New York Times bestselling author Carl Weber and Essence bestseller La Jill Hunt return with a story of love, money, power, and respect in the next addition of the popular Family Business series.
Five years ago, Orlando Duncan created the perfect drug in HEAT. It made the Duncans more than two hundred and fifty million dollars and was on its way to making them billionaires. However, they abruptly stopped manufacturing the drug when it was proven to cause cancer in rats. Yes, even as drug distributors, they still had a moral compass, placing lives over profit despite the overwhelming demand.
When Orlando is awakened by an alarm in his old lab, he discovers that not only have all his computers, equipment, and notes been stolen, but the robbers have also taken over a million tabs of HEAT that he’d left behind for future experiments—tabs that he had sworn to his family he would destroy.
Dr. Brandi Richardson is one of the most brilliant research chemists in the world, but her propensity for cutting corners led to her firing from both Dow Chemicals and Dupont. She’s now working at CVS as a clerk, but things are about to change for her in a big way.
Billionaire Alexander Cora is known as the Moor by business associates and enemies. His company, Cora International, is a publicly traded EU defense contractor. It is also a front for one of the largest weapons, drugs, and illegal contraband smuggling rings in the world. For some reason, he has set his sights on the Duncan family. That can’t be good, because Alexander plays for keeps, and he has not been known to lose.
Niles Monroe, the handsome hit man and Paris Duncan’s one true love, is back from the dead, and it’s only a matter of time before he comes looking for her.
These rich and powerful people are on a collision course. When the dust settles, who will still be alive, and who will be on top?

I don't like London nor do I like Darryl Graham Knowingly cheating with a married woman and gloating about doing so to London's Wheelchair-bound Husband Harris! It Made Darryl look NOT THE GENTLEMAN HE'S BEING WRITTEN TO BE PERCEIVED! Nor does it make London look like a good wife or A RESPONSIBLE Mother to Two Daughters who look up to her! THIS MAKES THE SECOND (OR THIRD) TIME LONDON CHEATED ON HER HUSBAND! London Should be a BETTER EXAMPLE to AND for her daughters Mariah and Maria! London is quick to pass judgment on her sister Paris BUT PARIS AIN'T MARRIED-LONDON IS!!! A VERY SINGLE PARIS, THOUGH CAN BE OVER-THE-TOP WITH HER ANTICS, CAN DO WHATEVER SHE WANTS BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T HAVE A HUSBAND TO ANSWER TO! On Top of That, London THREW THE BIGGEST TANTRUM when Her Parents told her that she was IN THE WRONG for Cheating on Her Husband Harris, which mad her seem like the BIGGEST Thirty-Something CHILD in the family! I only wished that Paris would've been there to CALL LONDON OUT ON HER CHILDISH, HYPOCRITICAL BULL CRAP! ENOUGH WRITING ON LONDON, PLEASE-SHE SICKENS ME. I do NOT KNOW IF LAJILL HUNT KNOW THE CHARACTERS THAT SHE IS WRITING FOR. I HATE THAT SHE GAVE PARIS AND RIO ANOTHER SHARED-WOMBED BROTHER! ROMAN SO CLEARLY DON'T BELONG IN THE DUNCAN FAM! Shouldn't Maria and Jordan be OLDER than How Old They Are written?! The DUNCAN Fam IS IN CRISIS, YET VEGAS DUNCAN WASN'T WRITTEN IN TO COME TO THE RESCUE, OR EVEN TO OFFER INSIGHT ON WHAT CAN BE DONE????! WHAT THE....IS GOING THROUGH MS. HILL'S HEAD ON THIS?LAJILL HUNT ALSO SWITCHED VEGAS' BABY MAMA CONSUELA ZUNIGA & GIRLFRIEND MARIE'S ROLES! CONSUELA WAS MORE LIKELY THAN NOT A STUDENT AT CHI WHILE MARIE IS THE ADULT CLUB OWNER/MADAME/PROSTITUTE! I HATE THAT MS. HUNT DID THIS; IT TAKES AWAY FROM WHAT LONG-TIME READERS KNOW OF THE BOOK SERIES! THE ONLY SAVING GRACE :NILES! NILES! NILES! NILES MONROE'S ARRIVAL MADE THIS BOOK....TOLERABLE! I HAD BEEN WAITING SINCE "FROM PARIS WITH LOVE" FOR THIS LONG-AWAITED INTERACTION! IT'LL BE THE ONLY REASON THAT I'LL GET "TFB 7"! I MISS ERIC PETE, TREASURE HERNANDEZ; AND EVEN STEPHANIE COVINGTON! MR. WEBER, BRING THEM BACK PLEASE!
Although I am a fan of this series, this book was overkill with the various story lines and their subplots. 1. Dealing with The Feds; 2. Larry’s escape; 3. Sasha’s emotional pain; 4. Harris and London’s marriage; 5. Return of Niles Monroe; & 6. Orlando and his family kidnapped.
The whereabouts of Sasha; Harris is on the run now that it's known that he put a contract on London's lover, Daryl Graham; Jordan (Paris' son) has been taken by Najdi; Niles returned from the dead; The 41+ years feud with Alexander Cora continues as his longtime, Dominque LaRue is in custody; Larry's status as he escaped from a mental institution but was instrumental in delivering Ms. LaRue to Agt Martinez.

Wow! That really was the business. Larry Duncan was back, Sasha was upset, the Waycross family visit. Then there was Roman, Rio, and Orlando's situation. Along with his wife and kid held hostage. But Larry and the FBI manhunt was surreal. You need to refresh or read book 5 to understand all the things going down in this story.
This one started off slow then picked up and climaxed in like the last 50 pages and tried to fit everything in super fast and then just left on a major cliffhanger??? Like WHAT?? Still a good read, but now once again I need to know what's going to happen to the Duncan's!!! I was glad to see some of the older characters mentioned in the previous books make an appearance in this one, always a plus! Until the new book comes out I will most definitely begin watching the series!
I just don’t understand the lack of continuity!? I thought Donna was carved/stabbed. If Larry didn’t kill her then who did? How is Paris pregnant with Nile’s child? She met him way before? So now the age of Jordan is wrong? How did Sasha find out Junior was her brother?!?!! This book was all over the place. Lauren and Daryl that dumb to go to the house knowing Harris is there? Like come on lol also Vegas?????? He was basically gone the entire book. Like this is the worst book of the series thus far

The story picks up with the family dealing with several crises at one time. The patriarch of the family, LC Duncan is still trying to run the family business. His crazy brother has escaped from the prison for mentality insane and the FBI is after him. LC’s son and his family are being held against their will on a yacht. LC’s niece has been taken by enemies trying to take over the family business. LC’s daughter is having an affair with the head of the family security and a hit has been put out against him. The family has to come together to try to eliminate the enemies all around them and put out the fires one at a time to get the family back together safely.
I hate to not finish the Family Business series, but the franchise is really going downhill. I understand the books are meant to stand alone. If that’s the case, don’t end the previous book on a cliffhanger, and expect the reader to not remember what happened! The different authors writing the books doesn’t help either bc it is as if this author didn’t even read the other books. There are way too many continuity errors between this book and other books in the series, too many characters to keep track of, and way too many story lines getting started with no resolution for previous ones.
This series has been a wild ride, but I’m getting off of it now.
This book doesn’t align with the previous books at all! Instead of continuing the storyline within the books, they based this one on the TV show. There is no continuity with the characters. Larry and their situation is completely confusing. First Larry was out and about on a rampage with Curtis by his side and the younger brother struggling with his morality. Now Larry just escaped a mental institution with the younger brother as his right hand man and Curtis is a bounty hunter (like the show). Ion like this at all. DNF.
This book most definitely made up for that terrible book number 5! Practically the whole family was back together working as a family.
Nevada Duncan is fast becoming my new favorite Duncan. I still can't STAND Paris!!! I love this series so much I want to start it from the beginning again. I still need more from Vegas. I need him to have his own book.
Now I'm on pins and needles waiting for the next book.
I like that everyone was involved in this story. We got more of Roman; the family and Uncle Larry were able to work together; Orlando's family and now Lauryn, Paris, and Nadjah. So much has happened and now we know have much more to look forward to. Can't wait for the next book. Seeing everyone on tv for so many seasons makes the characters in the book and their situations more real to visualize.
I absolutely love this series by Carl Weber, however this storyline took a little to long to take off, and left a few unanswered questions. The first 280 pages contained more background information, and development of a "plot", then bam, in the last 15-20 pages your hit with the action and drama. However, it was great that past and current characters were brought back to increase some characters storylines.
The writing style is quite different from the earlier installations which I enjoyed thoroughly. It took awhile for the book to become a page turner which was towards the end and that made up for the not so interesting chapters. The writer's left me eagerly awaiting the next read because the cliffhanger was eye opening.
Can't wait for the next book in the series! This one was a nail biter! I hope Harris gets what he deserves. I like London and Darryl together, and I'm glad that Orlando and his family are safe. Glad Larry started taking his meds again. Now, someone tell the author to get busy because I need to know how Jordan's family is going to rescue him!
Umm...... So the book was good. But it was a lot of things wrong. It was like a rewrite of book 5. They kept going back in time within the book. Scenarios in the book was complete changed from things that had already happened in the previous books. People were added AT RANDOM. Yeah I know all authors do that. But the way they were added in this book will live you with a lot of questions.
Carl Weber never disappoints me. This is a great book and he kept me well entertained. Each chapter with its assortment of characters never lost my attention with all their drama and I can't wait for the next book to release.
This book was a page turner, despite the grammatical errors. Those errors did not take away from the story though. I'm sure there's going to be another one. Can't wait.
Overall good read. It took a minute to get into it because I was preoccupied but once I got started? I couldn’t put it down. The only thing I dislike was how it transitioned to another character in a awkward way. Also in how it ended where I have to wait who knows how long for another book smh….
Nonstop action, hanging on every word. Book 7 can't get here fast enough. Carl Weber is a master story teller. Thank you for all of the Duncans...even crazy ass Larry!
I loved this book. I couldn’t put it down. I’ll recommend it to all my friends who love to read. I’m anticipating the next family business novel. They keep getting more excitement, mystery, drama and the plots keep thickening.
As usual, the series doesn't disappoint. I think I've started to get mixed up with the books vs the tv series now and I'm confusing who should already be dead or what they did in the last installment. Oh well, anyway, I'll keep reading.
This is one of the better written FB books. I am excited to know that the release date of Book 7, but it doesn't seem to be starting where this book ended.
What makes FB6 better than some of the others is that it did not bounce characters as much. I enjoy reading Mr. Weber's books.
VERY surprised at this one! This was the 1st one in this series that actually kept me fully engaged. Loved the cliffhanger ending!!! I wish the tv series was more like the book, I would like it much more.
I enjoyed this much better than 5. To me, 5 had nothing to do with the trajectory of the story. This one tied up some loose ends and left in a good cliffhanger making you want more.
