After taking two steps forward and several massive steps back, what was supposed to be a fun and easy conclusion for Lainie ends up resulting in her having to make one of the toughest, yet most important, decisions of her life — without her Little Pink Book, because matters of the heart cannot be strategized.
Season 1
What is the difference between a door, an elbow, and me? The first two have been banged, and I have not. Ba-dum-tss. That will soon change, though, because I refuse to step foot on college campus with my V-card still intact. Lainie Gray hereby swears to lose that thing once and for all before the end of summer vacation — which should be easy since I just so happen to live in one of the most popular beachy tourist destinations in the world. Sexy summer flings abound. If only my heart would stop leading me toward guys who are no good. After one breakup too many, the time has come for that particular organ to take a backseat. Problem is, to get my head into the game, I need to shed several protective layers of myself first. Oh… clothes, too. Cue panic. I also need to stop using my friends as barricades so much. Carrick especially — my main bestie and roommate. He would be my wingman, no questions asked, but I really need to take on this project solo. Plus, it would be kinda weird having him in the wings while I look for as many chip readers — ahem, guys — as possible to potentially slide my V-card into. The more options, the merrier, after all. So, yeah, I need a plan. A smart one. Something bold… and brave. A “little black book.” Scratch that. Make it pink instead. Romance fans will swoon over this funny, angsty, coming-of-age Reverse Harem romance!
Adell Ryan is a hubby/wife pseudonym. Adell writes unconventional love stories about fierce women and their numerous male suitors. Because let's be honest, we need more than one to satisfy our multi-dimensional needs. Right? Ryan simply puts up with Adell's crazy fantasies and toots her horn regularly. Occasionally he'll add in a shoulder pat, and a deep, sexy "Damn that's good stuff."
That southern boy (bless him) stole this northern girl's heart and they live together in the deep south, raising their three boys. When Adell isn't writing she's homeschooling — primarily working on dictation, making sure they say 'creek' instead of 'crick' and 'fire' instead of 'fer.' She also dabbles in photography and graphic design. Oh yeah, and reading. Every. Night. Much to Ryan's dismay. Sometimes she puts the steamy stuff down and gives him a quick kiss on the forehead though.
Ahh you guys. We have gotten to the end of the first season of LPB and OH.MY.WORD. So many things are happening in this last book. I'm not gonna lie, I was extremely scared going into this episode. I may have had some harsh words for the authors with how they have done my poor boy. I am still team Car all the way and I need him to get redemption. So yea, you see why I was so scared going in here? So no spoilers. Haha, sorry.
So yea, not a lot I can reveal here without giving too much away. I can say that if you have enjoyed this series so far you are going to be all in on this last episode. Some super yummy things are happening. Even though we are ending the first season the authors did NOT do us dirty and leave us hanging too bad. It was an ending that I could be comfortable with and yet still I'm ready for the next season. So thankful for that. I'm on cliffhanger overload these days and I was not looking for another one here.
So absolutely read this book if you have read the others. You will be so excited. If you haven't picked this up yet, now is the perfect time. It is sweet, funny, angsty, absolutely a slow burn. Just an all around great read for me. One of my favorites.
So many of us women can relate to Lainie. She is quirky, a nervous mess at times, a good friend and a hard worker but growing into to herself too. This girl has hit the jack pot with awesome guys. She also has had some jerks but she is a survivor and just trying to figure life out. The hotness is great to read but her goofy moments make it all the more better and fun too. Don't mess out on her and the guys stories it's so worth the read. I havent missed a book yet. I can't wait to see what happens next but my vote is so for the V-relationship that has started and what it may build into...
This episode, no, this season of the Little Pink Book has wormed its way into my little black heart, carved out a space, turned on a light and took up permanent residence.
It is coming of age drama at its finest!
There is angst. There is character growth. There are little snippets of humour that add a lightheartedness to the story. There is intrigue. There is a level of realism to it that makes me pay attention. There is relationship building. There is spicy goodness.
And if that isn't enough to whet your appetite, it is emotive as all hell and relatable in ways I wasn't expecting.
The characters could have just as easily been me or you at that age. In fact, some things still ring true now and I'm 35 years old! It's been interesting, as an outsider looking in, to see them make some of the same mistakes, see them flounder for answers and ultimately, see them learn and grow from them as they traverse that line between being a teenager and an adult. This can be as simple as admitting they were wrong and giving a meaningful apology or as complex as taking the time to re-evaluate their behaviour, adjust accordingly and thus, change the course of their friendships, life and relationships for the better.
This really was the perfect season finale and I love the hopeful outlook we have going into season 2.
I have really enjoyed this series and I love how much Lainie has grown and matured throughout. But, I have to say , I am no longer rooting for Carrick! He was so nasty to her and he still doesn't get that she has feelings for guys other than him! Looking forward to reading season 2.
I need more….I’m so proud of Lainie and how she’s grown as a person. She’s finally getting what she deserves in life and I’m hoping she’s going to get everything she wants in life. I just need it before May 2023.
OMG!! WHAT!! I can't believe the book ended like that just as Lainie is about to have conversation with him (if read u know who don't want to spoil for people that haven't).. And the worst bit we have to wait until May 23 to get next book... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
I binged this final episode of season 1 and wanted to wail when the end snuck on me. I sincerely hope that these become paperback collections because I would 100% add these to my bookshelf and reread over and over
Love the characters and so here for each relationship. I cant wait for the next book. The whole concept of building their own unconventional family is so what i live for. Its an interesting way to build an RH compared to anything else ive read.
