Michael Gordon is the talented author of several highly rated children's books including the popular Sleep Tight, Little Monster, and the Animal Bedtime.
He collaborates with famous Kids Book Press that creates picture books for people of all ages to enjoy. Michael’s goal is to create books that are engaging, funny, and inspirational for children of all ages and their parents.
When asked by her parents, Heidi tells them she did her homework and cleaned her, but she knows she did not. She lied because it was a lovely day and she wanted to go out and play. When confronted later about her lies, she admits to them. Her parents explain why it is important to be honest.
I liked this quick read. Heidi is a typical kid. When a more fun experience can be had, she'll lie to get out of doing what she considers boring and time consuming. I liked that when she got caught in the lie, she admitted it and learned the importance of telling the truth. I appreciated that she used the lesson the next day.
I enjoy Mr. Gordon and look forward to more of his books.
Heidi has been telling lies to her parents. At first it seems harmless. As she goes along her stomach is upset and she doesn’t feel well. She fears she will get caught. Sure enough she does and her parents sit with her and explain why telling the truth is a big deal. Once again the author has put his characters in a position that most very young children will find themselves in at one point or another. A great source for teaching young kids about the importance of telling the truth.
I loved the simplicity in explaining the importance of honesty and consequences of lying to children. While reading I came across one spelling error. Otherwise it is a simple book to start the conversation of honesty and why we should not lie when discussing this topic with children. I also loved the graphics in the story. If your child has a problem with lying this can be a good conversation starter!.
I love reading this book to my son because it taught him the importance of honesty and that it’s OK to make mistakes as long as you tell the truth in the end
This book is good for teachers, families and friends to teach their children about how important it is to tell the truth, even if it means consequences are being in action as well.
