Fighting for Always

Rate this book
Time heals all wounds. Or at least that's what Em's heard, but her own experience has been different.
Em and Abel have found their way back to each other, and as much as she wants to focus on their happily ever after together, her past keeps finding ways to force itself into her present. Panic attacks, anxiety, and flashbacks of things she thought no longer affected her, come back with a vengeance. She struggles to find the strength to share that pain with Abel even though he continues to fight for her. The pain and trauma she's endured left an imprint that won't be easily removed and even though she doesn't want to admit it, it's still lingering in her heart and mind.
When someone from her past dredges up the very real ghosts that have haunted her since she was a child, Em finally hits a breaking point and does something that could risk everything. An unlikely ally comes to her and Abel's aide, in an attempt to keep Em from facing the very real consequences of what she has done.
Secrets are hard to keep and even harder to hide when someone is looking for the truth. But sometimes admitting the truth can do more damage to the ones you love. Can Em face her past and find peace or will she let it destroy her future?

Kelsey Sheldon does a phenomenal job in this Broken Rose series. Contemporary Fiction is a perfect genre for these books. The story of Em’s growth and self-sabotage and mental health issues are things I see in myself; easy to relate to this character. Highly recommend reading these books!
