My husband Spade was put down like a dog for a crime he didn't commit. His name was tarnished, his legacy stripped from him. To clear him of these crimes I'm going to become one of the East River Saints and expose the brother who framed him. Their President, my childhood best friend, wasn't the one to pull the trigger, but he did nothing to stop his death, either. I'll need him to make it through the hazing and initiation, even if I don't want anything to do with him, because his men are out for my blood.
I got to read an early copy of Widow, and y'all do NOT want to miss this one.
Widow had everything I've come to expect from Leighelle's books including the most painfully delicious slow burn. She does this SO WELL, building up the tension and emotion, and making you really feel what the characters are feeling.
This book had all the spice, angst, drama, and even a bit of intrigue to keep me hooked!!! Like, I need Part 2 now please. It's essential to my survival.
First I have to say, this is not a typical MC book, so be prepared!
I love when I go into a book totally blind. I have read Leighelle's previous work and I'm a fan, she writes from her heart, it might sound cliché, but when an author is authentic and dives into the deepest of emotions to deliver her work, it is rare and beautiful.
Her new work is nothing like what she previously wrote and OMG what an intense roller coaster. Nova is a very strong FMC, grieving the loss of her loved one, but she has so much determination, her grief touched me.
Razor is our MMC, he seems the shadow of what he used to be, but losing his brother marked him. Only one who has known pain knows how much it changes people.
Razor and Nova are childhood best friends, and they reconnect through love, pain, guilt and grief.
This book is a standalone, slow burn that mixes mystery, intrigue and romance in a world where family and loyalty are everything.
I really hope our Author writes more books in this amazing universe!
The first line is the best hook line a story can get, it incites the curious me to know what is the story all about. Nova is the MC and the entire story revolves around her solving the case of who framed her dead husband. The plot of the story builds the bad guys' world correctly, it’s written well with proper descriptions. Where the story is moving at a nice pace but is stretching due to repetitive thoughts of the characters, and the same dialogues in one frame or the other. I appreciate the emotions behind the scenes but the same lines just make the book a little lengthy. The best part of the book is Nova’s character, how determined and strong she is, and how well she takes up the challenges presenting themselves in front of her. Sinclaire is the one who earns my respect at the end of the story. She has a strong journey ahead of her.
Okay so I’ve got a MAJOR crush on Widow- that woman is hell on wheels and I’m here for every single second of it!
This story was really great. A little different from what I’m used to from a MC romance and I really really liked how it played out. There is the perfect mix of drama, suspense and darkness. This author writes a slow burn like nobody else- and while I’m generally not a huge fan I love her writing. When things got spicy it’s very well done.
Widow and Razor have an undeniable connection and I couldn’t wait to see how the drama played out and how they were going to come out of things in the end. I also think Basher was a solid addition to the story and I’m hoping for more from this group in the future.
This book is absolutely captivating as it will hold your attention from beginning to the end. I seriously didn't want to put it down. There were twists and turns throughout the whole book. Widow was a FMC take you won't forget. She is seriously a kick butt kind of woman. She is completely and totally committed to finding out who set her husband Spade up. Her and Razor’s relationship changes and grows. You will have to read the book to find what happens. I wish I could get it more than 5 stars as it is so good. I seriously recommend you check it out.
