A general is dead, a faction is massacred and at the heart of it all is Zane.

Roughly thrust into a past world, he's labeled a traitor by some, a hero to others. Zane is now Justicar, with power to rival the High Counsel. But it's adapt or die--He must learn to control his newfound power before a rogue group of Warriors come after his head.

Sinohne is caught behind enemy lines cloaking his devastation under a stone face. His lover is dead, his family... everyone he ever cared for is gone--except Zane. As the Ward’s Binding leads to consequences no one expected, not even him, is he still the wolf in sheep’s clothing, or has he become the crippled lamb?

Now, Zane and Sinohne must rely on each other as they navigate the upcoming storm together.

When a Fallen is caught in the cross hairs of an old enemy, wreaking havoc in the wilds of Montana, can Zane reach him in time?

What a great follow-up from Fallen Virtue!. I love Zane and how, despite being one of the most powerful angels, he still isn't infallible. He's young for an angel and still learning his ways while trying to fight a common enemy. I love the idea of putting an angel with a demon. But Sinohne isn't any demon. He has a heart and loves, all the while suffering from grief.

I love the side characters too: Roza and Ryse. Ryse is a fallen angel after being betrayed who lives on earth and falls for Roza, a veteran who lost her legs. She's a strong woman and I love their dynamic.

This book is full of action, and love as Heaven and Hell join forces. I look forward to the next installment of "Beasts and Buzzards."

Book 2 of the Beasts and Buzzards series and definitely the author has not let us down in this book. we continue ton with Zane (or Justiciar) as he is reinstated and a Damaceous whose love for each other knows no bounds. enter Sinohne who takes a central stage in this book as Damaceous is forced into a deep coma. like book 1 you are in store for a roller coaster of emotions as you read through this book. there are twists' and turns you may or may not expect and throughout it your loyalties to the main characters are tested and in deed to the author. this is a must read I feel for everyone.

My only problem and yet great joy is, where is the next installment. cant wait to read it but yet don't want it to come to an end. how many books are there and how much can one take as a fan of Ms. Benson. well done to Ms. Benson and to everyone else, friends, followers, following and yet to friend and follow ......... Excellent!

A wonderful second book in an excellent series, this kept up the suspense and excitement created in the first book and even expanded on it. Even better still I have no idea which way the story is going to go next. That in itself is exciting. Furthermore the characters in the book are excellent. They grab at your heart strings and make you want to get to know them better, even the villains. In fact sometimes it’s very hard to distinguish who the villains are from the heroes. It’s not as clear cut as who’s an Angel and who’s a Demon. That would be too easy. My only complaint is how long I have to wait before book 3 is published and I can read it too.

The most amazing thing about this book is the depth of the characters. You feel what they feel; the good, the bad, and the downright ugly. And the awesome plot helps too. Love it!

I loved this book! Zane and Sin are wonderful together, and they are figuring out how much they mean to each other. This book really leaves you questioning who are the good guys and who are the bad guys, who is friend and who is foe. Some of the demons don't seem so bad, while some of the angels are horrible. It's a different kind of dynamic than what you might expect heaven and hell to be. I loved the world-building and the character development, and I am so ready for the next book.

I received a free review copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Awesome follow up to the first. Love the world and continue if character building. I loved how the author makes you question everything you think you know, like is good really good and is are the evil ones really evil. In this book you get to see Zane grow into himself and more confident. You also get to see other sides of his demon best friend. Can’t wait until the next one.

Sinful Pride written by the author RJ Benson is the second installment in 'Of Beasts and Buzzards' book series.

Main character of the story is Zane, the Justicar, enforcer for Heaven’s High Council. Another character of importance is Sinohne, Demon Lord of Pride.

Zane was in coma. It has been a difficult time for Sinohne. He has spent months waiting for Zane to wake up. Now Zane is awake but the Higher Council is after him to take the lessons and trainings. Zane asked Sinohne what is it that the Council wants. He was shocked to know Culzahr is still alive. Sin wanted to kill him but spared him on Damaceous' request. Now Council wanted Zane to help them by interrogating Culzahr. Council thinks that Zane has a personal connection that could loosen Culzahr's tongue. But Zane don't want to face Culzahr in person.

Read this story to know how Zane and Sinohne will support each other. Story is full of action and adventure.

One could binge read this story on the weekend. Characters are interesting and will capture all your attention. Those who enjoy reading paranormal urban fantasy should get their hands on this book. World building is something I really appreciate. Author has done a wonderful job in this book. Loved the story. Go ahead with this book without any second thoughts.

I am loving this series so far. This is book 2 and you must read Fallen Virtue as it has an overlaying arc. Zane is now Justicar to the angels, but there is still a faction in the warrior’s dominion who have labeled him a traitor. Zane is also being trained by Michael to be able to fight. Sin is also in heaven and as the last remaining member of the pride faction in hell, he is trying to get all the heads together in a tribunal to make him lord. Sin and Zane are also getting closer. Great world building, action and heat between them. I am so looking forward to reading more in this world.
