The squad's latest mission is to rescue a group of British holidaymakers from a remote glacier in South America, but things go wrong almost from the start.
The glacier is no dead domain of ice and snow.
Rather than attempting a rescue the S Squad find themselves in a fight for survival, in unfamiliar terrain where giants walk.
Hungry giants, with filed teeth and a taste for flesh.

The squad travels to the other side of the world for this mission, to rescue some adventure travelers from a glacier in Patagonia. But this time they know they are up against something else as they have seen video footage of the giants awaiting them. There are two new members in this one to bring the squad up to strength, but inexperience is a dangerous thing. They also get a helping hand from some unexpected allies in their fight against the giants and this one goes full speed from start to finish. There are also different viewpoints in this one which I liked, as well as the bit of closure in the ending for a change. Oh, and the giant sloths kept as livestock was comedic!!
I really like the Series keep up a good work. I do not think I read all of them but I read a bunch of them and they all were good. I really like is authors work.
Great book as always in the s-sqaud series cant wait for the next one would love to see how they would handle one of the ancient Greek or even Persian legends
S Squad return for another adventure, this time with two new recruits. Sent to search for and bring home a missing group of adventure seekers. Good book, that moves at a nice pace, William always delivers a solid adventure ride.
I find these short adventures really injoyable. Just quick paced action and adventure. Love the main chapters and all themes beast that Memoir comes up with.
The more I read the more I enjoy this rag-tag group of soldiers. You never know which of the characters might be lost on a mission but that doesn’t discourage you from becoming lost in the mission.
William Meikle rarely disappoints and this is yet another gripping page turner. While I would have liked more of the mysteries explained, I can't complain about any lack of entertainment.
This is by far the best squad of Army guys that slay monsters. Love all the characters and the only problem with this series is you want to read them fast, then they are done and you have to wait for the next one. awesome series.
The fourteenth book in the series, this one was a little bit of a letdown after the previous one. I never felt too worried about the main cast, and I only really got attached to one of the new guys, which is a shame as Meikle has proven he can write in a way that makes practically all of his side characters interesting.
The S-Squad are back on form in this one! Thoroughly enjoyed it, there aren’t too many creature feature books about giants, so it was quite refreshing.
