In the shadows of Ravenholde, the things you can't see will kill you.
With the infection ravaging our mystical town and no antidote in sight, tensions between the Shadow Council members are at an all-time high.
When I start to find a place within the Shifter community, Caton shows signs that he may have been hasty in ending our marriage, but Lucinda turns the coven against me to ensure I can never return. The controversy with the Council initiates an argument with Ayesha, my mentor, and business partner, and I'm faced with losing my shop and the means to help the people of Ravenholde.
Do I turn my back on the town that raised me or risk losing the one thing in the world that's mine?
The book was good, and I finished in record time right after book one. Because of that I realized there is a glaring problem between the two books - fact checking. In not saying its on every page but it's enough that at times it jarred me out of the fictional universe I had been sucked into willingly, to think wtf?
If you describe something in one book, describe it the same way in following books or don't describe it again. For example, Hunter's cabin interior. In the first book it was painted dark, in the second book it had white walls with a dark blue accent wall with a matching sofa.
If something works one way at the beginning of a series, 1) don't change it, 2) if it has to change, explain it away, don't just change it and think your readers are too oblivious to notice. For example, Eve had to chant a spell with the potion to make it work in Book One. No spell was needed with the potion in Book Two. Eve could give it out to Hunter and others without Eve having to be there in person to administer the potion. I understand the reasoning. But have Eve find a way to fix the potion so it doesn't need a spell. Maybe her fae influence plays a part? there were a couple of other discrepancies that I can't recall right now but annoyed me at the time. These may not bother everyone but good writing should be universal in quality. I do really like your books and will continue to read because I love your characters and story lines.
Eve, a witch, having developed a cure for a disease ravaging supernaturals, along with Nishi, the first hunter of the God Artemis, and then Faith, a bounty hunter who has a demon grandfather, is fighting against an evil god, his followers and those infected with an unknown disease. When she's not doing that, she's administering aid and medicine to the affected supernaturals, including those from the local werewolf pack, led by Hunter, an alpha wolf, who she is interested in. Meanwhile the Shadow Council, with her ex husband in charge, is more interested in dismissing her and her growing powers. Even her mentor, Ayesha is against her. As if this isn't enough..... Can't wait for the next book! Received a free copy from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
We rejoin Nishi and Eve right where we left them at the end of book 1 - looking at Rerek, the God of Chaos. So obviously, he is the one causing the strange sickness and the stranger hybrids. The question is: what can one witch and one of Artemis' hunters do about it other then kick butt and not care about names? The council is no help. Eve's ex-husband and his plastic girlfriend (and head of Eve's coven of witches) are too busy calling Eve a liar and totally ignoring Nishi because she was a mundane before being recruited by Artemis. Fortunately Carnell (incubus) and Reed (wolf) are on their side, but even Eve's mentor, Ayesha, seems to be turning on her.
Eve and Nishi make a new friend when they meet Carnell's granddaughter Faith, a badass demonic bounty hunter. Faith gets them into Carnell's library where they can do some research on Rerek. She's also pretty handy to have around when fighting vampire hybrids. Hunter is sending Eve mixed signals about their relationship and she is getting fed up. Everything comes to a head when Henrietta insists that Eve go to Lucinda (plastic Barbie) to get permission for them to treat the shifters who have contracted the virus. Lucinda not only refuses, she cuts Eve from the coven. It is not safe for a witch to be without a coven....

Eve and her new BFF Nishi are attacked by supernatural creatures infected with a virus creating hybrids, and an ancient Egyptian god. They go to the council for help, and are met with skepticism. Then all hell breaks loose. In the meantime, Eve is still fighting her powerful ex-husband and his new Barbie, neither of whom want to do anything to make her life remotely easier. The two bright spots in her life are Hunter, her new lover, and Faith, the demon bounty hunter who has quickly become a good friend.
This book has the best of both authors. Kindle fogging steam, and a complicated plot are both present. The book begins just where the first in the series left off, so it would not make sense if you haven't read that one too. It also ends on a cliffhanger, which will lead directly into the third. The only downside is the time between books. This is such an amazing story, with middle aged women done wrong who are doing their best to make the world right again. It's a beautiful thing, with magic in the chaos. I definitely recommend this one, and wait with bated breath for the next installment.

In Ravenholde, the majority of the Shadow Council are a bunch of idiots. In this book it is even more true of them. Nishi, huntress of Artemis is besties with Eve, who used to be married to Caton, head warlock on the Council and major **%!. Eve is much more powerful than she was while married to him, because he siphoned her powers and she survived. She owns a shop with the Fae council member, whose personality changes in this book. We find out the God that is making the supernaturals sick is Rerek, Egyptian God of Chaos also known as Apep or Apophis. Lucinda, who is with Caton now, is the head of the Witches coven. I hate the both of them. Eve hasn’t really followed the witches rules and gets caught and bad things happen. This book is packed with action, wisdom and fun. I loved it and can’t wait for the next book. It also introduces another powerful female supernatural, who I love. I love Hunter and Reed.
I can’t wait for the next book.

Why is it that everything seems to happen at once? Our heroine is up to her cauldron in trouble and that is not making her day any easier. All she sees is impossible choices no matter which way she turns.
This is book two of the series, but it works pretty well as a standalone. The essential bits are covered early on.
This is a paranormal romance story with witches, vampires, shifters and the whole lot. The story is well written and easy to read with a plot that nonetheless has a lot going on. The setting is well developed and quite intriguing, so I am definitely looking forward to exploring over several books. The characters are equally well done. I definitely like our heroine which is a good thing as she is the focus of our story. But she has an excellent cast, both good and bad, to go with her. Add in a plot with plenty of mystery and intrigue and, of course, magic. Overall, this was a continuation to the series and I look forward to seeing what comes next.
Highly recommended.

I'm trying so hard to like this series. Why all the 5 star reviews? The storyline is good. The characters are good, but I feel like it's a story about a middle-aged woman written by a teenager. Every topic seems extreme and exaggerated. Do we need for Eve and Nishi to confirm they're best friends every time they are together? Do Caton and Lucinda need to say mean things to Eve in every single scene? Does Eve need to get hurt within an inch of her life every time she leaves the house? I'm on book two, and it's as if the writers forgot what was written in book one. I've just been reintroduced to the shifter community center with the underground cells, and Eve just entered Hunters house for the first time again?? Is there no one else noticing these inconsistencies and exaggerations? I'm going to finish this book in the hopes that the writing matures as I go, but there won't be a book three for me at this rate.
One night in the demon sex club with Hunter and Eve is a mess. Now, it is bigger than that because she and Nishi have stumbled onto Rerek, the god of chaos who is trying to get a stronghold and physical place in this world and all his acolytes. Eve and Nishi fight their way out but, not without taking some serious damage. Eve is able to stop Rerek before he can end this world but, she doesn't know how. She and Nishi decide to go tell the Council. That goes well.... Okay, not really but, Eve and Nishi get sent to Salem for some threat.
This was a really great read, this series just gets better. I really feel for Eve in all her trials. She is lucky to have Nishi and her friends. I am excited for the next in series and the next one about Eve which is a bit of a wait. I highly recommend this book and series.
We pick up right at the cliffhanger from book one. We get a some answers to why Eve chose hubby, but still a lot missing since he was "her life" since she 18, and he had recognition from other witches before he married her. How the smartest magical people can't believe their eyes to all the danger is pretty worrisome. Lucy's shenanigans are outrageous and yet she has power. When Eve gets set up to talk, but is cut from the guild, we find it brings death to the untethered witch. None of the witches Eve has known since a child has any concern for her! They all instantly say "yes" to her coven's expulsion, expecting Eve to drop dead right then. This was nuts. Eve being upset or forlorn is expected, waiting for her to drop dead is horrifying. So now I am on to book three at a cliffhanger again.
Just as Eve helps track and begin treating more infected supes, more widespread infections leave her trying to follow coven protocols with disastrous results
can Eve survive the power plays of the new hottie at the side of her politically well placed ex?
in the face of distressing evidence of the developments in the mutations in the virus and in the victims, how can some council members still be in denial?
lethally dangerous power plays as the ploys of a dangerous and clever god advance
romance and friendships get twisted
Eve and any remaining allies have a rough road ahead
waiting anxiously to see what happens next.

What a rollercoaster of action and adventure. Hunter and Eve are developing a delicious relationship. I loved reading about Hunter. Eve has more problems and her ex Caton only complicates the situation. We learn more about Rerek. I love the involvement of Nishi and Faith. The way they help Eve is outstanding. Well written with a great cliffhanger . What is up with Ayesha? Is she cursed with the virus? Why did she do the unthinkable against Eve, one of her best friends? I can't wait to read what is next with Eve and her new friends.

This book kept me wanting to see what happened next. There was some things that did not add up, but take that away it was a very good read. Follow Eve as she trys to find her place in magic and the whats going on. Can she help protect the supernaturals? Why are some of the council members not beliving whats going on? Will Hunter change his mind on witches? Can Her and Nishi help the supernatural? What does the God of chaos really want? New characters are also brought into this book too.

Progress was made in this book in identifying the source of the infection mutating paranormals. But it felt like for every person that was cured, two more were infected. And no progress in stopping the God trying to cross the portal to Earth. The bond between the three women fighting to save everyone is strong, and progress on the romantic front. But it seems the animosity towards the heroine by almost everyone else is increasing. I feel so sorry for her. This book does bring out the feels in me.
Just when she seems to be getting somewhere, something or someone comes along to try and tear her down. She's making a couple of strong friends though and I hope that her sort of relationship becomes something more. I do think that she's stronger than she thinks she is though and someone is still out to get her, just not sure quite who it is.

I loved book one and could not wait to read book two and it was so good! So we carry one from where we left off and Eva’s adventure continues even with Eva’s ex trying to cause trouble. There’s still the virus taking out paranormals / supes and they are doing what they can to help them. With the council in denial things are not looking good in this exciting & action packed read. Can they stop what’s going on and save everybody? This is so so good!
I'm loving this series about Bethany and her other supernatural friends. Without the help of most of the council, she needs to continue to save the supernatural community from the demons. So much is packed into this book!.

this was what I expected from the Shrouded Nation series and it was really well done. I always enjoy reading from Tia Didmon and this had what I enjoyed about her writing. The story worked well and I was glad that this series continued. I can't wait to read more in this series.

Eve is just beginning to discover her powers as a witch. Supernatural council is denying the problems facing the supernatural community. It seems only Eve and Nishi doing anything about it. No one believes in Eve except Nishi and Kat. Can Eve stop what happening? Find out in All Good Magic Comes to an End.
I absolutely loved Eve in this book. Her desire to help, and the obstacles that she faces with doing it, had me turning pages and loving this story. I am loving this midlife series and excited to see what is next. I Loved It!!! No Spoilers!.

This is the second book in an awesome series. Eve is helping find and treat infected supernaturals and the coven is making it very difficult for her to coexist with them. This story has action, drama and good old fashioned deceit. I loved all the twists and turns in the story. It was magnificent.

This is Book 2 of the Shrouded Nation series. This is an AWESOME story. I got hooked back into the story, right from the start and could not put it down. I love the characters and the storyline. I cannot wait to read the next book and more from these authors. LOVED IT!!!!!!.

This was a story of a witch getting used to her powers but hasn’t got there yet.Things are happening that the Council is denying but she and the one to help have their hands full trying to get it under control!.

Great story I hooked after reading the 1st book. The councell is still denying that the virus is their problem. Well, some of them are, mainly Eve's ex and his lover, who is also the head witch. As great as these books are I hate cliffhangers. The books don't need them because the books are great.
Would have rated it 5 stars. However, the extensively descriptive sex scenes repeatedly interfered with the plot. If they bother you, you can flip through the pages (about 5) and rejoin the tale. If you don’t want to purchase MANY books, don’t do the first one. Definitely serialized.
All Good MagicComes to an End (Shrouded Nation Book 2) by Brenda Trim & Tia Didmon. More and more people are getting infected and Eve tries to do the right thing and gets thrown out of her coven. Hunter, Nishi and Faith become her new coven but Ayesha, her business partner turns on her.
I love to read a series of books that the authors have taken the time to create a world, characters with individual stories and connecting them all by sucking me right into their world. Thank you😍 Looking forward to reading more and I would highly recommend reading the series to everyone 👍
Eve and Hunter are doing the does he like me or does he hate me dance. She and her friends are trying to prevent an evil god from coming into the realm of Earth. They are also trying to stop the magical sickness infecting supernaturals. I like the action, humor, and romance. I look forward to the next book.
I feel so bad for Eve. She is doing everything she can to help and shifter when they are infected and some just want too knock her down. I am so glad that eve has support. I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait too read what will happen next.
