Teagan Tate has everything he’s ever wanted, but despite his wild success as a musician and his wild popularity with the ladies, he’s lonely. Meaningless hook-ups are getting old. There is one woman he’s interested in, but she won’t give him the time of day.
Maria Ruiz has no time for men like Teag – men with a revolving bedroom door who are too cocky for their own good. Sure, he has the body of a Greek god and a sexy Aussie accent, but as head of security for his band, Maria won’t risk her professional reputation. And as a woman who’s been there and done that, she won’t risk her heart.
Things take a deadly turn when Teag is the sole surviving witness to a cartel murder. Still recovering from his injuries, he’s forced into hiding with his sexy bodyguard. As their feelings grow into something unexpected and wonderful, a ruthless killer continues to hunt Teag. Maria and Teag must rely on each other to stay out of his crosshairs, or they risk losing each other and their chance at love.
Maggie Clare is the pen name of award-winning speculative fiction author, Tabitha Lord. When channeling Maggie, she writes all the naughty things. She's currently crafting a romantic suspense series featuring hot hunky heroes, smart sexy gals, and nail-biting narratives. Count on Maggie to pair great story-telling with an erotic edge.
Moving Target by Maggie Clare is a romantic suspense novel with danger, suspense, and romance woven into the story. It’s the fourth book in the Tactical Solutions International series, but works well as a standalone novel. Teagan (Teag) Tate is a successful drummer and popular with women. However, he’s lonely and hook-ups aren’t what he wants anymore. He’s interested in one woman, but she ignores him. Maria Ruiz is head of security for his band on this tour. She’s not willing to risk her professional reputation or her heart. However, when Teag is the surviving witness to a murder, they are forced to go into hiding together. Will the killer find them? Who will survive? Why did the murder occur? Who was the real target?
Both Teag and Maria are well-developed characters. Readers get a good sense of their personalities as well as what drives them during the course of the book. Additionally, there are changes in their outlook as they respond to events in the story. Characters from previous books in the series play secondary and tertiary roles in this one, providing a sense of continuity. However, this novel works fine as a stand-alone.
A fantastic first chapter that grabs readers fades as the story moves to three months earlier. We become acquainted with the characters and security firm hierarchy, but the pace is very slow until the seventh chapter. It picks up then and later, it accelerates even more for the last 40 percent of the book. There is one steamy scene late in the book. The author weaved a tale involving family, friends, trust, loneliness, guilt, fear, regret, community ties, loyalty, greed, romance, death, and action that pulls you into the story.
Overall, this novel had some exciting scenes and suspense with flawed, but relatable characters.
I received a digital copy of this book in a Goodreads Giveaway. Opinions are mine alone and are not biased in any way.
---------------------------------------- My 3.41 rounded to 3 stars review is coming soon.
This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the fourth book in the Tactical Solutions International series. I enjoyed the characters, but I felt the first 60% of this book was slow moving and nothing happened...so it was boring for me. The last 40% was full of action, suspense, and romance. I enjoyed the last 40% of the book, and I felt like falling sleep while reading the first 60% of the book. I won a Kindle edition of this book from a Goodreads giveaway. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
This is a well written book with strong characters in Teag and Maria. The author brings an action packed adventure with them running from a killer. Along the way they grow closer. It's a suspense filled story that had me glued to the pages. The supporting characters and perfectly described scenes help to bring the story to life. Loved and recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Excellent story! Teag always had a special place in my heart throughout this series and his story is fantastic! Maria is hardcore where it counts and Teag needed someone to break through the image he had created for himself. Loved this book and all the twists and turns in this plot make this a true page turner!
I was disappointed in myself for not reading the first book of this series
This book is so good. It is hard to put it down. It is so suspenseful that it made my heart beats so fast. I was disappointed in myself for not reading the series' first book.
I devour this book for 2 days. I do not want to put it down but I have to because I have to work. I even read it while on my lunch break. Maria is such a warrior with a heart of gold, beauty, and the ability to protect people. I admire this woman and she is my favorite character in the book.
Teag, on the other hand, has so many talents except he cannot strum Maria's heart and she is a bodyguard. The connection between this two is insatiable. The fight to protect the family is so intense that Teag is not afraid to lose his life.
This book is full of action. It feels like you are watching a movie instead of reading a book. One of the best books I read this month. I salute Ms. Maggie Clare for this amazing book. I become a new fan.
Teagan!! Maria!! Teagan is my new book boyfriend. Great story. I felt the feels. Good burn. I love the TSI family. I knew Teag was fabulous from Book 1! If the series had to end, it ended wonderfully.
Moving Target Offers Readers Action, Suspense, and Romance. Okay, I am not a fan of instant romances or, really, romance novels in general. Add action, adventure, suspense, and entertaining characters, and I am willing to endure the sudden love story. While the action, adventure, and love story taking the stage in Moving Target are all a bit unrealistic at times, they also add to the entertainment and keep readers invested in the story and the character outcomes. Some scenes are far-fetched, but there are enough plot twists, back stories, and side stories to make this a fun, quick read.
Moving Target Starts Off With a Bang--Then Requires Some Patience. The beginning of this book blasts readers with sudden action and throws this into a suspense-filled adventure--then it backtracks. I loved the beginning of the book--it caught my interest, and I was ready for an adventure with the characters. Then--everything kind of slowed down as we backed up and learned about the characters and the stories leading up to the action at hand. Be patient through the backtracking as the storyline picks up rapidly a little later and becomes a page-turner through the end and even through the Epilogue.
Would I Recommend Moving Target? This book is a stand-alone novel with characters revisiting from the first few books of the series and some allusions to past events and dramas. In a true action-adventure / romantic suspense style, this book is not necessarily the most realistic in relationship development or some plot twists. However, it has an entertaining storyline that holds interest and keeps readers (even cynical ones) invested in hoping for a happy ending for the characters. If you enjoy romantic suspense with flawed characters settling into love--this book is a fun read with a satisfying resolution.

Moving Target is the fourth installment from Maggie Clare’s Tactical Solutions International series. It is the first book I have read by this author. Even though this is part of a series, I feel as though it can still be read as a stand alone. It was an engaging mystery and suspense that was not predictable for me. The romantic scenes were a little spicier than what I am used to reading but I just skimmed over those and continued to read on. There was a lot going on for Maria and Teag. They made quite the duo that got caught up into danger. I loved the chemistry between them and wanted to find out how it would all end for them. There was a lot of adventure and action with some twists and turns that kept me often on the edge of my seat. I felt like I was on a thrilling roller coaster ride. I never knew what would happen next.
Moving Target will be four stars from me. Readers who enjoy reading romantic suspense would enjoy this one. It would be interesting to find out what happened to the characters in the first three books from the Tactical Solutions International series. I would be curious to see where else Maggie Clare’s imagination had taken them to.
I received a paperback copy of Moving Target from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
The tactical solutions team’s next assignment was security detail on the famous celebrity band. Agent Maria was reporting for duty, even though she really didn’t think much of that Aussie drummer no matter how hot he was. He was nothing but an arrogant player. But this was only a job. She was simply tasked to protect the drummer.
The writing was pretty good, vivid and rich. The author really paints a picture for you, however, the lengthy narrative made for slow reading. As is the norm, the first part of the story sets the stage with introducing the characters and setting up the scene, explaining the situation, and bringing back old characters from the previous books in the series. And this is all fine. But the thing was that it continued in this slow and steady pace. Story felt uneventful most of the time. Things really don’t pick up until the last quarter of the book when we get to see the feisty Latina agent in action. There’s some suspense and, of course, a little romance, which made it pretty good. But the read, overall, was pretty mild, I’d say.
It's a good effort. Interesting premise. It’s a fairly nice read.
Maria and Teag have SO much chemistry together in this book and while I can’t blame Maria for not wanting a guy who things relationships are optional, you still can see from the very beginning the attraction between them. The fact that she is his bodyguard just added a lot more into the mix. When he’s in danger from the Cartel though can they both change their way of thinking and life and have a chance to not only remain safe together, but to also have their chance at love? This book is extremely emotionally driven, with some suspense that keeps you on your toes, but these two make fantastic main characters and I greatly enjoyed the book.

The story was interesting with Maria being the head security for the band that Teagan plays the drums for. Teagan is a sexy Aussie that Maria wants nothing to do with because of his females and his revolving door. Then Teag is the only survivor and witness the cartel murder the people in the band. While Teag recovers from his injuries he and Maria have to go on the run. While together they learn more about each other and their feeling start to change. Do they get a chance to escape from the cartel and get a HEA? Read and find out.

This story was good from beginning to end. Maria was in private security guarding a band. Teag was the drummer and was something of a ladies man. He was interested in her, but she was resisting. She kept turning him down. After a concert, a horrible incident happened an she went on the run with him trying to keep him safe. Both were injured, Teag more so. It was suspenseful and exciting with who Maria dealt with trying to keep them safe. I will look for more books from this series and author.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It was a very nice suspense story with a bit of romance for spice. Teagan hurting from being rejected by Maria ends up in the middle of a mob shooting with him being the only witness. Almost losing Teagan makes Maria realize what's important. They go into hiding together and really talk about their pasts which helps them understand each other. The assassin is caught and dealt with. Teagan and Maria are free to love each other as they both want to.
This is book 4 of Tactical Solutions International series but can be read as a standalone.
A great story. Luv'd that she was the bodyguard. The characters were wonderfully written and so very appealing. The world building was excellent and well thought out. The plot was intriguing, exciting, suspenseful and well paced. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend this book. Would luv to read more of this series.

This 4th book had the same thrills as the others but more adventure as they duck & run for their lives from an killer. The past colouring their present almost made their future non existing. Teag & Maria found their way to each other slow and sweetly. Maria's strength came through so strong. Absolutely great read with amazing team mates.

I liked this book. It is full of action and suspense with a nice plot. The characters are interesting, not unnecessary angst and drama (the way i like my romance to be). It is as steamy as it should be without overdoing it. I would like to read more books from the author.

This was an amazing book! This was my first time reading a book by Maggie’s Clare, I really want to read the previous books of the series, it’s definitely not necessary to read the previous books in the series however I would recommend it. Maria and Teag make such a cute couple and I loved the reverse body guard aspect.

Teagen has been happy with his life until he realizes that one-night stands are not what he wants anymore. What he wants is Maria a new hire at the security company, when she turns him down again, he decides to bring 2 girls to his room. What he did not count on was who they were related to.

Book 4 in the TSI series. Teag has been a major character in the other books of this series now it’s time for his story. There are a few twists in this but it also allows his family to be introduced as well, and we might see his sister again in future stories.

This story really sucked me in. Teagan and Maria's story was very interesting and kept me solidly focused till the end. This is a reverse bodyguard plot where Maria is actually his bodyguard. When he is in grave danger, it's up to her to protect him. The storyline was different and unique and I really enjoyed reading this new bodyguard dynamic.
Wonderful book, Teag and Maria’s story. They had such a great chemistry with a wonderful storyline. It’s suspenseful emotional and action packed. I couldn’t stop reading. I loved reading it.

Good written book, that has great characters however the reason I am giving it four stars is because it was written in the third person which is a deal breaker for me. But overall I really enjoyed it.

well-written book with strong characters that were interesting. It was an action-packed adventure suspense-filled story. The author truly brought the story to life and I would recommend this book to my friends.
Well this book had it all, action, suspense, romance and my favorite genre Rockstar. Could you ask for anything more. What an enjoyable read. I did not read the books #1 thru #3 but I certainly will now. Thank you Booksprout for the copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
