Florovsky has a very good appreciation of the titular elements of Creation and Redemption and offers a rich Theological, Personal and Pastoral work on both. This fine scholar is strong on Creation ex Nihilo, on Hell and the mysteries of human freedom. Pertaining to the nuance around 'the flesh' and 'soul' he is disappointly weaker, not fully respecting the Biblical portrayal of 'Nephesh' or taking it with the seriousness it deserves/demands.
However, Fr Georges is rightly willing to criticise and critique earlier Church Fathers when it's right to do so, as well as the general 'Hellenic mind', sometimes to great effect- for example, he criticises St Gregory of Nyssa's overly 'rational' 'nous', giving a more Biblical perspective in Personal and more particularly Christian terms. This important distinction is more consistent with Orthodox Deification and synergy between God and Man.
Some parts of this third volume of his series were blazing fire and some were damp wood but it's got enough to commend it to a scholar aiming to learn more about th Christian Life, so I'll recommend it.
