USA Today bestselling author Renee Ann Miller writes historical romances that are sometimes witty, sometimes dark, but always sexy. She penned her first book at the tender age of seven and even drew the impressive stick figures though clearly those characters weren’t as spicy as the ones she writes now. She has been a finalist in Romance Writers of America's RITA Award® and their Golden Heart Contest®. In her Infamous Lords Series the women are smart and the men notorious.

Renee lives in the Northeast with her husband and during winters is always anxious for spring. She enjoys gardening, DIY projects, and pastries. And though she grew up in a household of hockey fans, she now watches football, which is unavoidable in her house.

Fun characters abound in Miller's second book! The clever, funny writing is just as good as the first book, but I think Simon is MUCH, MUCH, MUCH hotter than Hayden. He's a damaged, scarred hero in need of rescuing and those are my favorite kind!

It's true that Lily came close to stealing the show, but I thought Emma was a strong enough character that she could handle a hilarious little sister-sidekick and still hold her own. Her dry, sarcastic asides were hilarious and their interactions are laugh-out loud funny.

LOVED the witty banter between Emma and Simon and the tension and sexy bits were smoking hot! I like how they got to know each other through her painting--I also like that she is not your usual society babe and there is more going on than the typical balls and dinners. Lily's obsession with early detective fiction makes for good comic relief and keeps you on your toes wondering what she is going to get up to next.

This book is a keeper and goes on my favorite shelf. I'm really loving this series and can't wait for the next book!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Emma Trafford is an aspiring painter who is raising her two younger siblings following the untimely deaths of their parents. Her sister, Lily, is a precocious child with a vivid imagination and an unhealthy obsession with mystery novels. When Lily believes she witnessed their new neighbor, Simon Radcliffe, murder his lover, Lilly breaks into Simon’s house to look for evidence. Emma follows Lily into their neighbor’s house, and as an unfortunate run-in with the man. Emma and Lily are able to escape without being recognized, leaving Simon determined to find the two people who he was convinced meant to rob him. Simon’s search leads him across the street to Emma’s house. Emma is determined to keep her secret; Simon is equally determined to keep his own secrets – his is the infamous and scandalous Lord Adler – while ferreting out the truth from Emma. Neither of them expected to fall in love in the process.

NEVER DECEIVE A VISCOUNT is a juicy romance novel featuring two very likeable main characters. Simon is a wounded hero who must overcome his strong distrust of women. Emma is an independent – albeit “ruined” – woman who is more determined to make a career for herself as a painter. Neither of them is interested in love or marriage, but that doesn’t stop fate from giving them a shove in that direction. The sexual tension between the two is great. And their romance takes places in a realistic, lifelike setting. This isn’t the type of romance that plays out between two characters during the Season. There aren’t any balls or society gatherings.

But Lily is, by far, my favorite character. The teenage girl adds some comic relief through her antics.

Enjoyed this book, as I had the first in the series, and am sure I will the next as well. Second in a series, this stands quite well alone. The h is a portraitist, elder sister, painting to support her siblings. Orphaned as an older teenager, she was taken advantage of by a member of the peerage, so has a distrust for them. Our H is a peer, whose mistress had resided across the street from her, and her younger sister, fond of mystery novels, thinks he has murdered the mistress. The younger sister sneaks into the house, the older sister pursues her, and the H comes to retrieve a cat, leading to a kiss in the dark, a bump on the head, and the theft of His signet ring.
Determined to track down his ring and catch the thief, he moves into the house, nut as a Mr, not a Lord, and attempts to track down his ring and attacker’s. Of course, he befriends the sisters and finds himself attracted to the elder sister, as the younger continues to view him as a murderer and a threat. Posing for a portrait, they fight their mutual attraction, until they don’t.
Of course, things don’t run smoothly, but eventually, we have our HEA. Will definitely watch for more by this author!

The shine has not gone from Ms. Miller’s writing. I read her first book and loved it and this book is just as good. Ms. Miller’s voice is refreshing in today’s historical romance world. It was a fast read that I just kept saying “one more chapter”. Simon and Emma’s journey to their HEA was a bit difficult. I loved how Simon kept trying ensnare Emma but she knew his game and avoided his traps (think cat and mouse). The compassion that both of them had for others whether it be their family, friends or just a kid who needs a place to stay and work (loved Nick) really stood out in this story. I loved this book! Looking forward to the other Infamous Lords’ stories.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series and this one was equally entertaining. The characters were very likeable. Emma had a difficult life providing and caring for her brother and sister. She does this by using her skill as an artist. Her sister, Lily is a very likeable scamp, some of the things she says are priceless. Simon, Viscount Adler has his problems, although not financial ones. Simon and Emma are attracted to each other but they both have secrets that could hinder their relationship. There are a number of interesting secondary characters amongst the servants. I’m looking forward to the next in the series concerning one of Simon’s friends. I received a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I did preorder my own copy because I had enjoyed the first story so much.

Another great book in the Infamous Lords series!

I thought the second book, Never Deceive a Viscount was just as good as the 1st book in this series. I've been really impressed by Renee Ann Miller's writing and storytelling. She writes great characters and the love is a slow burn, but there's still attraction from the beginning.

Over the years, I seem to like the slow burn relationship better then instalove and both books in this series has followed this formula.

I loved the character Simon Radcliffe! He was such a great character to cheer for and as the book progressed, you like him more and more.
Emma Trafford is an amazing painter but she's not getting the recognition that she deserves. She's taking care of her two younger siblings since their parents are dead. I liked Emma as well!

The story starts off with Emma Trafford's sister breaking into Simon Radcliffe's house because she thought he killed a woman. Turns out, she confuses murder with Simon having sex with his mistress. I was highly amused with the way this book started.
Lilly, the younger sister was a funny girl with a highly, vivid imagination. Look out Sherlock Holmes! She really added to the comedy aspect in this book!
Emma follows her sister to save her from her "investigating hobby" and that's how Simon and Emma meet. And not necessarily a good first impression between the two.

If more books come out in this series, I will definitely read them.
Miller is really impressing me with her plots and characterization!

Never Deceive a Viscount by Renee Ann Miller is book Two in the Infamous Lords series. This is the story of Emma Trafford and Simon Marlton, Viscount Adler. I have read the previous book but feel this can be a standalone book.
Emma is the older sister taking care of her younger sister while their brother is away at school. Emma is a painter and that is how she makes extra money. Lily the younger sister likes mystery/drama type books which leads her mind to think something is going on next door. When Lily sneaks into Simon's house to look into what is going on...Emma goes after her. Looking to distract Simon she kisses him and then runs.
Now Simon is looking for her and he thinks she took his ring. But the more times he spends with her trying to find out the truth the more he wants her.
Loved their story...Lily was so funny.

I had a massive fit of the giggles during the opening scenes of this Victorian-era romance. The heroine Emma’s younger sister, Lily, is addicted to a series of penny dreadful novels and convinced she is constantly on the verge of stumbling upon a major crime. Invading the house across the street to investigate the ‘murder’ Lily thinks she witnessed, she manages to accidentally involve herself and our poor heroine in an actual crime when they end up knocking out a gentleman and Lily steals his signet ring.

Emma spends a considerable part of the book trying to react to Lily’s tendency to drag her into trouble, and managed to thoroughly endear herself to me at the same time. I thought she was adorable with her fiercely protective nature, and not surprised in the least that Simon fell for her. Of course, there are lots of shenanigans, not least when Simon’s former mistress (who Lily thought she saw Simon murder - you can probably guess what they were up to) arrives back in the picture at a very delicate moment.

This was a light, charming, thoroughly enjoyable read. Despite the humour, there was plenty of deep character building for the two leads and I finished the book very much believing they were an excellent match for each other. Fun and a bit different from the run of the mill historical, I’m giving this one five stars.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley to read in exchange for a fair review. Never Deceive a Viscount is Renee Ann Miller’s second book. We met first Simon Marlton, the infamous Viscount Adler in her other book Never Dare A Wicked Earl and while this book can be read as a stand alone why would you deny yourself the treat that Renee Ann Miller’s books are. Emma Trafford is trying to raise her two siblings Michael and Lily after the death of her parents. She is struggling to keep Michael in school and a roof over their heads by working as a portraitist. Lily’s precocious imagination leads them into a knock out confrontation with Simon, which leads to him moving in across the street pretending to be Mr. Radcliffe in order to solve the mystery of his missing ring. I loved everything about this story ... the characters, the steam, the lemon tarts. I am so happy to have discovered Renee Ann Miller’s books and can’t wait for the next one. I read the debut novel by Ms Miller, NEVER DARE A WICKED EARL, and wasn't particularly impressed. But this one, also offered to me as a Vine ARC, sounded relatively entertaining, so I thought to give the author a second chance.

Heroine Emma Trafford is struggling to make ends meet as the sole support of her two younger siblings, brother Michael, away at school, and sister Lily, living at home with her. Emma works as a portraitist and only just manages to pay all the bills.

Hero Simon Marlton, Viscount Adler, has a cozy love nest set up for mistresses next door to Emma's place. One day Lily sees him in an enthusiastic sexual encounter with his mistress of the moment and believes she is observing a murder. When the mistress is no longer to be seen around after that episode, Lily is sure he has murdered her and disposed of the body.

Lily, it must be said, is fond of reading penny dreadfuls and has an active imagination. She does some breaking and entering into the viscount's place in search of clues, gets sister Emma unfortunately involved, and manages some petty theft by slipping Simon's signet ring into her pocket. When they are surprised in the act by Simon, before he can really see who they are, Emma, in desperation, kisses him and then Lily knocks him unconscious.

A slow, very slow, story ensues. Simon, desperately seeking signet ring and sexy thief, becomes suspicious of neighbor Emma and arranges for her to paint his portrait so he can check her out and prove or disprove his suspicions. His investigatory skills are nonexistent, unfortunately, but his sexual interest in Emma isn't.

Emma, BTW, shows herself to be a colorless character lacking assertiveness. Frankly, she's boring. But she's lovely and Simon is drawn to her. And Emma, weak-willed creature that she is, is attracted to Simon while at the same time is fearful of being arrested for theft. Oh, for pity's sake. This story could have ended in a few pages with Emma confessing what Lily had done, handing Simon back his signet ring, and the two confessing their love for each other. Done and done.

To make this slight plot a bit less slight, the author mixes in poor Simon's oh-so-sad relationship with his late father due to the evil machinations of his perverted stepmother and his subsequent distrust of womankind. And we also have a tacked-on problem for Emma involving brother Michael.

I can see that Miller has tried to make this a sympathetic story by having both characters good (yes, womanizing Simon is really a lovely person and Emma should be nominated for sister sainthood). And there's some human interest added in, interactions with children and servants that are supposed to warm the heart and/or add humor. But the story bored me and moved too slowly until the last 30 or so pages when it seemed somebody lit a match under the plot to get something going on besides tenting trousers and wishy-washy female arousal and ridiculously ineffectual crime investigation.

In addition, the dialogue was dull, lacking spark, wit, or cleverness. All in all, I found the read to be uninspiring.

Never Deceive a Viscount is the second book in the Infamous Lords series by Renee Ann Miller. It can be read as a standalone book.

Emma and her sister Lily share a home with their brother who is away at school. Emma is responsible for her younger siblings and she makes ends meet by being an artist. Her sister Lily while spying on her neighbour witnesses what she believes to be a murder. A lover of mystery novels she takes it upon herself to sneak into the man's house to investigate. Fortunately, Emma realises what she is doing and follows quickly after her to bring her home.

Simon Marlton, Viscount Adler is their neighbour. What Lily suspected to be a murder was his mistress in the throes of passion. He has tired of her and as soon as they are done he sends her on a trip to Paris to buy some new gowns. She doesn't realise he wants to end things so happily goes on her way. Seeing large trunks being put into a carriage, large enough to hold a body makes Lily even more adamant that a murder has taken place.

Unfortunately, Simon catches Emma moving around in the dark in his house and quickly tackles her to the ground thinking she is a lad robbing him. She fights him off and when he realises that she is a woman he is shocked. He is even more shocked when she grabs him and starts to kiss him! Sidetracked by the passionate kiss in such strange circumstances he doesn't hear Lily sneak up behind him which she uses to her advantage by smashing a vase over his head knocking him unconscious.

When he wakes he is disorientated, and his anger turns extreme when he realises his family signet ring has been stolen from his finger. He is determined to find the woman and her accomplice to retrieve his ring and see them punished.

A big clue that his valet discovers is that the woman must be an artist because of the smell of turpentine left on Simon's clothes from where Emma grabbed him. He sets about searching for any female artists in the area and when he finally meets Emma he can't believe that she could be the one who so brazenly broke into his house, tussled with him and then kissed him so passionately. She is the only artist he has seen that is the correct height though, so he decides he must sit for her in order to spend the time he needs hoping to find out the truth.

During their sittings Simon doesn't let on who he is, Emma believes he is just a wealthy gentleman. She also suspects he knows she is the thief that stole into his home and took his ring. It was Lily who took the ring. In her naivety, she thought it was proof that he was evil! Emma doesn't know how she will be able to return the ring to him without being caught out, but she will cross that bridge when she comes to it. First of all, she has to complete his portrait without him sussing out who she is. A difficult enough task, but even more so when she finds herself reliving that kiss she shared with him, and wanting to kiss him again.

Simon is suffering from feelings of confusion too because even suspecting Emma is a thief he can't get over his reaction to their kiss. How can he want to kiss her again when she could be the one who stole from him and only kissed him so that her accomplice could knock him out.

Both of them are so confused about each other but the more time they spend together the more they seem to be falling for each other. How can they have a future with the secrets that lay between them? How can they have a future if those secrets are told?

This was a really great story and I loved the characters. Emma had the weight of the world on her shoulders but struggled on without feeling a martyr. Lily was adorably daft with her crazy notions of Simon being a murderer. I laughed out loud at her antics. Simon, well what can I say about him? He is desperate for a family but won't admit it to himself, thinking he can be satisfied with just keeping a mistress. It takes Emma to make him realise that he needs much more than just a woman to warm his bed! We get to see him act the hero which is just wonderful. Other characters that I loved were Emma's cook who takes a fancy to Simon's 'man' and woos him with her lemon tarts! Then there is Nick, a boy from the streets that Simon gives work. So many wonderful characters and such a beautiful story revolving around them all. I happily recommend this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers' copy of this book.

Never Deceive a Viscount was an absolute delight to read with an amazing group of characters and a fantastic romance.

When her sister Lily claims she saw the new neighbor murder a woman, Emma Trafford believes the girl’s imagination (and love of detective novels) has gotten the better of her. After Lily breaks into the man’s house to find evidence, Emma must follow and get her out before she is seen. When the man himself unexpectedly appears, Emma distracts him with a kiss to give Lily time to get away. Simon Marlton, Viscount Adler is determined to catch the intruder who kissed him one minute and knocked him out the next, absconding with his signet ring in the process. When the trail leads to Emma, Simon aims to catch his thief but never expected to lose his heart in the process.

Following the deaths of their parents, Emma began working as a portraitist to support herself and her two younger siblings. Emma is devoted to her family and is determined to find a way to support them. Her relationship with Lily felt a lot like a mother/daughter relationship which was likely due to their age gap. After a disastrous end to a previous relationship, Emma doesn’t believe she’ll find love although she does dream of one day having a husband and children.

Simon is a bit jaded towards women due to his stepmother turning his father against him at age sixteen and having him cast out of his family home. Instead of finding a meaningful relationship, he goes through mistresses fairly quickly. When it comes to his friends and his staff, Simon is very generous and does everything within his power to make the lives of those around him better.

Emma and Simon’s relationship has the wonderful addition of a game of cat and mouse as each tries to discover the information they need from the other. Their relationship is quite flirty with a lot of banter and tons of chemistry between the two. Things progress a bit slowly between them, but it’s incredibly sexy when their relationship does begin to heat up. When the inevitiable separation occurs, it thankfully doesn’t last very long and gets resolved quickly due to Emma’s sister interferring.

We did get to see the characters from the first book in the series return which was wonderful. I’m always happy to see characters pop up again after they’ve gotten their happily ever after. There is a small side plot about a money lender that felt a bit out of place and I think the book would have been better off without it’s inclusion. That was the only small thing I didn’t like about this book as the rest is quite fantastic.

Never Deceive a Viscount was just as much fun as the first book in the series and I can’t wait to see what the author does next. I definitely recommend this series to anyone looking for a fun historical romance series to pick up.

I had such a good time with Never Deceive a Viscount. Young crime fighter, Lily, does try to steal the show from Emma and Simon but it’s the adults that provide a lovely, quirky romance that any Regency Romance reader would enjoy.

Through a major misunderstanding of what she witnessed, Lily is convinced that their next door neighbor is a murderer and sets out to prove it. When her older sister, Emma, goes after Lily as she does some breaking and entering they both land in a bit of an embarrassing situation. Now, unknown to Emma an infamous lord will move in as a mere Mr. and engage her talents as a portrait artist, all the while searching for clues to the identity of the thief who stole an important signet ring on that fateful night.

What we discover are two unlikely people falling in love, and a young lady convinced of a murder. Simon and Emma work well as a couple who are trying their best to not fall. Each has their reasons to be leery of the other and it’s an enjoyable time watching them get beyond their issues and letting what happens naturally… just happen. There are a few twists, and this story certainly kept me on my toes. If you love a good romp then Never Deceive a Viscount should be on your reading list. I’m enjoying this series and look forward to the next one.

Publisher's Description:

A ZEBRA SHOUT FRESH NEW ROMANCE

They are the infamous lords, notorious noblemen who indulge their irreverence in public, but keep their personal struggles private. For a portrait artist, capturing...

Clearly, Emma Trafford’s new neighbor is a lady killer—but is the scoundrel with the scar capable of murder? Emma can barely contain her precocious younger sister, Lily—the child swears she spied their neighbor engaged in foul play in his Bloomsbury love nest. But when Lily goes too far searching for “evidence,” Emma must save the imp by distracting Simon—with an all-consuming kiss rife with danger and desire . . .

Simon Marlton, Viscount Adler doesn’t know which is more infuriating: that an anonymous intruder set his soul on fire and left a deep longing in her wake . . . or that during their encounter his signet ring, a token of his painful past, went missing. With the memory of a faint scent of paint spirits and the knowledge that his neighbor Emma is a portraitist, Simon sets out to capture his thief. He draws Emma into a flirtatious game, commissioning the talented lass to paint him—and enticing them both to reveal their whispered suspicions and deepest secrets . . .

My Thoughts:

This is the second book in the series by a new author on the scene.
I read her debut novel and was very impressed.
I was certain that it was just a fluke and that it couldn't possibly happen again with a new author but it did!
Not only did she continue to amaze me but her second book is a can't put down read.
Lily is an inquisitive and precocious younger sister to our heroine.
She is certain that she saw their neighbor commit murder and will go far to prove she is right.
Simon is unaware of the snoopy young lady who lives across the way. When Lily breaks into his home to gather evidence against him he is certain that his intruders are up to no good.
After following Lily to their neighbors home and indulging in a kiss with the stranger an attraction blooms between Emma and Simon.
Simon is out to prove his thief and intruder is Emma but he finds himself drawn to her.
How will this unwanted but mutual attraction play out?
I gave this book 4.75 of 5.0 stars for storyline and character development and a sensual rating of 4of5 flames.
Their frequently interrupted intimacy is very disconcerting to our couple but the description is both humorous and sexy.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley to read and review. This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

This book was an excellent second installment in Miller's Infamous Lords series. After meeting Lord Simon Adler in "Never Dare A Wicked Lord" it was enlightening to get to know the reasons behind his behavior and reputation and to watch him grow as he develops his relationship with Emma. Simon and Emma meet due to the reckless curiosity of Emma's younger sister but their meeting involves Simon being kneed in the groin and smashed over the head with a vase, leading Simon to search for the culprits of his injuries. One of the things that I liked the best is how believable the secrets that Simon and Emma kept were and how they both had to overcome their past fears and pride in order to embrace their relationship. Definitely looking forward to the next book in this series!

Great book!

Renee Miller is a new author for me. And I'm so glad I found her books. I've read the first two books in the Infamous Lords series, and what great stories they were. I liked the second book a little better, probably because of the younger sister Lily. ( I would love to see a future story about her.).
The other secondary characters are enjoyable also. This book made me laugh, a lot, and cry, a little, but mostly, just enjoy a good story.
Looking forward to the next book in the series, and other books by this author. I highly recommend this book, and the previous book in the series.
You won't be disappointed.

Another Infamous Lord bites the dust. Simon Marlton, Viscount Adler has been hit on the head and robbed. He is determined to find the guilty party. Emma Trafford is just protecting her sister Lily. Lily has a very vivid imagination that often leads to trouble. Simon just knows that Emma is the one who robbed him but nothing fits. This is a nice story with a hero, Simon, who has good reason for not trusting women and a ruined woman, Emma, who is much better than Simon deserves. There is some tension and a ending that fits the story line.

What a lovely way to spend the day—a good historical romance, coffee, and chocolate. Snappy intrigue and dialogue wrapped around a good story—I was happy for Simon and Emma, but sad at the end because I wanted to spend more time with them. I loved the naughty little sister, and laughed at some of her antics. This is the second book in the series, and although it works as a stand-alone, I enjoyed getting to know a bit about Simon in “Never Dare a Wicked Earl.” I pre-ordered this one after I read the first one. Looking forward to her next book.

I won a copy of this book through a giveaway. This is my honest opinion.

This was my first book by Renee Ann Miller. I could not put it down! I love it! One of my all-time favorites! Who hasn't had to deal with a precocious, imaginative child! Lily reads fictional detective stories and thinks she's witnessed a murder which was actually the viscount, Simon, making love with his mistress! Emma, the big sister, has to keep Lily of out trouble when she sneaks over to the viscount's townhouse and gets Emma caught leading to a distracting kiss with Simon allowing Lily to escape. But Lily knocks Simon unconscious and takes his signet ring! Simon ships his mistress off so he can move into the townhouse and find the vixen he kissed. It was so much fun reading about Emma and Simon and watching their relationship develop!

The premise of this story was so believable and well written with characters that were fun! I smiled throughout the book. I've already bought another of Ms. Miller's books! For a fun, light-hearted read, I highly, highly recommend Never Deceive A Viscount!

This is a very entertaining story. After being robbed, Simon pretends to be a Mr. to track down the thief that kissed him, then stole his ring. He's a kind, caring man with a stubborn streak. And he's emotionally damaged, which leaves him determined not to trust any woman. Emma is strong, kind and generous. Having the responsibility of her two younger siblings has made her strong, especially having to deal with her little sister and her imagination. Simon's investigation zeroes in on Emma and he decides to catch her unaware and make her confess. He had no intention of falling in love, or having strange thoughts about Emma. Their cat and mouse game is amusing, romantic and sweet. All of the characters in this story are interesting and amusing, the butler and valet are hilarious. This is a must read that belongs on your TBR list.

Never Viscount

Wow! This is a fabulous book, I love Renee' s style of writing. I look forward to the next book in this series. Emma is raising her siblings. Her sister, Lily is a precocious twelve year old, who loves penny dreadful novels. She lets her imagination get the best of her. The Viscount buys a house across the street for his mistress, which leads to a wonderful love story. This book had me laughing out loud.

I'm writing this review before the epilogue Because I need to rant. So fucking much!
I'm so disappointed. Ugh I don't even know how to express my disappointment here. Ugh! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

UGH, LET'S START WITH WHAT I DON'T LIKE:
🖌️ Emma. The heroine. She was tried to shown honorable, and loving and was fooled once by a nobleman into giving her innocence to him on the promise of marriage which never happened. ಠ ͜ʖ ಠ

🖌️The pace of story. What the fuck! Once the H kissed the h, she was struck into his mind. And he found her quite easily or you can say suspected her.

He tried to play with the mouse/ rabbit. God knows how many time this prey predator analogy was given and I guess just to suggest how dangerous he was.
In a week he fell some sort of connection with her. Did all sort of things from sending a tuner for h piano, playing with heroine sister blah blah.
乁( •_• )ㄏ

I FIND THIS UNBELIEVABLE. How could a rake/ infamous lord get so easily enamoured with the heroine? Seriously!
(눈‸눈)

🖌️ Then there's a fact where the H still has a mistress when he was sort of pursuing / falling for the h. Let me be clear, I get mistresses were common then. Fine with me but I always want the H to be sort of single while going about to fall in love with her.

🖌️The ending drama!! Uff give me a fucking break will you? That lasted for 2 chapters. I'm crying my eyes out right now for how stupidly the author wanted to wind up the book.
In last chapter H realised he love the h don't ask me why of how because I still don't know.
In next chapter he rescued the h from some money lender.
In the next chapter he proposed the h. And she said yes instantly.
In next chapter they were doing the deeds as soon as they reach the h home.
In next chapter there would be epilogue.
Happy fucking ending.
(*_*)

WHAT I LIKED
Side characters.

Overall opinion
Utterly disappointed.
Beyond frustrated.
Too enraged.
Need a strong coffee to wash off the taste this book left in my mind

Never Deceive a Viscount, by Renee Ann Miller. I love it when a good book comes together. This story was a most animated romantic love story to read. From the characters to the plot and the sub-plot, everything was great! I love it when the writer can easily have me get swept away with their writing.
I absolutely love this authors talent at being able to tell a story that can so easily grab the readers attention and hold on to it for the duration of the book. The book was easy to read. I found that all the different issues that arises in the story are simple to follow and not get lost in the translation. The dialogue was real. The drama was intense, heartbreaking at times and the emotions from it all was so strong.
Emma and Simon’s characters are written wonderfully. It was as though the two personalities bounced off each other. Basically it was Emma love’s Simon and Simon loves Emma. The characters that I really did enjoy reading were Lily, Baines and Harris. Oh my gosh, Lily could give anyone grey hairs by just attending to her for ten minutes.
With her there was always murderous suspect around the corner. And then there is Baines, Simons Valet and Harris the butler who can’t even cook a lick. Their love for Simon is genuine, but they treat him like he has lost his marbles sometimes. I had a fun time giggling and laughing when the book came to their characters. Believe when you read their scenes you will love them too.
This was the most thrilling book to read. I wish that their story didn’t end, but I look forward to more awesome books from this writer. She definitely has a way to tell a story that can play like a movie in your mind as you read the book. I give this book two snaps and a, “Baines! Please summon Mrs. Flynn and bar Harris from the kitchen, even you have to drag him kicking and screaming”. Until next time my fellow readers… read on!

I loved Renee Ann Millers first book and this one is no different. Although this can be a stand alone book, it would really help to read the first one. The two do connect, this one picking up where the first left off.
This book stays with a "Rear Window " scenario. Emma's (our heroine) younger sister, Liliy (who virtually steals the show), is watching the townhouse across the street with her opera glasses, when she thinks she sees a gentleman, Simon ( our hero) killing his paramour.
This leads to Lily trying to investigate further and Emma tryng to keep her out of trouble.
This book had action from word one. It kept your attention thru out. I really enjoyed reading it and look forward to the next in the series.
As a side note, I know this is a book in The Dangerous Lord series, but I hope that Lily will get her own story someday.

A positively awesome and well written story! We have the heroine Emma Trafford who’s an aspiring painter with a massive distrust of men particularly peers. Being the sole guardian to her younger siblings she is determined to support her family through her painting.
Simon Marlton, Viscount Adler is a brooding damaged and very very sexy hero with secrets a plenty of his own. Through plenty of hilarious circumstances, some delicious to die for kisses and one very ambitious sibling for sleuthing keep Emma on her toes and in Simon’s lap!

I highly recommend this second book by Renee Ann Miller I enjoyed it immensely!
I recieved a complimanry copy from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest unbiased opinion.

Clearly, Emma Trafford’s new neighbour is a lady killer but is the scoundrel with the scar capable of murder? Emma can barely contain her precocious younger sister, Lily the child swears she spied their neighbour engaged in foul play in his Bloomsbury love nest. But when Lily goes too far searching for “evidence,” Emma must save the imp by distracting Simon with an all-consuming kiss rife with danger and desire. Simon Marlton, Viscount Adler doesn’t know which is more infuriating: that an anonymous intruder set his soul on fire and left a deep longing in her wake or that during their encounter his signet ring, a token of his painful past, went missing. With the memory of a faint scent of paint spirits and the knowledge that his neighbour Emma is a portraitist, Simon sets out to capture his thief .
This is the second book in the series but could stand very well as a standalone, however it was good to catch up with Hayden & Sophia. Simon decides to ‘go by' the name of Simon Radcliffe whilst in Bloomsbury as he is somewhat notorious. I really enjoyed this feel good book, I was immediately drawn in with Lily’s assumption that Simon was murdering his mistress. The characters were very well fleshed & I liked both Simon & Emma but it was the secondary characters that added the icing on the cake. Lily was just delightful, then there were Baines & Harris Simon’s servants who were hilarious & finally Mrs Flynn. The story flowed really well & the pages flew over. There were misunderstandings & secrets which all added to this enchanting engrossing read.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) I like historical fiction, and every once in a while I feel the need to read one..This book was just ok, and that kind of bummed me out because I really in the mood for the upper class.we meet Simon who was robbed and hit on the head and he was gun ho on finding out who the culprit was. He was sure that Emma is the guilty one but nothing seemed to fit with that prediction. I liked Emma and enjoyed Lily, but Simon was just ok.

My first time reading a story by this author... and it was very cute. The characters were likeable, the story moved along at a good pace, there was humor, misunderstandings/lies didn't go on for too long.

I don't know why I started with book #2, but it didn't go over the couple from book #1 that much in depth so I don't feel that I ruined anything by reading it out of order.

One thing that I noticed, I did start to count how many times the hero would rub the back of his neck when thinking or stressed out. :)
