabs me. Each story feels so special, vivid, and magical. Phantom Peak is a wonderful contemporary cowboy romance with magical realism and lots of heart. The main characters Amber and Hayes, have so much spark right from the start. Even when he's laughing and making her mad lol. I love their witty banter together and how they just seem to complement each other so well and I can't talk about how much I love Phantom Peak without mentioning Hayes' spunky uncle Lester. He's such a fun character and I love how he takes an instant shine to Amber. There were several times that Lester actually made me cry, I felt so attached to him. His deep devotion to Gloria was so heartwarming. Of course it goes without saying that Bandits Hollow is just such a special place to me and I love every time I get to visit it through Reed's stories. All of the characters have a very special place in my heart and I always cherish my time with them (especially Granny Tinker), it was also very cool to get to meet some of Bandits Hollow’s Opera House ghosts. I highly recommend Phantom Peak to cowboy romance lovers, especially those who enjoy magical realism. It can be read as a standalone, but I think it'd be a shame to miss out on any of these amazing books.

Book 2 in the Starlight and Sagebrush series brings us back to Bandits Hollow and the 'Trinity' is busy at it again. When the town sells the antiques inside the opera house to Amber Rove she comes to town to claim her items. What she doesn't know is the opera house and everything in it belongs to Hayes Sellier. Hayes is a busy rancher that makes saddles all while taking care of his father Lester. Hayes had absolutely no idea what the town did and he wasn't willing to part with anything. Here's where the two meet. They need to locate the hidden keys in the opera house all while dealing with spirits from the great beyond trying to protect everything in there. I really liked this book and didn't want to put it down.

Diane's descriptions of the landscape, characters and even the smallest details make her stories come alive in my imagination. In Phantom Peak there is romance, antiques, mystery, ghosts and the beautiful descriptions of scenery. I especially enjoyed the mystery with the Opera House ghosts !

Enchanting and swoon worthy. The best contemporary western romance!
This novel swept me away. It is both romantic and completely entertaining.
I loved the setting in Bandits Hollow, a small historical town in the mountains. The main characters have depth and emotional complexity that I really appreciate in a romance novel. There was never a dull moment between Amber and Hayes.
There is a touch of delightful magic and whole lot of fun in this book. – And so many memorable characters. The mayor is a donkey - who wears a hat & glasses!
There’s a lot of sass and sexiness and so much more. The author expertly weaves the subplots into this tale with finesse and intrigue.
Oh my heart, I couldn’t put this book down and I can’t wait for the next one.
