Manga creator ONE first created One-Punch Man as a web comic, where it quickly went viral, garnering over 10,000,000 hits! Along with One-Punch Man, ONE also writes and draws another series called Mob Psycho 100.
This has to be the darkest and goriest volume yet. A truly unpredictable turn of events as a group of villains crawls out of the rubble and destroy anyone in their path.
The introduction of Blast is quite intriguing, though. It's hard to say what role he'll play in upcoming chapters, but he's clearly hiding more than he's letting on.
Garo’s belief that people unite against a common fear, or “impartial evil” as he calls it, reminded me of Ozymandias in Watchmen. See how that turns out for you, Garo. Still love him tho
Wasn’t expecting a Tornado flashback but FINALLY I need to understand her better.
Hot damn here we go! Not only is Tornado & Genos teaming up to fight the big bad, we get critical backstory about Tornado when she was young. The other supers are teaming up to help rescue anyone left in town including themselves. The team up banter was very much missing from the last few volumes, it is great. The Garo thing is kind of cringy eyeroll with the whole Wolverine style "I'm not a Hero" bit. Good stuff overall!
It's intense. I sometimes wonder why—or how—Murata-sensei put so much meticulous detail into a single panel, or conceptual design; when some of these appear in the story but for a mere fleeting moment. Also; a thrill to see Blast lift up a few of the other top heroes when even they! are down. But One, please, I implore you—in the upcoming books let's see more of Saitama and Flashy Flash!!!
Strange cover, but pretty cool. Genos and Tornado vs Psychos/Orochi or whatever they've turned into. Not sure about the earth getting screwed with the city being twisted. Not trusting Drive knight with his sample gathering. Nice to see the S class heroes coming together. Liking the Zombieman and Amai mask spark of friendship there.

The fighting continues! Solid stuff. This arc has definitely gone on too long, but it’s because the art SLAPS SO HARD that we gotta let One and Murata cook.
Honestly, parts of this volume really felt like a return to form and other parts were just sort of nostalgic. Injured heroes remembered themselves and got back into the fight. Genos and Metal Knight teamed up in a very cool, new way. We learn a ton about Tornado and the scale of the demons, threats and fights somehow got bigger. Like, the biggest we've ever seen. 10/10 installment for me and some of the progress I had been hoping for finally started to show up. We're on the cusp of the next big thing here and this volume gives a huge springboard into what that might be.
I really enjoyed this volume. I love seeing Tornado being protective over Blizzard. Getting to see a piece of their backstory was fantastic. I can't wait for the next volume
Disappointing, unfortunately. The plot and action are forgettable and uninspired. Some of these volumes just feel like they repeat similar beats from previous ones in a less compelling way.
Yeah ! This is the kind of volume that makes you love shonen genre , heroes combine their might and Tornado goes Berserk . This was simply a volume to make you all hyped up
Tornado steals the show. Her flashback was a nice insight. The fight with Psychos is expanding rapidly. Blast finally appears (albeit in flashback/hallucination form), will we see more of him soon?
The chapter covers are especially nice this time, will the upcoming anime ever live up to the source material though?
This volume takes a much darker turn than usual, and honestly, it’s a wild ride! The stakes feel incredibly high, and the intensity in this volume is off the charts. The action sequences are so epic that I couldn’t help but feel like I was watching a full-blown Avengers movie.
The shift in tone really worked for me—since we don’t always see this in *One-Punch Man*. While the humor and lighthearted moments are still there, the darker themes make this volume stand out in a good way.
One Punch Man is written by ONE (Mob Psycho 100) and drawn by Yusuke Murata (Eye shield 21). This is one series that I highly recommend watching the anime and manga. On some series, one is enough…on One Punch Man, I highly recommend watching the show and reading the manga! You will equally find the two formats entertaining. The tide is turning in this out-of-control battle but there are heroes left as a mere shell of their former selves. Some pages in this book have zero…absolutely no words…but it is sooooo good! My daughters have been hesitant to get into this series, but my high praise has them slowly creeping forward to give it a try. The characters are rich, and the dialogue is funny and entertaining. This series is not to be slept on, and this volume is another reason why there is so much eager anticipation for a third season of the anime series.
Loved the darker and more emotional tone of this volume, but the pacing was so bizarre. This will always be a brilliant and deeply satirical series to me with a fantastic, well-developed ensemble cast, but its on-and-off pacing issues, especially with recent volumes, are resulting in a marked loss of narrative tension that I’m really remiss to admit….It’s surprising to me because for so long this series so expertly avoided the trappings of having zero narrative tension despite its core concept’s potentiality to facilitate such a tension-less experience. I’m still really enjoying my time with this impressively large and well-managed cast of characters, but I’m feeling VERY ready to push onward with the story and…I don’t know…spend some substantial time with the titular character?
Here wraps up (?) it's a big ginormous multi volume battle... Maybe? It's unclear whether or not the big finale took out the baddie or not, it wasn't defined but left open. Meanwhile one punch man continues to wander around not really doing anything except raise our expectations. Perhaps the newly revealed something might be the chance for hero to finally shine? I keep waiting for him to get out there and acknowledged for his abilities. How long are they going to keep him in the shadows?
Decent, but contains flashes of great stuff rather than anything consistent. I enjoyed the Tornado backstory, and the increasing reliance on a cosmic horror tone, but there’s still too much busywork and not enough story momentum. For all the triumphant displays of cooperation, will the S-Class heroes really come out of this remarkably different than when they started? And if not, isn’t that kind of a problem for an arc that has been going on for over ten volumes now?
