I'm so glad that we got a back story on Nick and Maxine! They had piqued my interest in Verity's book. On the outside it looks like Nick really dislikes Maxine, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Maxine has mixed feelings and these two go from zero to 100 real quick 🔥 This is a quick steamy story that pulls you in with Leila's writing. I loved it and I can't wait to see if we get anymore from these characters. I think I may just blush next time I'm in a lift 😉
So I have a love hate feelings about Chasity's book! I love how quick it grabs you and hold your attention, even for a short story. You get an instant connection with the characters!! You can feel the heartache and the passion between the main characters! I hate so much that it's a short story, I need more! I want the back story and I want more of the future!! All of Mrs. Tarantino's stories grab you and leave you needing, not wanting but needing more! This one and all her others are must reads and I can't wait for her next release!! Please hurry up!!

*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this anthology from Wildfire Marketing Solutions / the authors*
Look, I can tell you right now, there should be nothing less that 5 Stars for this Anthology because these authors are amazing for doing this for those in Uvalde especially since the price isn't high at all & every penny goes to those whose lives will never be the same. Anyway, let me get one with it. I'm reviewing Meet Me at the Fair by Heidi McLaughlin, and like with all of her other work, she knocked it out of the park with this brief glimpse into the beginning of CeCe & Jeremiah's story, and I can tell you that I'm ready for more. CeCe is visiting her cousin in Texas, when she meets a cowboy, Jeremiah, at the fair, and the connection is instant between the two. However, he lives in Texas while she lives in NY, so how will this play out?! And yes that's all I have for y'all since it's short & sweet because again, there's more to come. So in order to experience it for yourselves, you'll have to hit those one click buttons on this Anthology like I've already done since it's for a great cause and all! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This review is for the short story: The Speeding Ticket by Phoebe Alexander
The Speeding Ticket is my first story I've read by Phoebe Alexander and I already plan to read more. This was a heartwarming story about a man settling back home with his young son. And though they knew each other growing up, he had a great 2nd chance meet cute with an old flame, Allie, who pulled him over to give him a speeding ticket.
Who knew that was the best way for a breakfast date?
The story evolves to a wonderful romance culminating in an edge-of-your-seat ending that becomes the happy ending you were hoping for.
A quick read, this story made my night.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This review is for Speak now by Dana Isaly and Amber McCammon!
This short story follows Miles and Katie, who have been best friends and secretly in love with each other since childhood.
I really loved the entirety of this story. How it started off with a bit of drama, some reminiscing between the characters giving us some background, to the spicy and sweet ending.
Absolutely amazing how they were able to give us a journey that felt complete in just 6 chapters.
Thank you to the authors for providing me with an ARC <3
This book is an anthology collection of 50 short stories by different artists, with proceeds benefiting the families of the children whose lives were ripped away from them in Uvalde. I had the honor to review this book early, and every story I read was nothing short of breathtaking. Every author in this book deserved a standing ovation for their stunning contributions to a work of art. These stories are touching, romantic, sensual, gripping, and when read together, form a must-have publication to any avid reader’s bookshelf. 10/10 recommended!♥️
I read Meet Me Under the Weeping Willow by Renee Dyer from this Romance Anthology and it was the perfect second chance romance. It might be a short story but it is full of emotion, passion and love. A story of second chances, revelations and finally coming home. Ezra and Loralei have a connection that you feel radiate through every word. You feel the hurt of ten years apart and you feel the peace that Ezra finds the moment he has her in his sights. A beautiful love story that steals your heart.
This review is for Speak Now by Dana Isaly and Amber McCammon.
This was a cute childhood friends to lovers. Starts off with a little drama, and ends with some spice. I really enjoyed the little bits of reminiscing between Katie and Miles.
This definitely got me excited to read what the other authors in this project have written for it. Can't wait to swoon and just have my heart squeezed.
Review for: Meet Me At the Fair by Heidi McLaughlin
A short story that will make you swoon and drives home that there is just something about a cowboy that just makes the heart flutter. While visiting her cousin in TX, CeCe meets a gorgeous cowboy at the fair. It only takes one look and CeCe and Jeremiah both feel the instant attraction - the only problem - he is a cowboy from TX and she is a city girl who lives in NY. Can you fall in love in an instant? And what happens when she returns home? While short on length this story really packs a bunch and leaves the reader wanting more. Perfect little snippet to leave the reader waiting patiently for more in their story.
I received this arc for my honest review. This anthology is filled with stories that hook you in and leave you wanting more. Each story I read was by a new to me author and they really hooked me in. I did not want them to end and have a new list of authors I will be searching, for more of their work. I definitely recommend and I’m sure you’ll find stories that you’ll just want more of the same way I did.
This is a great introduction to the author's series if you haven't read it. It gives you suspense and mystery and the heat that you crave. It will have you wanting more and wanting to pick up her series from the beginning. You won't be disappointed.

I’m here for Nikki Leigh’s contribution. This is by far my favorite story from this author to date! Noella has worked herself to the bone to succeed after losing the only family she had, but two words in a card may change that. Those two words? “Come home.” That’s it. So now she needs to find a way to reconcile her past to finally feel whole in the present and future. But she’s not counting on Viktor. Yeah, she had a crush once, but seeing him now? That crush has caught fire and burned into something wholly unexpected.
Vik didn’t think he’d see Noella again. After all, she hightailed it out of town after cruel and hateful words and deeds tossed her aside. But he can’t help wanting the woman he sees here and now. If that means going to war with his best friend, so be it. He just needs to convince Noella that she is absolutely the woman for him.
I adored Vik and Noella and their relationship here. They communicate. They argue a bit, but they find common ground and make up. They support each other in the best ways and stand at each other’s backs when needed. They take on Ben and his vile wife, bring truths and surprises to light for all to see, and manage to prevail. Along the way, the unthinkable happens. I start to like Ben. He’s messed up many times. Badly. But he tries to make it right, and did so without ever sharing what he’d arranged for the future. So maybe he’ll have a forever with a certain woman who has taken Noella in as her own? I sort of hope so because he deserves a whole lot more than he got in his brief marriage!
Slipping Through My Fingers by Scarlett Cole - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I absolutely fell in love with Bast instantly, and then fell deeper once I learned the reason for his need to find a particular vinyl. Bast and Indigo are perfect for each other and I loved witnessing them together. If Ms. Cole was to write more of them I’d love that - I don't think I'd ever tire of being in their company. This is a fabulous anthology piece and I can’t wait to read Violet’s story in the anthology Dissent which releases September 6th.
5 stars for this quick and compelling read.
Feels Like Forever by Mignon Mykel - ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I found this to be a lovely anthology story. I loved seeing Chase and Whitney together. However, I would have loved more time with them, so I’m hoping the author will expand the storyline once she is able to.
Luck or Fate? by Isabel Lucero - ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I really enjoyed this short story. Although I did find the outcome a little predictable, I enjoyed the build-up and the details of how Julian and Kat get together. I love how the title of the novella is perfect for the story too.
Force of Nature by Carmen Jenner - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I absolutely loved this story. I was hooked from beginning to end, and what a perfect ending the author penned for us! There’s excitement, sadness, love, rivalry and an old relationship that was handled perfectly. I love Cricket – she’s my new girl idol!
Meet Me at the Fair by Heidi McLaughlin – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
What a fabulous short story this is. What’s even better is that the author is going to extend and then release it at a later date. I’m looking forward to more of Jeremiah and CeCe.
This review will be over two stories included in the Bluebonnet Anthology: Savage Beginnings by Rue Lennox & Whiskey & Wine: A Riggs at Cedar Creek Short Story by C.G. Burnette. • ‘Savage Beginnings’ by Rue Lennox was full of heat yet wasn’t fluffy nor was it a ‘happily never after’. We meet Decon, our male main character, who is not only the president of the motorcycle club but also a single dad. Out of the gate, a left turn there. Then, we meet our female main character Alice. She & Deacon grew up together but she’s the good girl who grew up on the right side of the tracks while Deacon is the rough bad boy of her reckless desires. It was not a storyline I was expecting but I loved every moment! Stars 5/5 + Spice 4/5 • ‘Whiskey & Wine: A Riggs at Cedar Creek Short Story’ by C.G. Burnette is the classic story of a small boy who makes it big & the love of his life that he left behind. Set in North Carolina. Cassidy & Johnathan “Whiskey” Walker were young love sweethearts. Whiskey got a career opportunity he couldn’t turn down but Cassidy couldn’t break her dreams for him. First off? Smart woman. Love it. Second? I love that she has supported him through the years even from afar. They finally run into each other in person once more at their hometown bar. After 5yrs, so much has changed & so much has stayed the same. I can’t wait to hopefully read more about their saga! Stars 5/5 + Spice 3/5
Review for Meet Me at the Fair by Heidi McLaughlin
Meet Me at the Fair is a novella that chronicles the initial summer romance of Jeremiah and Cece. Jeremiah is a cowboy horse trainer at the River Crossing Ranch that Heidi McLaughlin fans first met in The Reeducation of Savannah McGuire. Cece is a city girl visiting family, who wants to cut loose without revealing the truth about who she is and where she’s from. Can the instant attraction, possible love-at-first-sight overcome long distance and different lifestyles? The curse of an anthology is always that the stories are always super short and often open-ended, leaving the reader with questions and another book to wait for or possibly a series to buy. Personally, I’m not a fan of cliffhangers, but it depends on how it’s written and how invested I am. For such a short piece, the world building is excellent here, and the characters feel authentic with an intriguing connection. Having read Tyler and Savannah’s story, I also enjoyed seeing them pop in. Jeremiah and Cece have great chemistry, and they truly sucked me in. I definitely can’t wait to see what happens next!!
I received an advanced review copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I am a firm believe in the best deals I can ever get on books are anthologies. Bluebonnet is one of those books that you get a lot of bang for the book. Making the book even better is that it goes to a great cause.
There was a lot of of OMG moments while reading stories. I never expect to enjoy all of the stories. Some just aren't my cup of tea. If I enjoy half of the stories I consider it a special gift from authors. This book is a very special gift.
I will admit that I actually purchased the book for two reasons, the cause and the story by Heidi McLaughlin. Her story, Jeremiah, was worth the purchase price. I hadn't read The Reeducation of Savannah McGuire for a couple of years, but read it in preparation for her story. I forgot how much I had enjoyed it. Jeremiah just makes it even better.
What a great collection to raise money for those impacted by this horrible tragedy. There are over 50 stories by some of the top authors included in this collection - you will surely find many new authors and series to love when you are finished. "Meet Me at the Fair" by Heidi McLaughlin is one of the novellas included in the collection and I was thrilled to read it. She is one of my favorite authors and this quick novella doesn't disappoint. She captures the essence of those county fairs we've all been to in our lives and teases us with promises of a love story between a city girl and a country boy—such a sure recipe for a rollercoaster of emotions for the full-length book. I for one cannot wait to read that series. This anthology is a great addition to your book collection. Happy Reading...enjoy!
Review for Heidi McLaughlin's contribution, Meet me at the Fair...
Kudos to all the authors who contributed to this anthology! I was excited to read author Heidi McLaughlins contribution "Meet me at the Fair" and it did not disappoint! The Reeducation of Savannah McGuire was one of my favorite Heidi McLaughlin books and this is a story about the main man, Tyler's best friend Jeremiah and a small slice of his love story with CeCe in what I know is going to be a fantastic book. I was delighted to learn at the end of this story that their story will be continuing next summer! Who doesn't enjoy a cowboy meets city girl love story , Yeehaw! Yes ma'am I sure do and I can't wait to find out what happens next!
ARC Review - This is a review for Speak Now by Dana Isaly and A.D. McCammon - I am super excited for this anthology. I love that the money is going for the Uvalde tragedy in San Antonio. I can't imagine how devastated the community is. When I got the chance to sign up-for this ARC I was super excited.
Miles and Katie were childhood friends, who secretly love each other. (Haven't we all had that feeling?!) this friends to lovers is so good even tho the story is short it's memorable.
Dana and A.D did amazing at this! Thank you for letting me ARC read this! Can't wait to read the rest ♥️♥️
Review for Meet Me At The Fair by Heidi McLaughlin
Nothing like a cowboy and his southern charm! I adored this city girl meets country cowboy short story! Just like CeCe, the moment Jeremiah started with his yes, ma’am’s and hat tilts; I was a goner! Although it was a really quick read, Heidi easily pulled me in to the story, connecting with the characters and had me itching for more; to see what the rest of their story will be! I’ll be anxiously waiting for the conclusion! Side note: not gonna lie, I immediately had Garth Brook’s Rodeo on replay in my head as I was reading this story! Makes me wonder what Heidi’s playlist was! 😏
I read and am reviewing Meet Me at the Fair by Heidi McLaughlin
This book left me saying “seriously? What the heck?” Why you might ask? Because I wanted more. I realize that this was just supposed to be a teaser and get me excited for the book which I totally did but I wasn’t ready to be done. These two characters interactions were so genuine from the beginning that I really wanted to know what’s next for them. Obviously there’s a lot still unknown but I can’t wait to see what their future is in the full length book. If you’re like me and like to anticipate what’s coming these short chapters will accomplish that goal.
**Review of Meet Me at the Fair by Heidi McLaughlin**
Meet Me at the Fair is a short story that introduces us to Jeremiah and CeCe. Jeremiah is best friends and the employee of Travis who we met in The Reeducation of Savannah McGuire. CeCe is visiting her cousin in Texas from NY when she meets the handsome cowboy Jeremiah. While they both feel the instant attraction CeCe hides part of herself from Jeremiah. Can the city girl from NY and the cowboy from Texas make it work??? Their story packed a punch with plenty of chemistry, some family drama and lots of two stepping. It was the perfect little snack to leave you wanting more and waiting for their full story.
