When the government creates weapons, it never ends well. But when General Guthrie takes over the MultiGenics Research Center, things go from bad to worse. His idea of making an extreme weapon means splicing several species together.
What happens when you cross the Jersey Devil, a scorpion, and a Florida alligator? The ultimate man-made monster and your enemy’s worst nightmare. The beast, known as an Alligarsey, is the ultimate killing machine.
General Guthrie and his scientists quickly lose control of the creature. It gets loose from MRC and begins killing and eating everything in its path. The small Florida town won’t know what hit it once the monster begins to hunt. Until it’s too late.
Can anything kill this beast? Maybe, but it will leave behind a wake of destruction never before seen in the beautiful gulf coast town.
I'm the mother of two beautiful grown daughters, BamMaw (grandma) to two handsome young grandsons and one beautiful new granddaughter. I'm happily married to my best friend, who I work with building our own line of live edge furniture.
I will read just about anything but favorites are romance, science fiction, and horror. I started writing when I was young after the passing of my mom. It was and still is a great way to escape to other places, real and imaginary. I write all genre's (including the naughty ones).
I love to make jewelry and remake dolls into fantasy creations, and dressing up to play at Ren Faires.
General Guthrie and his staff start off observing the Jersey Devil. His hope is to have man made monsters that will be unstoppable. Using them to annihilate the enemy. However, his hope quickly turns to dread when one of the doctors leaves the facility with a creature and it escapes. An entire chain of events starts because of this, and the General must do whatever necessary to locate the monster before it destroys everyone in town.
I enjoyed this one! The suspense was insane throughout the entire book. The havoc the monster caused and the tension between the characters had me flying through the pages.
It was great to see this side of the author’s work. Very different from previous books I’ve read by her. This was a great mix of Sci-Fi and gore! I hope there will be more man-made monsters from this series.
An intense look at what would happen if the government actually did capture some of these urban legends. In this case, they would most-likely attempt to weaponize the beast and horrific things would soon follow. The excellent use of tension between the characters, keeps the story gripping and the reader on the edge of their seats. Well done.
This was the perfect read for a night when the thunder is rolling and rain hits your tin roof. This sci-fi piece made me want to stay on my toes. I am excited for book #2 to come. I absolutely loved this one. So will you!
