It was one kiss. One kiss eight years ago that changed everything. A kiss so unforgettable that the memory still plays in Imani Lavender’s mind to this day. And then came the disaster that tore her heart to shreds, causing her to put miles between herself and her hometown of Potomac Falls. When she finds herself traveling home for her sister’s wedding weekend, she never imagined she’d ever lay eyes on Dallas “Bleu” Alexander again. That is until a spilled caramel latte on a Friday plunges her right into the arms of the one man she thought she’d never see again. Bleu was only ever meant to be a teenage crush, but the way his body engulfs hers reminds her that it could be so much more. Imani finds herself having to deal with years of unresolved feelings in one seventy-two-hour weekend while ensuring her sister makes it down the aisle.
Fresh off an eight-year bid, Bleu’s had one thing on his mind for almost a making Imani Lavender his. As the baby sister of his right hand, she’d always been off-limits. Untouchable. Unthinkable. Until she wasn’t. The kiss had been on replay in his mind for almost a decade. Now the stars have aligned to put them back in the same place they started. He refuses to let any more time pass between them before telling her how he feels. But how will she react? After all, she’s far from the heart-eyed teenager she was back then. To him, she’s so much more.
Imani & Bleu finally connect after years of each of them crushing on each other…Imani returns to Potomac Falls for her little sister’s wedding and she runs into her long time crush and her brothers best friend Bleu and this time he’s not letting her get away. I enjoyed the story…and the end of the story is a MESS (a messy mess)…I can’t wait to see what next in this story…..The Narration wasn’t that great.
I wanted to come here and leave my review about the transcendence of Bleu and Imani's love, but that cliffhanger has me in a chokehold. K.L. Hall wrote a grouping table of two souls just trying to work out v the kinks of love. The growth that Bleu displayed was awe-inspiring. Imani stood her ground which was refreshing to see, but Imma need Sis to do like Mario said and let that man love her. But whew, that cliffhanger. I never would have expected that. Hall blindsided Bleu, Imani, Isa, hell even my ass. And I hope they air the whole shit out because them folks was beyond fowl.
This was a really quick read about Imani and Bleu. Sort of an age gap romance. Imani confesses her love to her childhood friend, Bleu. Out of respect for her brother, Bleu decides to leave their feelings as unchartered territory. When Imani's sister's wedding forces her to visit her hometown, Potomac Falls, she runs across Bleu, reminding her of feelings she desperately wants to forget. These characters are forced to revisit their past and the tragedy involved, along with facing new drama. This book ends on a cliffhanger, but book two is scheduled to drop the middle of this month.
Chileee IKYFL! The audiobook version was so good, the narrators really brought the emotions and the story to life. The ending— how trifling. I am appalled 😱 - also, I love Bleu!! ❤️
That ending was some true soap opera type mess right there! I MUST read the other parts. I mean the story was interesting enough, and I wanna know more of why Imani doesn’t like her hometown minus the obvious. There’s definitely more. And what the helllllll is Isa going to do now…yikes.
So much in such a small package. Imani has been in love with her older brother's best friend Bleu for over half of her life, and the same night she works up enough courage to tell him both their lives are destroyed. Her brother loses his life to the streets and Imani runs hard and fast from the town that holds the memory of beloved brother and the first man she ever loved. Only now her sister is getting married and she can no long avoid her hometown. Of course running into to the boy who broke your while getting coffee is the card fate deals her. Only this time Bleu not letting her go, applying full pressure. She has decisions to make only she has to deal with her sister relationship struggles on top of everything else. There is amazing spice and all kinds of steamy amongst all the drama so worry not. Beware there is a cliffhanger which is why my title says I wanna fight! First book by K. L. Hall definitely won't be my last.
WHEW CHILE THAT ENDING TOOK ME OUT CAUSE WTF😳😳😳👀👀👀🤬🤬🤬. IT’S THE HAVING A FEELING THAT SOMETHING WASN’T RIGHT WITH THE MONA’S WHOLE VIBE AND IT BEING CONFIRMED. I KNEW IT WAS MORE TO THEM SUPPOSEDLY GETTING IN TO IT ABOUT HIM NOT HAVING ON A FREAKIN’ BOW TIE 🙄. THAT BIH IS ALL KINDS OF FOUL LIKE SERIOUSLY 🤔🤬🤬🤬.
BLEU IS EVERYTHING AND IMANI IS SO STICK ON THE PAST SHE’S GONNA MISS OUT ON HER FUTURE. LIKE AT FIRST I GOT WHY SHE WAS ANGRY, ETC, BUT SIS STOP HOLDING ON TO THAT HURT LIKE A SECOND LAYER OF SKIN🙄
MY HEART BROKE FOR ISA CAUSE DESPITE HER BEING CONTROLLING AND A LITTLE BRAT, SHE DON’T DESERVE THAT TYPE OF BETRAYAL😔💔
Ok, I am picking my face up after that ending! You play too much ma'am, leaving us hanging like that! I loved Imani and Bleu reconnecting after all of those years. She is still uncertain of him, and his intentions, but is readily accepting his hood wood! 😂 Bleu is not playing, and is ready to make up for lost time. I hope that they can find a way to work things out. Now Mama Lavender need her ass whooped for what she did, and the actions that she has set in motion! Really, to your daughter! She is trash, for real for real! 😠 Isa knew her gut was screaming something was wrong! How is she going to take this news! Lawd, I need book 2 like now! 👍👍👍
I love a good cliffhanger, but this did not do it for me. First, the story started off like a book about Imani and Bleu and somehow was taken over by 3 side characters. I don't see why we have to wait to hear how things turn out for her and Bleu. They aren't even the main focus of book 2 or 3. If the author is telling a Jerry Springer episode about a messy family, why not include all of them in the synopsis. I felt like the first book was very misleading about what to expect, and I couldn't bring myself to read on. I've read other great stories by this author, but this series was not for me.
This book was just okay there wasn’t really anything special about it, like the two main characters were fine but I just couldn’t connect with their love story. As for the betrayal, there is nothing to justify what her mother did, like that is so disgusting!!! No matter what that’s you’re daughter and you and this man were playing in her face not to mention that she’s PREGNANT?!?! They’re awful people and I’ll stand by that no matter what happens in the next one. Just ewww.
That ending was something else. I assumed it was the mother and Axel when they both didn't answer their phones. How trifling is that. I pray that Isa listens to her intuition and run far away from the alter. I have a feeling that Imani is going to be stubborn and moss out on the fabulous man that Bleu is but that's her lost if she wants to hang on to the past...let him go find love somewhere else. After that cliffhanger I can't wait to dive into book 2.
This was a nice short novel. Imani and Bleu reconnecting was long overdue but they definitely made up for that lost time. After eight long years they still carried those same feelings. You don't get that too often but it was worth the wait. Now on the other side of things, Mrs Lavender know she is wrong on so many levels. How dare you do that to your daughter. Really anxious to see how this works out.
If this were a series on Netflix, ya girl would be HOOKT! I’m talking bingeing in one sitting & going back to rewatch because whooooweee this was a good read. Everything was paced perfectly. You really connect with the characters & that Bleu…we just gon add him to the “carry heavy club” #BDEALLDAY. That secret at the end 🤯. I knew something was shady boots! On to book two
3.5 well if this didn't pull the rug out from under me. Its a great short synopsis of a story I hope goes into more detail because the way we got snatched up by the ending cliffhanger revelation had me in traction!!! 80% of this book is a nice easy sexy romantic story....then BAM...messy drama is on the horizon. I cant wait...actually i can because i hate cliffhangers so hopefully this doesn't get dragged out into a bunch of books but it may be too late for me...Im in.
Hmmm 🥴, unscrupulous‼️”Something Bleu: Potomac Falls - Book One” (3.75) a mediocre read until it wasn’t. I understand, content creators, authors, creatives etc thrive off of shock value😳. But 🤬, REALLY⁉️What plausible explanation could either possibly offer to justify the disloyalty amongst family. …this is going to be interesting. Nonetheless, I’m going to attempt to reserve my judgment until I get context for this hot geriatric messy triangle.
This was great. Second chance romance between Bleu and Imani. Imani's sister is getting married which brings Imani back to Potomac Falls for the first time in many years. Imani runs into her old crush, Bleu and those feelings come rushing back.
Meanwhile, Imani's sister is set to get married but she has a bad feeling something is wrong. On her wedding day she's freaked out and can't reach the groom. Imani finds him and another guest in a compromising position. Cliffhanger.
Super strong start with Imani and Bleu’s introduction to their love story, which was rooted in so much pain. The way we get that background and then get pulled into the present day, right at the wedding weekend of Imani’s sister Isa, had me hooked. The family drama swirling around Isa’s big day added layers that made this novella so entertaining.
K.L. Hall did some really great storytelling in such a little package. I closed the book already ready to dive into book two.
Imani walked away from her hometown for 8 years, she only returned home for her sisters' wedding. This weekend turns out to be more than she bargained from rekindling an old flame to a devastating secret being revealed. How will Imani handle it all? A definite must read!
Bleu is coming full force for what he believes is his and I'm here for it! Imani is a grown woman stuck in the fog of childhood heartbreak and trauma. Now, that trauma has gained new layers. I loved Bleu's passion for love and familial ties. I'm over Ms. Lavender.
I didn't know what I was in store for when I picked up this book. I'm so glad that I did from the first page Imani and then Bleu will grab your attention. I'm loving these two already. I can't believe I wasn't following this author. I will be from now on. Quickly without hesitation moving on to book two.😲
This was jot awful but certainly not good. I also HATE cliffhangers. So unnecessary. There was zero character development. Just jumped right into the sex. I hadn’t read anything by this author so tried. Won’t be paying to read the next. If it ends up on audio at the library or KU, I’ll listen.
This story Something Bleu left me with my mouth hanging open. For the youngest sister to find out how her mom could hurt her big sister. You’d be surprised what you’ve read. I would definitely recommend this book because I have to read the next book in series to see what happens.
What the h*** did I just remove not mind you love blue. Absolutely love the fact that they reconnected and it was super passionate and they have to figure it out but what the h*** It's going on with the mom and isa's Fiance soon to be husband I didn't see that s*** come in not from a mile away. Yes I gotta happen to this second book because shut the f*** up
I so loved book 1. The Betrayal!! But before the betrayal Imani and Bleu long lost loves finally getting a chance to make it right after 8 long years!! Can’t wait till book 2 drops.
I need book 2 ASAP. Axel should of been told Isa it was over. The Mother!!!! Wow with a mother like that you don't need home wrecking bestfriend. Now Bleu and Imani need to get it together ❤.
I had a feeling things were too good to be true with Isa and Axel. The night of the rehearsal dinner gave it away for me. Shits about to hit the fan and I am buckled up for the ride.
This well written story really left me stuck. I am loving some of these characters and all the crazy drama. For a mother to do this to her child is just crazy. Eight years later the man you wanted finally wants you. I definitely can't wait for more of this five star read.
